Confused by Pokebank

    Hi Everyone,

    I've read a bunch of conflicting information, and I'm hoping you all can help. If I download earlier games (Yellow, Crystal, etc...) to my 2DS XL is it possible to transfer Pokemon from those games to X and Y using the Pokebank?

    I've seen articles that say yes, and those that say no.

    • This is a very good question to ask before you make your purchase.

    Sadly the virtual console titles like Yellow and Crystal are not compatible with XY or any of the gen 6 titles. They can only be transferred to a gen 7 title such as Sun/Moon. You can use pokebank to transfer pokemon from the 5th generation games into XY via the poketransporter, but the virtual console titles only are compatible with gen 7.
