There has been a few posts about this subject before, most noticeably these two:

My main question is how to makes the changes to make use of cries for the limbo slots. These two threads does a good job telling you what to do, but they fail on the how to do it. How should the new data look like (or the old one for that matter)? Where is the pointer to change in Emerald? Why does the "Repoint the table at:" part of the first link have what appears to be completely different spots between Emerald and Fire Red (Emerald as a bunch of data, but Fire Red has a lot of 00)?
What I'm basically asking for is a tutorial on getting this to work, and to assign/redirect cries to the limbo slots once done.
