  • Poetry isn't really my forte, but hey, may as well try it. (I'm not very creative....)
Completely free-form by the way, much more of a rant than a poem, but hey, I still consider this poetry even though it probably isn't. I don't write very often for a reason.

I'm hanging on the edge of Heaven,
    But I don't see beyond.
    I don't see a Heaven,
    I see nothing.
How can we believe in Heaven?
    Human reason can't resolve,
    that which is unknown.
    All for one,
    and one for all,
    a decent soul society.
If we can ascend to the above,
then no one really is free.
    How could I be condemned,
for sins I have not committed.
How can we believe in Heaven?
A power above all that decides the future as it happens?
    Human reason counters all.
We stand on our thoughts of the unknown,
because we can't understand what doesn't exist.
    And explanation for the unexplainable,
but what is the point in decipher that which can not be deciphered?
How can we believe in Heaven,
A place where our souls are sent to die.
I guess I'll never know some things under this sun,
Some things are just not meant to be known.
We're all the same in the concept of time,
So how can I be condemned for the things that I've done,
    when my intentions were good?
Oh how I wish there was a Heaven,
A place where my soul is sent to live in eternal bliss.
However, there can not be bliss without pain.
You don't know you're high until you are low.
You have to have pain to experience bliss.
I'm hanging on the Edge of Heaven,
    Ready to fall,
    I need it all,
    But I'll never know.
Somethings under this sun are not mean to be understood.
    God does not exist,
but how I wish he did.
    We are God.
We created God to explain the unexplainable.
God is a construct of our imagine.
Death is supposed to free you,
but if we can ascend above the sky,
    or descend below the surface,
then no one really is free.
    Human reason counters all.
There must be more than I can see,
    More than I can understand,
    More than I can fathom.
We strive for life as if Death was our aim,
    So Darkness come tonight,
I have no fear of what you hold,
    Darkness come alive,
I'm ready to take the fall.
    Curse or Repayment?
    Truth or Illusion?
Our entire lives condensed into one method of judgement.
A mother watches her baby die in her arms,
A father watches his son be burned alive in a house fire,
A husband lays next to wife as she dies,
Traumatic events that no human should have to go through,
Any God that would allow that to happen to innocent people is not a God I want to believe in.
I'm hanging on the Edge of Heaven,
And I think I'm ready to fall.
