Hey everyone! I just thought of a great idea for a nuzlocke challenge that will put a nice spin for all of the dbz fans out there. Hope you like it (There are quite a bit of details. You have been warned).

I am not going to post the original nuzlocke rules here. These are required to be followed within the challenge and optional rules may also be applied. They can be easily found so don't be lazy like me and go look for them if you don't know them!

Hacking is not allowed with the exception of mew, mewtwo, and arceus once the requirements are met (these are optional of course!).

Dbz Locke: This locke puts pokemon into certain races that each have different attributes and abilities. Please read all of them so you have a good understanding!

Sayians: All pokemon that have the ability to mega evolve (excluding legendary pokemon that can mega evolve)

Even if these pokemon can't mega evolve in the game you are playing, they still fit in the group as long as they have an official mega evolution.

Sayians are stubborn and prideful, so once they are sent out into battle they cannot switch out unless forced out by a move (whether it be you using volt switch, or someone using roar). Also, once a sayian is caught, and the next pokemon center appears. You must make the choice then and there whether to keep it on your team, or box it. If you put it on your team, you cannot switch it out for any other pokemon (except a majin buu) until it faints/dies. Sayians must evolve the first chance they can (no canceling out with b on the evolution).

If you get 6 fully evolved sayian pokemon on your team, you can do each of these once (optional):

    1. For 1 gym battle, and one gym battle only, you can hack in a lv100 mew (gens 1-3) or a lv100 arceus (gens 4-6) to replace your highest level pokemon for this battle (if 2 or more pokemon are the strongest with the same level, you can pick which one to replace). Once the battle is over, the original pokemon will replace the mew/arceus.

    2. For the elite 4 and champion of 1 league (if game has multiple leagues), you can replace one of your pokemon with either a mew, or an arceus with the same level as the pokemon you switch it out with.

Namekians: All pokemon with evolutions that are original special types, excluding sayians and earthlings
(so excluding pokemon with mega evolutions).

Special types: Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Ice, Psychic, Dragon, Dark, Fairy

Namekians are wise, intelligent and work together as a team. They can be switched out of your party freely with any other pokemon. If you have 1 or more namekians on your team, a namekian must lead every battle. If a namekian is on your team, all of your pokemon are allowed to hold items (pokemon that have pickup ability are the exception to this rule). Also, if a namekian is on your team, you are allowed to use potions/healing items in battle (excluding revives) for any of your pokemon. Despite all the good things with namekians, there comes bad news. A namekian can only evolve by fusing with another namekian. This means that one namekian can evolve, but the other one must be considered dead and can no longer be on your team. Also, the pokemon being "sacrificed" must be of the same evolution level or higher as the one that will be evolving.

*for example, a pikachu can help a bellsprout evolve, but a bellsprout cannot help a gloom evolve*

Freezers: All pokemon with evolutions that are original physical types, excluding sayians and earthlings
(excluding mega evo pokemon and the normal and ghost type)

Physical types: Fighting, Poison, Ground, Flying, Bug, Rock, Steel.

Freeza and his family are durable, strong, and ruthless. If you do not have a namekian on your team, but atleast 1 other type of pokemon, Freezer's cannot lead any battle. Freezer's can use held items and use potions on themselves in battle without the need of a namekian. Freezer's must evolve as soon as possible (no canceling out of an evo with b or using everstone). Once a freeza is in your party, it can only swap out of the party with other freezers. This rule is similar to the sayian's rule of staying in the party. If a Freezer *faints* it can be revived by sacrificing other pokemon.
    The requirements are as follows:

    1. The pokemon(s) sacrificed must atleast add up to the pokemon's level.
    2. Stage 1 evo pokemons are worth 2 sacrifice slots, and stage 2 evos are worth 3 sacrifice slots for that type
    3. Pokemon caught AFTER the freezer's death cannot be used

To revive one of the following must be met:

    1. Sacrifice 5 earthlings
    2. Sacrifice 2 namekians
    3. Sacrifice 2 sayians
    4. Sacrifice 2 earthlings, 1 namekian, and 1 sayian
    5. 1 majin buu (The majin buu must be atleast half as strong as the freeza that is revived ex: lv40 freeza lv20 majin buu = ok)

Majin Buu: All pokemon without any evolution lines, + snorlax/munchlax

Majin Buu's are funny, clumsy, and hard to kill. (Optional) Majin Buu's cannot die to wild pokemon (if they faint, they are not considered dead). They are allowed to hold berries without the need of a namekian, but not any other item. A Majin buu can replace ANY type of pokemon on the team. It can take the spot of a Sayian, Majin buu, namekian, freeza, earthling, etc. It is the only pokemon that is allowed to use rare candies that are found in the game.

Earthlings: All normal and ghost type pokemon that don't fit into any of the other categories mentioned above

Earthlings are normal, boring people. They can be replaced/swapped out by any type of pokemon. Other then that, they do not have any special abilities.

Kais: All legendary pokemon (excluding Mew, Mewtwo, and Arceus)

Kais are the gods of dragonball. They can fill any role that is needed. Once you catch a legendary, you can choose to make it a namekian, earthling, majin buu, sayian, or freezer. Once they are designated a role, they have the same abilities as that role and will be treated as a member of that group.

    Cell: Mewtwo

Cell is a combination of different groups to create the ultimate being. To get cell, you must have the following:

(all fully evolved) 1 namekian, 1 earthing, 1 freezer, and 2 sayians.

Your 6th slot will then be replaced (hacked in) a mewtwo that is equal to your lowest level pokemon of the 5 above. However, 1 majin buu or kai must be "sacrificed" to bring in mewtwo. This pokemon can be of any level.

Cell gets the good traits from each of the races to use at his disposal. He allows for his whole team to be able to heal while in battle. He can be revived like freezer for the same price. He can be swapped out with any pokemon of any type to replace him on the team as well.

The locke is finished once you beat the champion of the final league (if more then 1 league in the game).

Sign up sheet goes as follows:

    Name:
    Game:
    Your favorite race(Not including cell):

    Good Luck and have fun!

I'm not participating, but am just going to format the ruleset a bit for ease of reading. It's an interesting challenge.

    Questions:
Does Cell also allow use of held items?
The L100 Mew/Arceus rule is... a little overpowered, and seems to be overshooting for a Gym battle. Wouldn't it make more sense to allow hacking in of L100 Mew/Arceus for the Elite Four and hacking in of same-level Mew/Arceus for a Gym battle of choice?
I stated that baby Pokemon can evolve without the Namekian Fusion rule because Pikachu seemed to be treated as a basic Pokemon. If that wasn't the case, apologies.

    Spoiler:

    @Disturb Not the Harmony

Amazing formatting on the nuzlocke rules. Sadly after making this school/work started so I really didn't get to organize this in the end. If anyone wants to take this and run with it like you did by all means go for it and good luck!
