  • How I wish I could talk to people irl about Pokémon without scaring them with my obsessiveness.

You can, just at different places. Say if you were at Nintendo World NYC, you could easily talk to many people about Pokemon. Or at a TCG tournament near you, you could go and talk to many people there. Or at a competitive Pokemon tournament, I'm sure you could talk to people there. Or at Comic-Con, if you are going. Or at your nearest hobby store, they might sell Pokemon cards or something. There will probably be someone buying cards there. I know at my nearest hobby store, they host Pokemon TCG games. There's lots of places really, just look for people who love Pokemon!

Yeah, the Nintendo World conversation went something like this:

Him: Hey, ask me if you have any questions!
Me: Okay, thanks! -starts talking about B2W2 with Tom-
Him: Oh, are you excited for B2W2?
    Me: You...have no idea.
Tom: Did you hear about the old Gym Leaders coming back?
    Him: ...What?
    Me: -explains world tournament-
Him: That's awesome! And there are new main characters right?
Me: -spouts off all the info about the main characters-

    -conversation continues like this-

Him: ...Okay, so I'll ask you if I have any questions.

You just have to find the right people to talk to.

If they blatantly refuse to accept who you are they probably aren't your true friend. Otherwise just give 'em some time to get to know you better.

@Tojours I am going to remember that

  • No one has posted in here for nearly two weeks, what is this bullcrap. Simply unacceptable, right Toujours?

Speaking of anime conventions, I went to one last weekend and I saw someone dressed up as that tree monkey from B/W. I saw a Misty cosplayer as well but I think that was all for Pokemon.

If you could be any Pokemon, what would you be and why? Answer the question with the restriction of having to choose a "human shaped" Pokemon too.

Sceptile, because he's one of my favorite Pokémon and Oshawott and Grovyle aren't nearly big enough to be a humanoid.

  • Mewtwo cause I'd actually be pretty ticked off at having to live as Pokemon, because then I'd never be able to drive a car or get a job as a CEO. And Mewtwo doesn't seem too happy about its existence as a Pokemon, either.

  • Blehhhh

Today, I saw a whole BUNCH of Pokémon cards that I was going to get, and they were being given away (because church event). So I took some, and come to find out they're all fake.

China, why? Why would you do something like this??

Most of the cards they sell here are fake, you can only get authentic ones in well-known game stores. Sad, I know, that's why I didn't bother to collect them anymore.

I generally trust supermarkets with that kind of thing.

  • Game and Gamestation for the UK sell Pokemon cards. Toys R' Us and Tescos also sell them. Same with Argos. I generally get my stuff on the net though.

  • Spoiler:

Ahh yes, the Internet. What websites do you generally use to buy those TCG cards and Pokémon merchandise? Ebay?

Also Zeffy what did you mean by "well known" game stores? What is an example?

You see, most game stores here in the country also sells a couple of TCG cards, plushies and the likes. Those in the supermarkets aren't supplied by the same supplier of those they sell in the game stores, they are supplied by goody-goody people who like to take advantage of those kids who don't know which is authentic and which isn't.

I haven't been buying any cards for the past 5 years or so, so it might have changed.
