First I want to say that I don't know exactly where to put this topic, so sorry if I'm off.

I'd like to introduce you to my concept of an expanded Pokemon world. While the Pokemon world from the games and anime is mostly based on Japan, my completely different continent is based on America or Europe, but it's still a fictional world. The countries, the cities, it's all made up and not found anywhere in the world.

My brand new country is called Atlantica and this country is also divided into different regions. In this land, there are new Pokemon, new technologies and many other things that you will not find in any game or anime. Many other things are the same or similar to the original games or anime. Some things are called differently in this country, but they are more or less what you already know.

    So, to the detailed description...

    Atlantica
Atlantica is the name of a distant country where live hundreds of different Pokémon. This country is very technologically advanced and even the technology related to Pokemon is more advanced or different here.

    Atlantica Poké Ball
Poké Ball in Atlantica is not much different than in the world known from games and anime. It has very few differences in appearance. There are only three Atlantica types of Poké Balls - Poké Ball, Super Ball and Master Ball. Years ago, there was a Dark Ball developed and used by the Atlantica Mafia that made Pokemon more aggressive. However, these days Poké Balls are a relic and are used only in exceptional cases.

    Poké Trap
The Poké Trap is the successor to the Poké Ball in Atlantica. It is a small cube-shaped metal device with a sphere of an unknown gem in the center where the Pokémon is stored in the form of energy. While catching a Pokémon, the Poké Trap will glow blue and white and the Pokémon will be pulled inside the gem. Overall, technology of the Poké Trap is very similar to the Poké Ball, but much more effective.
The first version of Poké Traps caused great pain to Pokémon during capture, and so their use was banned by the Atlantica Pokémon Society Council and the Atlantica Government itself. After the upgrade, these flaws were removed and Poké Traps are now safe for Pokémon.
Poké Traps are mostly used by Pokémon Hunters and expert trainers (champions), while a lot of regular trainers still use Poké Balls... but they slowly stop manufacturing them.

    Poké-Community
The Poké Community is a trainer association officially registered with the Atlantica Pokémon Society Council. Everything about the local counterpart of the Pokémon League falls under this community.

    Pokémon Battleground
This is the Atlantica counterpart of Pokemon Gyms. Instead of badges, trainers here will receive a digital signature of the owner of the Battleground in the official app of the Atlantica Pokémon Society Council and the Poké Community. After obtaining at least 5 out of 15 signatures, trainer can participate in the Tournament and the Grand Tournament.

Pokémon Tournament / Pokémon Grand Tournament
After the smaller qualification battles, the remaining 6 participants will compete in the main battles and have to fight their way to the finals. First to third place wins the Poké Community Cup.
First place winners can participate in the Grand Tournament.

    Pokemon Championship
The Atlantica Poké Community Championship is held every two years and is open only to the winners of the Grand Tournament. Only fully evolved Pokémon, Pokémon that do not have another evolution stage, and Legendary Pokémon can be used in battles.
The winner of the Championship will forever have a photo of himself and the Pokémon he competed with in the Atlantica Hall of Fame.

    Pokemon Hunters
For example, Hunters hunt Pokémon for the Science Department of the Atlantica Pokémon Society Council. They are often sent on missions to other countries to catch Pokémon that are not found in Atlantica. When they transport them to Atlantica, they release them into the wild here or transport them to scientists who study them. Hunters can also be hired by weaker trainers to safely catch some stronger Pokemon for them. However, this usually backfires on these trainers as they cannot control such a Pokemon and usually they don't obey them. Hunters use only Poké Traps. To those trainers who hire them, they will then transfer the Pokémon from the Poké Trap to the Poké Ball for free, or sell them the Poké Trap with the Pokémon inside.

    Atlantica Regions
Like the land from the games and anime, Atlantica is divided into several larger regions that have their own Battlegrounds and Poké Community Tournaments.

Caridonna, Atlantica - The largest region of Atlantica. The capital is located here.
Emeron, Atlantica - Most modern technology was created in Emeron.
    Dator, Atlantica
    Ersai, Atlantica
Plarose, Atlantica - An area with a total of 100 Pokemon from Kanto and Johto.
    Chillaya, Atlantica
    Sinnear, Atlantica
Perenas, Atlantica - A medium-sized region in the west. It is close to El Asitor.
El Asitor, Wicana - Small island region. It has its own government.

The most Important Cities of Atlantica
Whiteshore City - Seaside city in the Perenas region.
Midburgh - The capital of Atlantica. It is home to the government and the Pokémon Society Council.
Hazelpass - Town with the Tournament Stadium of the Plarose region.
Eagletown - A medium town in the Plarose region.
Silvergrove - A town in the Emeron region. One of the most modern cities in Atlantica.
Rosebourne - A smaller town once controlled by the Mafia.
Edgemere - A town in the Plaros region. There is a research laboratory. Home of the most famous hunters.
Westpost - Port town on the Atlantica side of El Asitor.
Vallalona - The capital of the El Asitor region. A small part of the city is part of Wicana country.

    Ironzard
Steel/Fire type. Evolution stage of Steelmeleon. In appearance, it is a shiny silver Charizard whose skin is resistant to all physical attacks.

    Skelephant
Ghost type. An elephant-like Pokémon with a bony head (skull) with long tusks and dark brown fur on its body. Skelephant can summon a dark purple mist that allows it to move through space (teleport) or through solid objects. He also uses this mist as his defense. Poké Balls are ineffective on him because they pass through him in the mist. It's best to catch it in a Poké Trap.

    Viperk
Poison type. A pokemon that looks like a snake. He is something like the Atlantica version of Ekans, Arbok or Seviper. It can be in a length of 2 - 5 meters. The largest individuals are usually leaders in nature.

This form of Neopard is a bit darker and more depressed. It is said that when a Neopard dies and has some unfinished business in this world or doesn't want to leave a loved one behind, its corpse will evolve into a Spiripard. A Spiripard's life is then limited by closing its business or losing a loved one (Pokémon or Trainer).

    Mechpard
Cyber type. A Pokemon with a feline-like appearance. Evolution stage of Neoparda. Mechpard looks like a robotic version of Neopard. It can be evolved by using a Cyber Collar manufactured by Atlantica Tech Group in the Emeron region. So the Mechpard is a man-made form of the Neopard and is not found in the wild. There are also completely new types in Atlantica...
Nocturnal - a type of Pokemon found only at night. For some, daylight is dangerous.
Prime (Main, superior) - a type of Pokemon that is superior to others (better) due to some characteristics.
Cyber - a type of Pokemon enhanced with cybernetic implants.

I still don't know where I will use this. Whether in a fan-fiction or a fan-game.. or something else.
I've kind of started working on a Pokemon Hunters story, but I don't know what it's going to be yet... if I'm going to do it at all. I started the story about hunters mainly because of my favorite graphic creation - photo manipulation.
    Here's a small sample:

    So what do you think?
If you have an idea, suggestion or question... go for it. I'd love to hear everything.
