Where are you? What's your style? What's your kit like? How long have you been at it? Some other random question or something? I'm just getting back into drumming after taking a couple years off (long story). In some ways, it's kind of like riding a bike, but there's so much more that I have to work on.

If you have a bass, snare, and one cymbal (preferably a big crash or a small ride), you've got a kit. Less than that, you don't. Hi-hats help too. But you can play along with anything with those three pieces.

When I first started getting any good I collected more and more pieces. Then when I first started playing shows regularly, I realized that lugging all that muk around sucked. I cut my stage kit down to one big crash, one set of hi-hats, one tom, one bass, and the snare. And generally it never bothered me to have less.

I'm just an amateur but I found many daily drum lessons on YouTube and decided to give it a try. Recently I read useful info about trap sample packs and drum kits for beginners and started practicing at home. It's very entertaning and I hope one day I'll be able to make my own music.
