    The colorful, rainbow colored wheel spins quickly, while upbeat synth-rooted music blasts in the background. "Are you ready for the most advanced game ever?" a voice yells. The voice's booming nature is enhanced by an added echo effect to emulate extreme emotions. "Then get ready because we're introducing, from the inventors of the Porygon Household AI: The Pocket Monster Battle Computer, also known as, the Pokedex!" The item appears as a small dot, spinning as it appears to move closer and much bigger. The device is a red and rectangular device, with a blue light in the top part and many outlets for plug in devices. "Here we have full computer functionality!" the voices echoes as the device opens while spinning, "The ability to remotely connect with friends!" images flicker across the screen of the device, "And of course, your very own Pocket Monster, or what we call Pokemon!" The device fades a dark color and nearly disappears into the background while various Pokemon are shown, and then three in a row, Pachirisu, Pichu, and Togepi. "Each Pokemon is unique, and each one will grow according to how YOU treat it! The artificial intelligence is specifically designed to react in every way you treat it! In stores June 30th!" The commercial ends.



    Backstory:

    This is an alternate Pokemon universe, or rather, the universe is structured differently. At the point when the RP starts, Pokemon has just been widespread introduced throughout the world. They, or at least, the majority of the first ones, are introduced as Pocket Monsters, also known as "Pokemon." They are manmade creatures, although, there has been one Pokemon existing for many years, not called such until now: Porygon. Porygon however, serve as an artificial intelligence, working many households. When discovered that Porygon could combat viruses in the systems of computers, as well as other malfunctioning Porygon within the system, it was given the idea to create Pokemon, specialized computer anti-virus software also capable of doing the job, albeit in specialized ways. However, among children, it is much more popular as a competitive sport, and a sort of, virtual pet. The Pokemon have a large lifespan, and a near-perfect AI created to nearly simulate perfectly actual life. Who are the makers of such programs? None other than Silph Co. of course!


    Silph Co. is the technology center of the world, having locales in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova. Their expert craft has allowed for Pokemon raising to be 100% accessible to all ages. Using omni-tool devices called, "Pokedexes," people are able to train, battle, research, and so much more with their Pokemon. Among the many features are including but not limited to: the ability to project detailed battles via their 4'x 5' screens, less detailed battles on their smaller 1'x 1.5' screens, a touch screen which allows for easy navigation, a pull out miniature keypad for more usage, and of course a mic for giving commands. Most if not all functions on the Pokedexes are available on computers, accessible through wireless connections on the Pokedex, and wired ports if needed.

    Pokemon do "level up" and grow stronger after training, a result of program sorting out its code for the user. The reason for this is that the AI's settings require, for a more intuitive and flawless bonding experience," a start at square one" learning approach. This means that while beginner Pokemon can take care of minor issues such as very minor Spyware, higher level Viruses require more experience. Moves are unlocked via experience, and not learned within battles or directly after reaching specific levels, but rather an online system where moves are given as prizes for hard work. Reasons for this require to connect are simply to avoid glitches in the programming. Training with Pokemon works in a different way, and is basically limitless in possibilities. With the right creative mind behind it, infinite methods are possible. The ability to create custom environments to test out abilities, the ability to test out against "bots," the ability to train with another; this basically allows for multiple styles of training akin to what Pokemon would be able to do in real life, only inside a program. The Pokedex comes with its own system, although computers are far more advanced with programs such as the "area design software." Pokemon, at this point, cannot evolve, as evolutions have not been created.

    Porygon are connected differently than standard Pokemon, connected wirelessly to a transmitting device controlling all functions set for said Porygon. These are then controlled by wired systems, with wireless backups. Porygon are used mainly for programmable work, such as organizing files, chores around the house (because the Pokemon world is futuristic, try and argue otherwise), and antivirus work. Porygon are much more specifically programmed, and at the same time, much more variable. Constant upgrades are always being made to the Porygon models, however, they too contain an AI, although it's much less advanced than the other Pokemon, which is counteracted by their immediate competence after download, requiring no previous actions to function perfectly.

    Battles work slightly differently. When sending a Pokemon into a computer system outside of its habitat to fight, or simply into a battle arena, the Pokemon is allowed a set of moves. The amount of moves allowed starts at three and, like moves, increases with level but is only accessed via online scanning. The amount however, has no cap. When the set amount of moves is selected, the Pokemon is transferred to the battle location: a digitally built arena. Attacks are simply called out vocally, although variations upon them may be used, whether they will work or not depends on how successfully trained the Pokemon is, as the AI may be excellent, but not perfect. How an attack is aimed and how it strikes is first scanned graphically in a simulator with millions of pre-determined situations, then by analyzing the effects of the said attacks on the part of the body of the Pokemon, each having their own in-depth biological files. The damage is determined by a gauge that determines the power of the move, and compares it with the training given and artificially created stamina that the Pokemon has. A certain algorithm uses these factors along with the attacks, to create a simulation of real "battles." In essence: a really intricate system.

    The Pokemon Phenomenon is about to explode, and there will be many adventures along the way. How will you fare? Are you a bad enough dude? Let's find out!

    How do Types work in a Computer?


    Normal: Normal moves are very precise (as in, require specific direction) but also very versatile (as in, easy to use in many situations), and can solve any problem given proper direction: (Example: The move scratch can not only strip circuits but also conduct an electrical charge from one end to another)

    Fire: Fire moves are destructive and have a tendency to completely destroy data, i.e. incinerate. (Example: The move Flame wheel can be used to travel along a single line of data and without having to go back, completely destroy it all)

    Water: Water is used more as a team role, as it creates flow for other attacks to travel through, and adapts well, but is not necessarily good on its own, although one thing it can do on its own is slow down, although not as effective as psychic attacks, (combined however…) (Example: Water gun can be used as a channel for attacks like thunderbolt or SolarBeam for more power)

    Electric: Electricity feeds many of the functions inside a computer and allows for control of many inside devices; however, its destructive capabilities are very limited. (Example: Discharge can be used to transfer energy from circuit to another)

    Grass: Grass is a very infectious but also easily weakened force. Not as infectious as poison, but its lesser damage is hampered by its survivability, (or in less confusing terms, you can try and defend against grass attacks, but a little bit will always go through) (Example: Leech Seed will sap all the data out of a program, and will continue to sap unless the seed is destroyed, not just the vines)

    Ice: Ice moves are very hard to weaken, and hard to defend against, but their overall use is limited (Example: Icy Wind can slow down transferring of data, but while effective, there's not much else it can do outside of fighting)

    Fighting: Fighting moves are extremely independent, and any help by outside forces normally hinders their power, however great or limited (Example: Force Palm is a good move to speed something up, but with the addition of say, Dark Pulse, it would make it much less powerful)

    Poison: Poison is probably the second most powerful type attack in the computer universe, able to infect and corrode nearly everything, and very hard to get rid of. The only downside is the use in battle is not as versatile. (Example: Sludge can cause an entire branch of a system to corrode with one shot; however, a water attack can easily clean it out)

    Ground: Ground is very widespread, but very minimalist. The power at first seems great, but the effects it has on everything are minimal, which add up to that initial power The only true upside is it's durability – near impossible to block. (Example: Earthquake could cause a massive weakening of structures inside, which would only be truly useful along side a move such as Hyper Beam)

    Flying: Flying attacks are riskier normal type attacks – that's all that's need to be said. More effect for less durability. (Example: Aerial Ace can be used to damage a certain area of a rampaging virus)

    Psychic: Due to the electric nature of the world, conventional psychic attacks are variations on electric attacks, but true psychic attacks are more modification and less control. The downside is their destructive force, which is border-laughable. (Example: Psybeam can be used to change the course of a certain virus by firing into its programming banks)

    Bug: Bug type attacks are the most deadly in the world – not the most destructive immediately – but they have the ability to infect, manipulate, gradually destroy, and even duplicate. (Example: X Scissor can not only kill anything within its X shape, but also infect machines with the X, and cause slight downgrading)

    Rock: Rock type attacks are akin to fighting type attacks because of their emphasis on pure destruction, but they are also constructive, able to fill in missing parts with a somewhat useable niche. The disadvantage is their unreliability and low accuracy. (Example, Rock Blast can not only knock away parts of a program one at a time, but also rebuild it with those same rocks, only the parts won't be nearly as efficient)

    Ghost: Ghost type attacks are more about disassembling rather than just blowing things up, and able to, if used correctly, take out entire structures with one move (Example, Shadow Sneak can easily take out an entire circuit with one sweep)

    Dragon: Dragon Type Attacks have the most potential for destruction, as their ability to combine with almost any attack and also be powerful on their own allow for extremely destructive moves. (Example: Dragon Pulse can be combined with moves like Hydro Pump and Flamethrower to create an insane twister of power capable of wiping out entire systems with one shot, immediately)

    Dark: Dark Type attacks have a very niche use of illusion, but it excels in this and attacking prowess as well, with many attacks sharing common ground with other types of attacks. (Example: Dark Pulse confuses a virus to thinking its path is the other way, as well as causing a branch to temporarily shut down)

    Steel: Steel type attacks are used near-completely for construction outside of battle, with moves like Steel Wing serving as strengthening tools (Example: Flash Cannon strengthens an entire structure while also having the ability to form a gigantic solid brick when combined with the right move)

    Main Plot / Few Things to Note

    You're basically a person from Unova, who lives in Castelia city, who took a interest in the Pocket Monster Battle Computer, in other words: the Pokedex, which in that Pokedex, you'll receive your first Pocket Monster, aka. Pokemon. With that pokemon, you'll be able to enter battle situations, for example, Tournaments, S.I.M battles, even Pokemon Contests. You'll be able to receive awards, more Pokemon, moves for your pokemon, and much, much, more along the way. It all depends on the events.

    The RP does not have a completely linear plot line, but rather follows in comic book style, having episodic chapters rather than a single linear event (though there is a main plot that will get introduced). As events go on, more Pokemon will be made, more discoveries about the system will be made, new enemies will be found, and so much more! I have planned enough starting events for the RP, and more will be made as it goes on. However, the outcome of said planned events, while slightly predetermined, is not completely set in stone, so there will be some variation from what's planned.

    With this main plot -- a evil Team will reveal itself. Team Cipher, a team that uses beings known as "Shadow Pokemon" do a number of harmful things; insert viruses, destroy networks, which in turn will cause havoc in the outside world. Your main job, stop them before the world gets in a havoc.
