    Chapter 1: The showdown

    Year 2000

Hope. A word many had heard, a word, that no longer has a meaning. The surface of the planet had once a surplus of life, unity, and of course, hope. The sun blazed it's shining glory across the tops of the trees, and shot it's briliant colors on the sea. Now, the sun has been forgotten. It's colors, never show. The once pink and blue flowers of the world have all died. They have become an ash black color, only to show, the lack of life left. The seas are dry. The wind has stopped. The humans, have hidden. Why? Fear. The one emotion that can totally take over the body, and move it without the will of the human that owns it. Well then what in the world could they be afraid of? Pokemon. Behemoths of the pokemon. The legendary group to be exact. While the humans and other pokemon hid underground, the legendary pokemon battled atop the world, to see who was the most powerful. The thirty-four behemoths had been fighting for over three years now.

As the behemoths fought, the others hid. They no longer had homes on the surface world. The legendary beasts had destroyed everything the humans held dear, other than most of their lives. Many had risen to the challenge to try and stop the beasts, but all had failed. None of them, had the power, strength, or courage to do this. They all trembled at the sight, and fled back to the underground. They knew that soon, their days would be over, their lives, gone, and their world, destroyed.

Year 2000, fifteen weeks before new year.

The humans cried. They knew this was the day they would be gone. Most of the layers of the underground had been penetrated, and would be only a short time until the beasts reached them. They thought they no longer had any chance, any time to stall to escape. Only the very few percent had hope.

They knew they could save the world. They were the only ones who believed. They had the courage, and they most definitely had the strength. They returned to the surface world with their own pokemon, all seventeen of the humans. They each specialized in one type. Bug, normal, ghost, fire, water, all had been exploited, all had been trained specificly in that type. They had trained their own bodies, so that they, like their pokemon, they too, could handle battle. They approached the behemoths. They each challenged two, and began to fight. The fight, between dieties, and humans.

Year 2000, one day before new year.

The humans have been fighting for fifteen weeks. None had rested, none had failed. They were locked in a draw between the pokemon they opposed, and were getting nowhere. They were all getting weak. Their bodies were failing, their minds distraught, but their hope, increasing. Each of the humans had had enough. They took out some medallions, and began to chant. Their pokemons bodies' began to glow, and they commanded their pokemon to fire off their best attacks, and so they did. They humans raised the medallions in the air above their heads, and locked, the beasts into them.

    The humans, had won.
