The Legend of Lavender
One dark and spooky night, a mysterious girl named Lavender walked in the deep, dark Lavender Forest.
There, a Gastly dove at her face. Strangely, Lavender didn't move a muscle. She seemed-connected, in a way, to that ghost Pokemon. Gastly, surprised, snuck away.
She kept walking, and then a Haunter spooked her and tried to steal her soul. Her soul was so dark and mysterious, the Haunter was frightened and went away.
She kept walking, and made a campfire. There, she seemed strangely cold. A Gengar jumped out at her.
Lavender stayed absolutely still, as if frozen. She heard an eerie song. A very eerie song.
Suddenly, something yanked her hair.
Lavender screamed in agony. And no one ever saw her again.
They say that ever since that day, that ghost town has always been shaded an eerie purple hue. And they say that whenever someone goes camping in Lavender Forest by a campfire, they hear a little girl's scared voice saying:
"Help me...Help me..."
And an eerie song in the background...
But... Lavender's father eventually grew old and traveled far away to a land called Sinnoh, searching for his long-lost daughter. On his travels, he found a very stately mansion. Hoping that the inhabitants were friendly and kind, he entered. Inside, the mansion was not what it seemed like from the outside. It was old and decrepit, with Ghost Pokemon everywhere.
"My daughter loves Ghost Pokemon. If anywhere, she's sure to be here."
And search he did. He searched in every room, to no avail. He never left that house, because he had a gut feeling that his daughter was in the mansion somewhere. Some say that he is still searching for Lavender. And some say that Lavender's father died searching for her, but his iron will to find his daughter kept his spirit alive. And some say that the two are perpetually searching for each other, never to find each other lest something catastrophic happen. And some say that they've seen them both.
And some say that thus is the will of Giratina.
End Notes
This is a story that residents of Lavender Town tell around the campfire. Strangely, they hear an eerie song in the background when this story is told, also, but people say it's just a psychological thing. Or is it?
