Hello fellow Interwebbers! Today, I'm coming to you guys about the Pokémon Shades Championship (PSC). The PSC will consist consist of 9 teams, each team claiming two Pokemon types.

These nine teams will go head to head until only one stands: The Champion

    ---

START DATE: Unknown (The condition must be met: 9 players must be enlisted.)

    Requirements for Participation:
(Note: Whether the matches will be hosted on Showdown or Sun/Moon is undecided and will be decided by the players participating. There is a poll further down the post.)

    - You must have a valid copy of Pokemon Sun or Moon (or Pokémon Showdown depending on how votes go).

    - You must have the ability to Create and Battle with a Competitive Team.

    - A team name for your type.

You don't have to have, but it would be nice if you did:

    - a YouTube channel. If you have a channel, you can narrate your battle. If not, another PSC participant with a chance will narrate your match.

    - a 3Ds Capture Card or screen recorder (such as NTR CFW), since sharing a Battle Video is possible. If you do have one, that would be preferable, if you don't, send the Battle Video Code to a participant with capture capabilities (if we're doing game card format)

IF YOU WANT TO JOIN, comment with this format (Mine's in the comments if you don't get it.)

    - Types you want to apply for:

    - Your Drafts:

    - Team Name:

    - YouTube Channel? Name?

    - 3ds Recording Capabilities?

    - How experienced are you in competitive 1-10

    ---

So, let's start with THE DRAFT:
    - Each player will draft 12 Pokemon from their chosen types as long as they are not banned (See Ban List).

    - Two of those Pokemon can be Mega.

    - Each Player may draft ONE Ultra Beast, ONE Trio (RegiRock, Terrakion, Articuno, Uxie, etc) OR ONE Guardian Pokémon (Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Fini, Tapu Bulu)

    - You must draft at least four Pokémon from a chosen type. (I chose Normal and Dark [to go with the "Shades" theme.] I must draft at least 4 Dark or 4 Normal. I cannot draft 9 Dark and 3 Normal, but 8 Dark and 4 Normal, 6 Dark and 6 Normal, 7 Dark and 5 Normal, etc are legal.)

    - You do not have to bring a Mega into battle. (Ex. If you draft Mega Blastoise, you can bring the Mega, or the regular). You cannot draft a normal and use the Mega. You must draft the Mega.

    - A Pokemon can only battle if it starts as your type. (Dragon cannot draft Charizard X because he has to start as a Dragon to battle.)

    - If your Pokemon changes form via an attack/ability/mega evolution, it can change out of your specific type, so long as it started in your type. (Imposter, Protean, Megas such as Mega Gyarados [if drafted in Flying] all work.)

    - A Pokemon can only be drafted twice. (This primarily concerns Rotom and Silvally. I'm not aware of any Pokémon that have more than two forms of different types [Megas aside] The first two to draft them will get them)

    - You can draft multiple Pokemon from a species (Haunter/Gengar is legal.)

    - Each team will have a "Wild Card" Pokemon assigned to them (from their existing drafts) at the start of each week. Each match will have a 33% chance to be a Wild Card Match. If it is a Wild Card Match, both Players must bring their Wild Card.

    ---

    BATTLE FORMAT:
    Singles

    TOURNAMENT RULES:
    - No duplicate items

    - No duplicate Pokemon (as I said earlier, Haunter/Gengar or Porygon2/PorygonZ is ok, whereas two Rotom Forms are not.)

    - Every Pokemon has to be used at least once in the tournament.

    - You cannot have a moveset intended to make the battle last forever

    - Evasion Boosting or Accuracy Lowering Moves are not allowed.

    - Swagger is allowed.

    - OHKO moves are legal.

    - Suicide moves are legal. (Selfdestruct, Explosion, Healing Wish, etc.)

    - Moves that change the player's or opponent's type are allowed.

    ---

    TOURNAMENT DURATION:
    - The tournament will last approximately 11 weeks.

    - The first 8 weeks consists of one match a week. Everybody battles everybody; everybody has one bye week.

    - At the end of this 8 week session, the player with the lowest Win-Loss ratio will be eliminated. (If two players have an identical Win-Loss ratio, then the player who knocked out the most Pokémon during their battles will remain in the running. If that number is the same, then they will battle.)

    - Week 9 and 10 are playoffs. 8 teams battle in Week 9; 4 lose. 4 teams battle in week 10; 2 lose. (teams that lose previous weeks have battles to determine placing.)

    - Week 11 is the Championship match.

    POLL:
Should the PSC be hosted on Showdown or Sun and Moon?

Note: Please consider all variables: Showdown is the easiest to build teams for, connect with competitor, record, and are definitely the most accessible for all participants.
Sun and Moon Wifi Battles will require a great deal more effort to build teams for, and most players will probably not be able to record footage easily. However, Sun and Moon battles tend to draw more viewers on YouTube than Showdown battles, and Wifi Battles are typically more engaging. Consider all options as a participant, and cast your vote below. Majority rules.
