Welcome to Adopt a Johto Pokemon!
This will be run a little differently to the Dream World Adoption that previously happened in Fifth Generation.
To start, you will need to have a copy of Gold, Silver or Crystal handy. Make sure you have gotten to the point where you can buy Pokeballs. This will need to be a new game – don't beat Falkner yet! I highly recommend you play Crystal with this challenge as it will make it a lot easier for you (some challenges you NEED Crystal!)
Your initial starting Pokemon will be the starter you picked in the game you chose. Each week a new partner challenge will be posted as you journey through your game and the Johto region. As the weeks go on virtual PC-forum signature Pokemon will be up for adoption… but you can only get them if you complete the challenges in game! You can also win stuff for your Generation VII games – but only if you complete certain challenges first! 😊
To make it easier for everyone (for those that want to rush ahead) here are the weekly challenges:
You are not eligible for the rewards though until that actual week hits!
1. Catch a Caterpie and evolve it into Butterfree. (26 January – 2 February)
2. Post a travel journal of your journey so far. The only catch? You must start the journal before reaching Bugsy. (2 February – 9 February)
3. Adoption Week. (9 February – 16 February)
4. Win the bug catching contest. (16 February – 23 February)
5. Beat Morty with only one Pokemon. (23 February – 2 March)
6. Adoption Week. (2 March – 9 March)
7. Make two threads in Second Generation. (9 March – 16 March)
8. Hatch a shiny Pokemon from your Odd Egg. (23 March – 30 March)
9. Special Adoption Week. (30 March – 6 April)
10. Adoption Week. (6 April – 13 April)
11. Make 10 posts in Second Generation. (13 April – 20 April)
12. Help Lance! Beat Team Rocket for the chance to win another Shiny Gyarados for your game. (20 April – 27 April)
13. Get a Bellossom (27 April – 4 May)

Feel free to post in this thread that you are signing up, what your starter is and what game you are playing with. Remember you must use a new save file (or at least don't beat Falkner yet!)
