    Legal anime streams list

Last updated on July 10, 2009.

I've cleared this with Digi-kun beforehand, so it should be all right. If you find any errors (I guarantee there will be some) or know of another site with LEGALLY LICENSED uploads, please contact me through PM and I'll make the relevant changes. If you find that one of my links is not a legally licensed distribution channel (which shouldn't happen), contact me and I will remove it as soon as I get your message. If someone else posts a link that isn't to a legally licensed distribution channel, contact that user (and if they don't respond, contact a moderator).

A lot of anime these days is getting uploaded legally to sites like YouTube or Hulu. Here's a list of links to places where you can legally watch stuff. This list is sorted by network. Show entries will be marked either as English subbed, English dubbed, or both available. If I notice a series hasn't been completely uploaded, I'll try to make a note of it. Feel free to contact me with more links to legally licensed content; I'll add it to the page and credit you with finding it.

    Anime Network (all dub)
First off, you can view all of their available stuff on their site, provided you're paying them money. I won't bother listing stuff you have to pay for to watch, but some of the stuff can be viewed on their site with a free registration. Any links to their site require this registration, so take note of that. Some of their paid stuff has a preview episode or three that you can watch; I won't include that because you can just look it up on their site. They also host some content on YouTube.

    Bandai Entertainment
It looks like they're only airing stuff on YouTube. I can't find anything on their site other than a link to the YouTube channel, so I'm assuming that's all they've put up.

Code Geass (sub and dub): YouTube
Gundam 00 (sub and dub): YouTube
    Kurokami (dub): YouTube

    FUNimation

This list will be quite long; FUNimation has put a lot of stuff online. Here's the link to the episodes hosted on their website. They also host some stuff on Hulu and YouTube. I'll include partial uploads from their site simply because of how long and disorganized their list of stuff is.

    MANGAentertainment
I didn't really look into their site too much. They have videos, but I'm not sure if they host any full episodes. I'm certainly not going to go through their various "channels" looking. Here's the YouTube channel.

    Astro Boy (dub): YouTube, Hulu
Virus - Buster Serge (dub): YouTube

    Media Blasters (all dub?)
Horrible site design. I'm not even going to try. Main page says that I have Flash version 0 installed in a big banner at the top, and then when I enter the main site (which opens in Flash anyway), there's random code splattered everywhere. Here's their YouTube channel and Hulu page.

    KITE: Liberator: Hulu
    Ramen Fighter Miki: YouTube

    Viz Media
As far as I could tell, there was nothing hosted on their site. I looked under "downloads" and "shows," which seemed to me like where they'd be if they were there... but they weren't. Here's their Hulu page.

    Bleach (sub): Hulu
    Death Note (sub): Hulu
Naruto (sub and a few dubbed): Hulu
    Naruto Shippuden (sub): Hulu

    Gong (all dub?)
I believe all their anime is available on their site. I say "I believe" because after five minutes, I was about 7% done loading their site. I don't know if they charge for any of it. Anyway, here's their YouTube channel and their Hulu page.

    CosmoWarrior Zero: Hulu
    Gun Frontier: Hulu
    Iki Tousen: YouTube, Hulu
    Saiyuki: YouTube
    Slayers: YouTube

    KADOKAWA
I just remembered this, so I added it. Looks like they're only airing Haruhi episodes for a little while before taking them back down. Here's their YouTube channel, but be forewarned that it is entirely in Japanese.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (sub, at this time only ep 9-12 are available): YouTube

That's all I could find. Mostly, I just searched around Hulu, YouTube, and the sites that licensed out the rights to them. There are probably some places that simply didn't license out to those sites, and thus I'm missing content from them completely. If you find any of these sites (and you're sure they're legal), just contact me and I'll add it in and credit you with the find.

Legalise out loud: I claim no rights to the works or names listed or linked to above; they are the property of their respective copyright or trademark holders. YES, I have been looking forward to Code Geass, Gunslinger Girls, and Gundam 00, though with Code Geass, will Code Geass R2 also be legal?

Maybe a while after it's done airing. If they do, I doubt it'll be anytime soon.

    Ah, OK.
I just thought that since Code Geass was legal, so would the second season.

    Awesome
