Pttera is a world full of strange things. From a weird gargoyle-man-pig, to a regular human, to a not so regular human, Pttera has everything. Fire, Magic, Destruction, War, Death, Blood, Guts, Grass, even...even... oxygen (gasp!)

+ Overview
Pttera is a strange place. It was created long before Earth was even thought of. Iikix, the Starforger created this world in his spare time. He wished to watch a world grow, and so he created Pttera. At first there was fire. And then more fire. Eventually some dirt, but mostly fire. After lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lost and lots and lots of fire (maybe even a bit more than that, no one knows for sure.), a world was formed. In his early days, Pterra was nothing more than a spherical sphere floating around in space. Eventually - as it so happens to occur in every world - life began. The first forms of life were simple, very simple. Single celled organism that lived in the vast ocean. Yes, ocean. There is one ocean. Just one. One. Ocean. One. These beings, now diversified enough to create multiple species, sprung legs and took flight. Err, I mean took... walk. I don't know, you know what I mean. As Iikix watched his the species build and develop and create civilizations, he realized something important: One species must be the control. One species must be able to keep the others in check. With this, he deemed that in times of great strife, a singular human being will be granted the power of Astral Projection: the ability to project one's very being into the astral plain, where Iikix resides. There they may connect with the great being and consult him for advice. This man is known as the Astral, and he is the most important being alive. Never before had there been an attempt of assassination against the Astral, until the world fell into Anarchy.
+ Geography
Pterra is split into to main sides, with many small islands in between. One major ocean splits the two down the vertical-central margin, with the two massive land masses split in other spots by large rivers, deltas, lakes, estuaries, etc. The western side of the world (Named "Sutropita") is mostly forest and plains areas. Lots of grass, trees, hills, naturally beautiful landscapes. Many tropical areas exist near the north-western area of the continent. Large rivers exist near the south-western. The center is a large rainforest-mountain range with very large waterfalls, as 3 rivers run through the area. The largest of the three ("Iikix's Waterway"), which starts around 7/10 up the face of the largest mountain in the range ("Paradise Peak")begins in a large well on top of the mountain where the water from precipitation has washed away the soil, leaving an extremely hardened stone basin that contains a large amount of water. The water flows down the face of the mountain towards the south-south-west. It falls over, forming a multitude of small waterfalls, and a few very large ones. The most famous of which is named "Paradise Ridge Falls". The waterfall cascades about 218 feet down. A small pathway has been formed behind the waterfall at its base, where the force of the water hitting the river is so strong that mist flies back up 70ish feet in the air, also completely soaking the pathway that runs behind it. The fall begins its tumble coming out of a very scenic view of tall trees on top of a large cliff. The face of the cliff is very flat, but caves in behind the waterfall, forming a dome shape behind it. Think of the shape similar to Niagra Falls, if it was less rounded and the fall only came out in the center of the wall. A smaller waterfall is visible off to the left. The river continues down the mountain, dropping off onto a second small waterfall that cascades over at speeds of over 180 mph. Those caught in this force are surely dead. It is considered one of the deadliest places on the entire planet, but also the most beautiful spot on the planet. The second largest river ("the Travail River") begins atop a central mountain in the western section of the range. It contains very few small waterfalls, but one massive one. This waterfall, named "Travail's Peak", peaks over the top of a large mountain where it cascades down 197 feet straight down into a cave. The bottom of the cave contains a large basin of water that is very clear and clean. The river continues out through the cave, coming out over a small ledge, creating a smaller waterfall that cascades about 50 feet, where the river follows the face of the mountain, splitting into the second two largest waterfalls on this river. Named "Twin Spires" the waterfalls start as one river at the top, but a large rock splits the flow of water enough to create two separate falls. The two falls begin two new rivers. The rivers cross over each other, with the right one going on top of the left one, and then follow the face of the mountain to the base. The third river ("Jaggedtooth River"), the smallest of the three, starts in the middle of the mountain range and flow backwards to the other two. Flowing towards the north-east, this river contains one waterfall, that isn't very large compared to the other two, but still isn't small by any means. This waterfall ("Holimin Falls") cascades down about 104 feet down a straight faced cliff. The view facing the opposite direction of the fall (With your back turned towards it) is extremely clear, with no trees blocking the view. From here one can see straight out into the plains and forests that lie beyond the mountain range.
The south-eastern side of the continent is mostly a large beach on the edge of a forest. In the central-west sector of the forest is a large hole that has been named Devil's Sink. The hole is filled with black water, that only the Mastyx's can touch. Any others are covered by it and intoxicated with an intense poison that eats away at any and all enzymes in the body, causing the body to stop reacting, and thus ending the poisoned one's life. The skin of the Mastyx's is covered by a thick triglyceride membrane that contains enzymes that destroy the substance.
The north-eastern side of the continent is mainly large forests, becoming snowy and eventually arctic near the north pole of the continent.
The eastern continent is called Vernalquasia. This side of the world is the polar opposite of Sutropita. This continent is ravaged by destruction. Many wars between the species that inhabit this area that is nicknamed "The Boiling Pot of Hell" have left it battered and destroyed. Not much can live there anymore, but the species that can are the most physically daunting species on earth. The north-western side of the continent is a destroyed beach with black sand on the edge of an post-apocalyptic style desert. The central are is truly the pit of Hell. A large volcano exists that frequently erupts in small pouts. If it were to fully erupt, the world could not stand the force and ash and debris it would leave behind. This volcano ("Iikix's Punishment") is the home to a very strange species: The Vernals. These creatures are capable of living in extreme temperatures and are capable of controlling fire. The south-western are is the same as the north-western except that it has grey sand, rather than black. It is also on the edge of a dead forest. The eastern side of the continent is the most livable, being below extreme-freezing near the north and moderate temperatures in the south. The entire area is plains with enough trees to provide materialistic growth, and enough water to support a few large settlements. Thought almost nothing can truly live here, the things that have found a way are very atoned to their environment and flourish here.
Each island has it's own unique properties. Only the major islands are very visited, as the smaller ones have very little use.
The largest of the islands, "Outworld Starforge 12" is a large military base for the humans that contains a powerplant powerful enough to create Starenergy weapons.
The second largest, "Exisle", is a strange place. It contains one cave and that's it. The face of the island is bare as can be, except for a single cave entrance. This cave extends deep into the ocean. Those that enter never come out.
The third largest, "Disciple's Descent" is an island filled with tall grass and a single watch tower in the middle. It is said that it used to be a burn ground for the dead bodies of the Second Great War, and that you can still hear their screams. Those that stay for too long may find themselves surrounded by the ghosts of the deceased. They are not pleased souls.
The fourth largest, "Prima" is an island inhabited by strange trees that talk to you. It is a magical place, and the center of all magical force within the planet. At it's center, Prima is said to house a ball of pure magic energy. Those that get too close will be consumed.
The fifth largest, and possibly the most interesting of the six, "Shifter Island" is an island that changes everyday. You go to sleep, wake up, and the island is different. You'll never see it be the same twice. Sometimes it will imitate a large turtle, and pretend to be alive. Some say that there is a very powerful being that controls the island, but no one knows for sure. A group of individuals is dedicated to finding the truth.
The sixth largest, "Nevermore Isle", is the home of despair and depression. The grass is purple, the air is stale. Few creatures live here, but those that do are torn and twisted and demented. Is a land torn apart by insanity. There's something in the air that causes creatures and people to go crazy. It messes with your mind. It puts you in a trance and takes you whole. Only brave and powerful beings enter the isle. Only fools enter expecting to return.

+ Main Races
Man
Man is the largest race on the planet. They are the most intelligent species on Pttera, but are among the weakest physically. They are mostly located in large towns and cities around the outskirts of Sutropita.
Mastyx
The Mastyx are a race of reptilian humanoids capable of withstanding extreme physical pressure before breaking. They are mostly located in the south-east of Sutropia in underground villages that run extreme distances.
Dishonored
The Dishonored are a species of raven-like humanoids that were born from extreme chemical testing done on Vernalquasia during the War of Three Horns. They were originally Plagued, but the chemicals messed with their genetics, spawning a new race. They exist only on Nevermore Isle.
Plagued
The Plagued are a species of disfigured humanoids that were spawned by genetics malfunctions in humans. They are the only species to inhabit Disciple's Descent, but there are only a very small number of them left, approximated at ~120. They reside close to the Watchtower and don't steer very far away from it. They worship it as if it was Iikix. The spirits do not notice the Plagued, as their soul has been destroyed in the process of creating such an abomination. They have taken to wearing Plague-doctor masks over their disfigured faces to hide their ugliness. Their pale-green skin bubbles with boils all over when they are perturbed, and solidifies into toxic slate when they are calm.
Vernal
The Vernal are a very strange species. They have smooth black skin that is sooty be nature. They can control fire, and withstand extreme temperatures. They only live around Iikix's Punishment. Though they can live elsewhere, no where else is hot enough or has enough fire for them to survive for a long time. They go dormant during the winter.
Jacolyte
The Jacolyte are a species of hare humanoids. They have powerful legs and can jump great distances. Though they move fast, they aren't the smartest species around and constantly find themselves in extreme danger. They live mostly in the forested areas of the South-Eastern section of Sutropita.
Vyrulent
The Vyrulent are a species of Gargoyles that live all around Vernalquasia. They look like stone, but when perturbed they burst to life, harnessing very fast flying capabilities and sharp talons. They feed off of nutrients in the dirt, or act as vampires and suck the blood from living victims.
Aero
The Aero are a species of large birds with sharp bone-blades on the end of their wings. They fly through the jungle, scissoring their way through the trees. They live in the tropical forests all over Sutropita. They rarely attack, but when perturbed have shown signs of extreme aggressiveness.
External
The External are a race of altered humans. They are extremely potent magicians, and came from a void located deep underground. Their skin is blue and shiny, and their veins (which are green) are very noticeable as their skin is somewhat translucent. They live on Prima and are very peaceful.
Klepto
The Klepto are human tiger crosses that can walk on all 4s or up tall, and are extremely camoflauged. They can blend into almost any setting in plane site, and are extremely aggressive. They appear all throughout the world and are very difficult to predict. They are quick and deadly and will leave their target dead in the streets with no signs of a struggle.
