[Poetry] Deathbeds

You are the worst thing to have ever happened to me.
You took my heart in your gnarled hands and smashed it before my eye,
But before I could even think of what you were doing,
You already had a grasp on me.
So I went through time with both closed eyes
But my eyes were truly open.
I saw through your lies
I ate through your pain
I sobbed through lonely nights with you right next to me.
I walked through my life with my eyes wide shut.
You made me happy
You made me love
You made me see
What you want isn't in me
But all you need is I.
You don't know how I feel.
You don't care how I feel.
You don't even know that I miss you.
You hurt me, you broke me.
But I enjoy the pain.
You were the one thing that kept me from staying up all night.
You stopped my nightmares and gave me a light
You stopped my heart with a single blink
And started it again with a single touch.
You worked wonders on my heart
Just to rip it out and eat it in front of me.
So with my eyes wide shut I basked in what I thought was happiness.

But now you've gone on a trip 6 feet under,
I sit at the entrance waiting for you everyday with a bouquet of hope,
And a heart of sorrow.
Now I see that no matter what you did to me
I will always stand by you.
You may be in a bed 6 feet below,
But I'm laying on my deathbed
Hoping my eyes won't open until yours do.
