    'ello. This will be the collection thread for my poetry. I separate each poem with four squigglylines, like so: ~~~~. Some of them are named, some are not. If there is a title, they will be in bold.

    I'll go in chronological order, starting with some of my first poems, progress, and ultimately my latest poems. Then I will continue to update as I write moar.

    Spirit

    I sit here inside my house
    And I don't mind the solitude.
    Who could find peace in a world
    Whose pace is as of mold?

    Certainly I don't care to fold
    The cards I find that sooth my soul
    Why make my mind feel the anguish
    Of a lone and soulless world?

    ~~~~
    Don't you gaze into the sky?
    Answer now do not be shy
    The stars and bodies create a maze
    Stare at it your mind's amazed
    What is it of the black abyss
    that we find so amiss?
    Does something lurk beyond the sphere
    that perhaps would bring to life our fears?
    Do cities of evil plot our demise
    Or do places of peace now reside?
    Is the universe full of nothing
    Or is existence empty of everything?
    Believe me, don't believe me
    Fear me, don't fear me
    Heed me, don't heed me
    But however you choose
    I take my leave
    Either way you're all fools
    ~~~~
    The guard is armored.
    Remove his white helmet
    and destroy his ego.
    You mustn't let
    him strike first;
    his strike is
    poisonous

    Can you see the grey doorway?
    It leads into the monument.
    We could enter together
    or buy a guide.
    They're cheap, you know.
    Keep an eye open.

    ~~~~
    A staring contest is a
    battle of the psyche.
    See who's mind is rattled
    and forced to turn away.
    The victor - the more power
    of brain.
    The loser - the more colder
    in death
    ~~~~

    Strange substance sealing
    vision very vivid
    By what force
    is obstructing,
    even shielding
    my own senses?
    It seems glued.
    Now I'm done
    write my letter
    now I'm blind

    ~~~~
    Sparkly gold appendage
    of my affection
    bring yourself closer
    So I may touch
    and feel and taste
    the sweet nectar
    that so eludes me
    ~~~~

    The Tower

    I looked up at the menacing tower
    before I approached it's walls.
    I began my ascent into it's depths,
    my heart throbbing endlessly.
    The stairs I observed were narrow,
    lacking rails, so I might fall.
    Needless to say my mind was set,
    though also filled with misery.

    I climbed steadily into the abyss
    but suddenly below there came a hiss.
    I rushed in panic up the stair,
    for safety now I had no care.
    To my delight,
    I saw a light.
    I leaped for it in my fright,
    and plunged down into the night.

    ~~~~
    The Island
    My fellow poets and I were aboard The Poet's Ship.
    We sailed into the bay and debarked onto land.
    A small group of pale warriors came with me,
    and as one, we traveled inland to the treasure.
    We grew tired soon, and stopped for a sit.
    I took from the ground a pile of sand.
    Though something was in it, so they gathered to see,
    The jewel I found was of untold measure.
    Yelling with excitement, we ran towards the ship.
    Now at the sea, we saw that it was not on land.
    Rather it chose to sail, and it left without me.
    Leaving me alone with my valueless treasure.
    ~~~~

    I know when you're right.
    I know when you're wrong.
    I know when you're alive.
    I know when you're dead.
    I know when you're blind.
    I know when you're lit.

    I can see you drifting through space,
    tumbling through your darkest dreams.
    No one is going to hear the screams.
    The reaper now, you must face.

    Would you think it possible, this early?
    You are not in control.
    You're carried off, like a note in a song.
    A puppet of a true artisan.
    The eternal clock spins in a lonely circle,
    with you forever trapped in the numbers.

    ~~~~
    The Widow
    Changing shape just like a cloud,
    what's the name you go by now?
    Full of love or sweating hate
    your presence one I can't escape.
    you hear advice
    but let it slip
    you crave appraise
    with small sips
    the dream is lost
    forever there
    far from reach
    you cannot bear
    Get out of here,
    out the window; to the sky
    lose all your fears,
    become a widow; in my eyes
    Every night he goes to sleep
    haunted by the horrid past.
    He wants to see your face again,
    he wants this love to ever last.
    The paths are clear; I've chosen mine,
    full of lustful souls and pride.
    Run with me or run alone,
    into the never ending cold.
    Get out of here,
    out the window; to the sky
    lose all your fears,
    become a widow; in my eyes
    ~~~~

    Why?

    What turns a man into a cynic?
    What forces his thoughts to a finish?
    Is finding answers what makes it true?
    For truth I think is sought by so few.
    They say they know, or is it a lie?
    They seek the day, but just to get by.
    I ask such questions because I want to know,
    is a cynical path the one to go?

    Therin Hills

    The bow is raised,
    drenched in blood,
    an arrow shot in black.

    Sing while the angels cry,
    find inner peace to dry.

    A thousand lost,
    in the cave,
    the Windward one in pain.

    Aim for the dawning sun,
    Moon-dancers must be shunned.

    The trebuchet,
    armed with stone,
    fires in the cold.

    The light slowly turns away,
    we need the battle to be swayed.

    The walls are brought,
    crashing down,
    the dragons coming back.

    Drive them from the land,
    His will shall be had.

    Every soldier,
    burns in red,
    the numbers dwindle down.

    Raise the signal fire,
    our needs are surely dire.

    Storming through,
    the holy keep,
    every child is dead.

    Take the purest soul,
    surely he is bold.

    Lost in time,
    the ruins are,
    forgotten in the past.

    Sail down the river,
    give him bow and quiver.

    The battle lost,
    but not the war,
    the conflict carries on.

    Retreat back to the depths,
    their secrets are well too kept.

    They're shouting now,
    shouts of joy,
    the king retakes the throne.

    Evil shall not prevail,
    for tainted hearts but fail.

    A Day Like Any Other

    Laying, face in sheets
    dead in bed
    The Atlas of the world.
    The only life in the city of dead,
    blissful souls,
    waiting for death's cold grip.
    Once with a powerful visage,
    food in the sewers.

    Don't expect the sun tomorrow.
    I swallowed it whole.
    Though the warmth did not comfort.

    Inadequacy or delicacy?

    Surrounded by death and disease
    in my weather-worn shack
    pay no attention to me,
    it's just a day like any other

    ~~~~
    Ophelia
    The serenity of the forest in shadow
    numerous graves sheathed in a cloak
    I've come across another dimension.
    Every face stood and mocked,
    all of the hideous shadow folk
    marched me down into the swamp.
    There were endless devils, unlawful;
    senses blurred and intertwined.
    They brought me into the night,
    their tight grips warming my throat
    converged in the moon shine.
    ~~~~

    The Dead Sea

    I stand idle
    and watch you drown.
    The waves push and pull
    the darkness closes in
    the freezing depths
    of the black hole ocean.

    Yes, I stand idle
    and watch you drown.
    I've not found myself,
    so how could I help?
    I'd only push you further down.

    ~~~~
    Laying in my room, I peered out the window.
    The rain fell from the sky, the dogs went running by.
    The dogs were shot when they left the ghetto.
    They never got the taste of freedom.
    They never savored the fruit of choice.
    They ran headfirst into a storm and didn't return.
    But I'd rather live in prison than die leaving.
    Livingroom Blues
    Isn't it a lovely day,
    laying on the couch?
    I can't even open my mouth to say,
    the money's in my pouch.
    For here I sit,
    head in the sky.
    Like a dog I'll fetch a stick,
    a command I shan't deny.
    I'll disregard my eyes as decrepit,
    and see through my own ears.
    It's something that I must admit;
    I'm talking with the shears.
    There's no use in asking why,
    They just weren't meant.
    So I turned it off and waved goodbye,
    for I feel quite content.
    The quietness is mine alone,
    with no one else to share.
    If only then, if only I'd known,
    This wouldn't be mine to bare.
    And so I'm chained to the wall,
    the world can now resume.
    I am here within you all,
    the Shade of the Living Room.
    Remember That Place
    I'm trying to think of a noun for your eyes,
    but I gotta remember that sound you go by.
    I think you might've mentioned it twice,
    and I know for sure your intentions were nice.
    Maybe I can remember that place,
    where my gaze first found your face.
    You're going so fast, in such a rush,
    keep it up, you're making me blush.
    So lets run down and jump in the sea,
    I'll push you a little when you bump into me.
    Well the sand burns and because of the heat,
    I'll remember it's here on the beach we did meet.
    We've come here on our second year,
    and I know there will be more with you, my dear.
    You're going so fast, it's such a rush,
    holding my hand, you're making me blush.
    You're going so fast, oh, the rush,
    your loving kisses are making me blush.
