If you beat the Prime Cup in Pokemon Stadium back in the day, you could send a Pikachu that could learn Surf back to Pokemon Yellow. Surfing Pikachu had a special animation whenever you surfed. It looked like this:

Were you ever able to get Surfing Pikachu in Gen I? Obviously, Surfing Pikachu returned in later gens, but I wanted to talk about Gen I exclusively here since it was so hard to get back then. Nowadays, getting one is easy.
