In Black2/White2 only (and I guess gen seven but we're not talking about gen vii here) there was an item portion of the bag known as "Free space". You could put any item you wanted in there. It was removed almost immediately from the subsequent generation.
What did you think of having a free space in your bag? I put all my useless Key items in there and some useless items that did nothing, so I definitely liked that we had a free space area. I also put Max Repels in there, since that's an item I used the most.
