  • Greetings!

This is going to be a compilation of Pokemon and abilities which you may want to keep around for reasons other than battling or to fill out your collection. I'm making it for myself, and posting it here in case others find it useful as well. Note that whenever possible, I will refer only to fully evolved pokemon, as having to worry about your pokemon evolving and losing the ability in question is dumb. I will also only refer to pokemon with Hidden Abilities where the option does not exist to get the ability on a pokemon in its regular ability slot. Without further ado, let's get started!

    Breeding Pokemon:
These are Pokemon you want to keep around for breeding purposes. You definitely want them if you have any intent to breed Pokemon.

Ditto - Can pass on IVs using a Destiny Knot, or Nature using an Everstone, with ANY breedable pokemon. Ideally, you'd have 25 Dittos (one of each nature) w/ Everstones, + 2 Perfect IV Dittos holding Destiny Knots. This is definitely overkill, however if you have the time and resources it's optimal for breeding.
Coalossal - Steam Engine, Magma Armor, and Flame Body all have the effect of halving the time it takes for an egg to hatch if a pokemon with the ability in question is in your party. Coalossal has two of those 3 as non-hidden abilities, and thus when captured outside of Raid Dens is guaranteed to have the desired effect. Other Pokemon can have Flame Body (the Chandelure evolutionary line, for example) but only Carkol and Coalossal have it on both slots.

More or Fewer Pokemon in General: All of these make Pokemon appear more or less frequently, but still in normal proportions, with normal abilities, etc. All of these require the Pokemon with the ability to be your lead Pokemon.

More Wild Pokemon - Arena Trap (Dugtrio) and Illuminate (Lanturn, Shiinotic) double the wild pokemon encounter rate in general. No Guard (Machamp) increases it by 50%. Shiinotic is likely the best bet for this, based on the moveset providing lots of tools to put a pokemon to sleep or otherwise help capture it once encountered.

More High Level Wild Pokemon - Hustle (Delibird, Togekiss, Durant, Dracozolt), Pressure (Weavile, Dusknoir, Bisharp, Corviknight, Eternatus), and Vital Spirit (Delibird) All increase the odds of encountering a "High level" pokemon by 50%

Fewer Wild Pokemon - Stench (Garbodor, Skuntank), White Smoke (Torkoak, Centiscorch), and Quick Feet (only available as a hidden ability) reduce the odds of encountering wild pokemon by 50%. Infiltrator (Whimsicott, Meowstic, Noivern, Dragapult) makes wild pokemon less likely to appear, but by an indeterminate amount. Snow Cloak (Glaceon, Mamoswine, Froslass, Bearctic) and Sand Veil (Dugtrio, Heliolisk) reduce the encounter rate by 50%, but only in specific weather (snowstorms and sandstorms, respectively).

Fewer Low Level Wild Pokemon - Intimidate (Arcanine, Gyarados, Hitmontop, Mawile) and Keen Eye (Farfetch'd, Hitmonchan, Pelipper, Sableye, Braviary, Meowstic) both have a 50% chance to block a wild encounter if it would be with a Pokemon who is 5 levels or more below the level of the Pokemon with the ability in question.

Forcing a specific Pokemon Type: All of the following abilities drastically alter the random encounter table, forcing a specific type to be encountered at least 50% of the time when it is present in the encounter table at all. They also require the Pokemon with the ability to be in the lead. Try them, you'll see.

Flash Fire - Forces Fire Type. Ninetails, Flareon, Arcanine, Chandelure, Heatmor, and Centiscorch all have it as non-hidden abilities, so you have plenty of options.

Harvest - Forces Grass Type. Only available on Trevenant, and only as a hidden ability. As a heads up, that means you can only get it from a max raid den, and Trevenant only shows up in 3 of those, and only on the red beam varieties as well.

Lightning Rod / Static - Forces Electric Type. Lightning Rod is on Rhyperior, Manectric, Togedemaru, and Pinchurin, while Static is on Raichu, Manectric, Stunfisk, and Arctozolt

Magnet Pull - Forces Steel type. Not obtainable in the game directly, you need to trade in a Meltan from Pokemon Home to have this.

Storm Drain - Forces Water Type. On Gastrodon.

Manipulate Wild Pokemon Attributes: These abilities manipulate intrinsic characteristics on encountered wild pokemon. They do not modify the encounter table, just what values pokemon encountered have. They also only work if the Pokemon with the ability is in the lead.

Synchronize - Forces encountered pokemon to have the same nature as the Pokemon with the ability. This is another one where you could have a Pokemon with this ability for each nature, so as to be able to acquire wild pokemon of a given nature as an alternative to breeding them. Espeon, Umbreon, Gardevoir, Musharna, Beeheeyem, and Indeedee all have this. Personally I harvested Munna for this as they were easy to find and capture in the fog, though other options are equally valid I'm sure.

Cute Charm - Forces encountered Pokemon to have the opposite gender, 2/3 of the time. This is most useful for getting specific gendered pokemon in species which do not have an even 50/50 split, especially for example Salandit which is normally 87.5% male but where only the female evolves. Clefable, Cincinno, and Sylveon have this. Of those, Clefable and Cincinno are far more likely to be female, while Sylveon is far more likely to be male.

Increased Item Gathering: These abilities increase the rate at which items are acquired.

Compound Eyes / Super Luck - Increases the rate at which wild pokemon will have a held item. This only works if the pokemon with the ability is in the lead. Compound Eyes is on Butterfree and Galvantula, while Super Luck is on Unfezant. Butterfree and Galvantula can use Thief to steal the held item, allowing you to run away and overall harvest held items faster than catching the pokemon, removing the item, and releasing the pokemon.

Honey Gather / Pickup - Both of these generate items on the Pokemon with the ability at the end of a battle out of thin air. They work regardless of where the Pokemon are in the party. Honey Gather is only on Combee and Ribombee and only gathers honey. Pickup allows for a variety of items to be created, dependant on the Pokemon's level. It is only on Gourgeist and not fully evolved pokemon, including Meowth and Zigzagoon.

    Other:

Sticky Hold / Suction Cups -
Gets you more bites while fishing. Malamar and Octillery have Suction Cups, Gastrodon and Accelgor have Sticky Hold.

Swarm - You hear more Pokemon cries. Escavalier, Orbeetle, and Durant have this.

I hope this helps! If I missed pertinent data please let me know.
