Due to request, I have decided to create an entire OOC thread for the RP, Chronicles of the Rod.

This thread is here mainly to discuss the on going adventure among other things, and an area I can dump all my RPG mechanics into to conserve space.

Anyways, here's a link to the main thread.

    Beastiary

    Vengancful Magikarp
    Spoiler:

    How Statuses Work:

Poisoned: The unfortunate Pokémon will slowly lose it's health. Cure it right away!
Dire Poison: This foul toxin worsens as time progresses. You better heal it before you're down!
Burned: Yowch! The best way to heal burns are with a certain berry...
Heavily Burned: You've got it big time! Get hit by a water-type move or use an item to put out the fire, where it will revert to a normal burn!
Paralyzed: Paralysis won't knock you out, but it can make your life a lot worse. Best heal it as soon as possible.
Fully Paralyzed/Petrified: You can't move at all! This status will eventually go away on it's own...
Frozen: A bit of ice never hurt anyone, did it? Non-ice or Steel type Pokémon are at risk of being frost burned while encased in ice (rock types still get frost-burned, but at a slower rate then others), but they never faint from it. The ice also makes a good barrier, and though completely immobilized, the target is safe from most blows...Save fire, which instantly melts the ice. Pokémon will thaw out themselves after a while. Fire types thaw out quicker then other types.
Paused:The Pokémon is either distracted or needs to recharge. Just give them some time...
Blinker/Cross-Eyed: This basically means that the Pokémon can't see properly, and will attack and move erratically. Pokémon with only one eye cannot be affected by the Cross-Eyed status, and Zubat cannot be effected by either status.
Confused: The Pokémon will attack and move wildly, hitting friend a foe alike.
Calamitous Damage: The Pokémon has been hit by a 1-hit KO attack. Pokémon that have been hit by a 1-hit KO won't faint right away, but if they're not healed soon, they will faint. Sheer Cold and any move with an attack power of over 120 instantly KO upon impact, though.
    Fainted/Passed out: The
Pokémon has been knocked unconscious from damage/hunger. Some Pokémon (mainly Ghost types) can carry on on their own in this state as long as they have a team to guide them, but most must be carried by a fellow team member until revived.
    Weakened: Weakened
Pokémon have all their stats cut in half, accept for health.
    Cringing:
Pokémon that cringe won't preform their next move. Weakened Pokémon cringe more often then all others.
Whiffer: Whiffers have a hard time aiming their moves, though unlike similar status problems, their attacks won't hit randomly.
    Terrified: The Pok
émon is terrified. Moves have a high chance of missing, and many times, the Pokémon cringes. Some Pokémon are harder to scare then others, and some never get scared.
Crying/Tearing: An occasional side effect of being hit by Smog or Smokescreen (though it also happens to certain Pok
émon who become terrified), this makes moves slightly less accurate, and sometimes the Pokémon will be affected with the paused status when trying to preform a move. Many Pokémon can't cry, mainly artificial/crystalline ones, Zubat, and Legendary Pokémon.
Muzzled: The Pokémon has been muzzled, and is unable to eat, drink, use sound based moves, or otherwise speak. Moutless Pokémon cannot be muzzled.
    Hungry: The Pok
émon is hungry. Eat an apple, a chestnut, or even your Indestructable Quest Item, but eat something before you pass out! (Some Pokémon, such as Porygon, Shedinja, Magnemite, and others don't have to eat, instead, their Attack, Special Attack, Defence and Special Defense will drop by 50% when they're at the starving sate, rather then pass out.)
    Eggified: The
Pokémon has been turned into an egg! While in egg state, the Pokémon can't attack or move, but it's defense and special defense are high. A Lum Berry or Reviver Seed will de-eggify the affected poke.

    Item List:
Stick: The stick has multiple uses. For one, it can be hurled for damage. Farfetch'd can also use it as a weapon, but can't use it as effectively as a true stick. It can also be set on ablaze to use as a torch, or start a fire, or it can be used as an eating utensil. The only real limit to the use of the Stick is within the user's mind.
Iron Thorn: The Iron Thorn can be hurled for damage. Aron and similar pokémon can actually eat the thorn to fill their belly slightly.
Mixed-OJ Lemonade: It's a combo of orange juice AND lemonade! Restores the user's PP by 10 for a single move.
"Milk-Mix": Lemonade and milk, eww...restores the PP of a move to its max, but you're best off going with a Max Elixir.
Elixir: Restores the PP of all Move by 10.
Max Elixir: Restores the PP off all moves by their maximum
    .
Apple: Eat to fill your belly a bit.
Big Apple: Eat to fill your belly more then a bit.
Huge Apple: Unless You're a Gyrados or something, this will fill your belly when eaten.
Bananas: Eat to fill your belly a bit if you're truly tired of apples.
Chestnut: Can be eaten to fill the belly a little.
Cookie: Okay, no one knows where these came from, but they sure are yummy! Slightly fills the belly.
Pear: Hey, just adding to the variety here. Eat it to slightly fill your belly.
Golden Apple: Come on, you know you'd rather show it off to your friends then ever eat it.
Grimy Food: Fills the belly slightly, but more often then not, poisons you among other things.
Oran Berry: Can be eaten to restore health.
Oren Berry: Danger! Do not eat, for this berry is very, very poisonous, even to poison types!
Sitrus Berry:Can be eaten to restore more health then a Potion or Oran Berry.
Bitter Powder: Restores health, but gives the user the cringing status.
Potion : Restores slightly more health then the Oran Berry, but only Pokémon with posable thumbs can use it.
Fluffy Tail : Decreases the target's defenses, and gives them the paused status. Has finate uses before it breaks.
Reviver Seed: Revives Pokémon automatically if they faint or pass out, but cannot revive pokémon suffering from a...Worse condition.
Revive: If a team member faints or passes out, another team member can use this strange crystal on them to revive them.
Heal seed: Heals the user of any status condition accept fainted and passed out.
Salveyo Weed: Cures paralysis. Primarily eaten by Poliwag.
Jar of Dirt: Can be used up to five times to pour dirt onto the target, lowering their accuracy. When it empties out, you can use the jar to store liquids and other things. You've got a jar of dirt!
Jar of Nothingness: This clear, empty glass is great for storing things. Clefairy won't fit in it, if that's what you're thinking.

    Orbs:

Invisify Orb: Makes the user invisible for a short period of time.
Gale Orb: Changes the area's weather to the Tailwind weather condition.

    Special Items:

Leftovers: Two-K has been trying to pass this apple core off as an item that can be used to restore health. Don't expect anyone to try it to see if it works, though.
Micro-Marker : Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff, and Igglybuff can use this odd item to draw on the target's face, dealing damage for some odd reason and sometimes confusing them. Loudred can also yell into the marker to make all it's sound-based attacks effect the entire floor.
Plastic Yo-yo: Slightly increases Hypno's special attack and accuracy.
Wooden Yo-yo: Mediocrity increases Hypno's special attack and accuracy.
Real Yo-yo: Increases Hypno's special attack and accuracy.
Bent Spoons: Increases Abra, Kadabra, and Alakazam's Special Attack.
Bent Wooden Spoons: How can you bend a wooden spoon!? Decreases Abra, Kadabra, and Alakazam's Special Attack.
IT Brooch: What does IT stand for? What does IT do? How does IT work? No body knows, but IT changes the holder's type when the holder is struck by an attack to the type that's resistant to it. Only usable by Porygon, Porygon2, and Porygon-Z.
Torchic Hair: Since when did Torchics have hair!? Boosts the defence of Torchic, Combusken, and Blaziken.
    Wood Claw: Keep dreaming, Sneasel!

Scarfs, Ribbons, Bands, and all that Stuff:

Blue Scarf: Increases...Erhm, it makes you stand out!
Mobile Scarf: Allows the user to walk through and on all types of terrain, but decreases their hunger meter faster when doing so.
Plain Scarf: A dull, normal scarf. It's not even worth much, either.

Plain Ribbon: Not every item has to be useful. At least it looks pretty.
Power Scarf: Increases the holder's attack. Where do these scarves come from anyways?
Special Scarf: This scarf is special. Increases Spe. Atk.
Spe. Def Scarf: Increases the user's Spe. Def. Short for "Special Defense Scarf".

Def. Scarf: Increases the holder's defense, but decreases their sense of fashion.
Def. Fast Scarf: This rare scarf increases the holder's speed and defense. Dyed blue, of course!

(More items will be added when I'm not as lazy)

    NPC List:

Ya know now that I think about it... What if Skype happens to get hungry? O.o What do artificial pokemon "eat" when they get "hungry"? IF they get hungry that is. Also I was thinking of skype's blue scarf having some special effect later on.

At first I thought "choice scarf" since that's also blue but that wouldn't work, and would limit skype by alot. Or maybe a silk scarf dyed blue. If I have to I'll give a backstory where he bought the scarf later on if a character asks him about it for any reason.

Actually, according to Bulbapedia, Porygon-Z doesn't need to eat (which is why I switched passing out with weakened status.)

But what Porygon-Z CAN eat is, just about anything considered edible, though usually just feeding off of raw energy will suffice.

And meh, you can change his scarf's ability, so long as it stays blew!

In that case, Is it alright if the scarf slightly increases his speed? Of course staying "blew" (Because blue is mah favorite color, I'm freaking megaman765)

Just a question since I'm still new to role playing. how exactly will battles go in this role play? Are you gonna decide the outcomes of each battle?

    Say for example...

    Rattata used tackle
*you decide if it misses or not*
Is it gonna be something like that or will we be able to choose what happens?

That is an interesting question. Battles will go in a way somewhat similar to most RP battles, along with a few Main Series and MD elements, with a pseudo-turn based system...It's just better if I put an example.

    ~~

Rattata was wandering through the halls of a dungeon, the cold earth chilling him. Just as he turned towards the left corner, a Zubat appeared!

    Zubat!
    Lv: 12
    Item: ???
    Move Set:
    Astonish
    Supersonic
    Leach Life

Quickening pace, Rattata charged with a Quick Attack! The blow struck Zubat square on the face!

    *! ! ! ! ! !*

    It was a critical hit!

Zumbat shook off this moderate blow, and struck Rattata with a Leach Life!

    *! ! !*

    +HP

Rattata staggered for a moment, but regained his strength, and lept at the batty foe with a Quick Attack!

    *! ! !*

Zubat, regaining focus, attempted to use Leach Life yet again on Rattata, but narrowly missed and bit a rock!

    *!*

Taking the opportunity, Rattata slammed into the foe with a maximum power Tackle!

    *
    Fainted*

The Zubat fell onto the ground, bruised, battered, and defeated. Tucked beneath its left wing, was an Oran Berry (x1)!

Rattata felt a surge of energy rush through him, he felt stronger then before!

    Rattata
    Lv: 16

Rattata's teeth felt hard now. Very hard. He had the urge to gnaw on something, no, to use his teeth to gnaw on his foes! The ability to inflict a simple Bite left his mind, but in turn, Rattata had gained the move
    Hyper Fang!

    Rattata
    Lv: 16
    Item: Oran Berry
    Move Set:
    Tackle
    Quick Attack
    Pursuit
    Hyper Fang
    Tail Whip

    ~~

That was an example of a generic dungeon battle + level up. If two Zubats were encountered, something like this would have been displayed:

    Zubat! ♂ (1)
    Lv: 12
    Item: ???
    Move Set:
    Astonish
    Supersonic
    Leach Life

    Zubat! ♂ (2)
    Lv: 17
    Item: ???
    Move Set:
    Astonish
    Supersonic
    Leach Life
    Wing Attack

    ~~

Once a foe is defeated, an article on the particular foe can be found on the Bestiary, marking the locations that type of enemy can be encountered, the level range, move sets, and item drops, along with some flavor text.

Moves used and whether or not they hit is dependent on the person deciding somewhat, but sometimes there are preset events, such as you can't expect to score a critical
    calamitous blow on a boss.

Also, most bosses and a few mini-bosses have a special introduction to them:

Gabite had spotted Team Practice! A sudden rush of wind blew against Pikachu's face as the area around them seemed to change into a battle field. Gabite was standing in the center, prepared to battle.

    Gabite
    Lurker of Labyrinth Cave

    ~~

More shall be explained in due time. But I can tell you, that there will be a wide range of foes, some maybe not even Pokémon(though still having equivalent moves and level scale.)

My pokemon has an item called the miracle gem, and you didn't write what it does anywhere, since I made it up?
If so, then here it is:
    Miracle Gem
A strange gem that heels 1/5 of your maximum HP in a pinch as well as boosting all your stats by 10%
You can change it if you want.
