    It's hot, but I'm freezing
    And it's dark, but I can see clearly
    It's bitter to taste, but ever so sweet
    It hurts, but I'm not in pain
    It's a good thing, but it's so wrong
    Its self explanatory, but I can't make sense of it
    I like it, I prefer it, but I hate it with such a passion
    I'm angry, but I'm kind of happy

    I'm distant, and so are you
    But we're going in opposite directions
    I'm sinking, falling into the earth
    It's eating me whole, and I'm not stopping it
    My feet are firmly on the ground
    And you're flying so high
    The stars are close, but only you can see them
    So goodbye, Mr. Astronaut.

    • Wow, that got me thinking. I loved the pure juxtaposition of you and the person directed, and the rhythm was awesome. Nice job.

    Thank you! I wrote it at 6am because I couldn't sleep... well, I guess the best ideas do come late at night. I never write anything good in the daytime.
