[Eventing Question] problems with following other trainer?

So i made my event for making my trainer follow the leader, but when the leader tries to go into the next route, he stops moving, even though my event says he needs to keep going. What do i do about that, how do I make him keep walking up into the next route?

How does your leader try and go into the next route? Does he go through a gate, or are the two maps connected?

should i like split the walk script as he goes up against the route? or maybe teleport him forward a square? idk what to do

Is the leader by any chance trying to walk over a place where an event used to exist?

im pretty sure events cant leave a map (excluding dependant ones and the player) even if connected; will have to stealth transfer the player to the next map to get around this.
