Herein is a streamed playtest I'm doing of Shin Pokemon in order to do QA for the next big version update. This is primarily to beta test the built-in wild randomizer and nuzlocke mode.

Here is the link to the full playlist on youtube:

Stream 1 is mostly an overview of gameplay features and sanity checks to make sure certain things work. I play as the girl protagonist for this series since I've never used it for a full playthrough.

Trainer Violet will be competing against her rival Jack. The wild randomizer is activated in order to randomize Violet's starter choices. A stroke of luck allows her to choose an eevee, and Jack responds by choosing bulbasaur. With a bit of luck (and some save-stating for debugging purposes), Violet's initial party comes to: eevee, horsea, pidgey, magikarp, and abra.

Stream 2 picks up back in Viridian City. Violet makes her way around the Viridian Forest whilst defeating the bug catchers that challenge her. The random generator has populated the forest primarily with abras, and this serves as a curse for attempting to grind levels. Fortunately the bug catchers and wild psyducks provide enough of a challenge to build Violet's eevee, horsea, and pidgey to a good spot. Violet's abra is quite handy with its overworld teleportation.

Violet challenges Jack on Route 22. The fight is rather close, but good use of debuffs and a bit of luck sees Violet claim a victory with no casualties. Proceeding to Pewter City, Violet puts her horsea in the top spot. Horsea carries the whole team and short work is made of Brock and his gym.

Route 3 sees a machop added to Violet's party as well as a trail of defeated trainers, but Mt. Moon looms ominously in the distance. Violet's party stands at: eevee, horsea, pidgey, machop, magikarp, and abra.

Stream 3 sees Violet tackle Mt. Moon wherein it seems that dratinis and weedles have displaced the geodudes and zubats. A dratini joins the party and magikarp is left in the PC. Kanto's first cave is an awful slog with an encounter rate indicative of 90s jrpgs. Violet has her party annihilated and the run more-or-less ended by Mr. Raticate-Owning Rocket Grunt. But Violet has "plot armor" due to this being a debugging playtest. After some experimenting and save-stating, Violet overcomes the rocket foe and exits Mt. Moon with the Dome Fossil. A koffing is caught on route 4, and the stream ends in Cerulean city due to a technical issue. Violet's party stands at: eevee, horsea, pidgey, machop, dratini, and abra.

Stream 4 sees our stalwart heroine Violet take on the challenges of the Nugget Bridge...and promptly gets pummeled by the ambush of her ever-prideful rival, Jack. After finally working out a strategy that sends Jack running, Violet is perplexed at how some people enjoy randomized nuzlocke challenges. No matter. The next big obstacle is Misty, and Violet must prepare.

Violet battles her way across nugget bridge and makes her way directly to Bill's cottage. After helping him and obtaining the SS Anne Ticket, she proceeds to the burglarized house. Punishing the Rocket grunt there earns her the Dig TM. Surely it will be useful against Lt. Surge. But that is not her goal for now. After catching a pikachu, her goal lies just ahead at the Daycare Center. The new mechanics governing the Daycare allow her to quickly put levels on her dratini while going on to explore Vermilion City. Afterward getting her dratini back, she leaves her abra at the Daycare for the time being. A pikachu is caught along the way, and it is placed in the box for later.

Stream 6 has Violet rip through route 24 to defeat any trainers she may have missed before going to Cerulean Gym. Bur first she picks her abra up from the daycare, and it evolves into a kadabra. Magikarp is placed into the daycare. Along the way, she catches a jigglypuff. Also, in a situation that is in no way OSHA-compliant, she fishes up a voltorb in the gym. Violet defeats Misty using Kadabra as a special wall. Onward to Vermilion city.

Starting to figure out Youtube a little more. Instead of making individual posts, I've linked a playlist in the OP. All future updates will go in the Youtube playlist.
