    History
Five years ago today at the Indigo League tournament in the Kanto region two trainers changed the course of Kanto, and the rest of the world. There names were Beo and Zypher, and they were two of the three trainers that Oak had given starter pokemon to that year. The two at one point were best friends until this day they became complete opposites, Beo was full of darkness and hatred for the world. While Zypher on the other hand was a kind loving kid who would do anything for others. The two became rivals and it was only fitting that they would both make it to the finals to square off.

As the match began Beo started changing, there was something inside of him, something evil. The more competitive he got the bigger the darkness grew around him until ultimately the old Beo was gone consumed by the darkness. What happened next set in motion todays events. Zypher's Raichu took down Beo's gengar and with that Beo snapped, he was engulfed in shadows. Before vanishing he laughed hysterically saying "And so the game begins".

A year later men in dark robes would begin appearing around Kanto They called themselves The Dark Brotherhood. Darkness started shrouding the enter region. These men began taking control of cities and gyms ultimately destroying them. The old region of Kanto is gone, there is never light anymore only darkness. Its a region of dead plant life, mostly only dark and posion type pokemon remain as the rest have fled for other areas. Finally after much anticipation Zypher began creating a group to stop "The Dark Brotherhood" called the Clan of Hope.

    Thats where you come in.

    Plot:
After five years Clan Hope has finally begun to counterstrike the Dark Bortherhood who has become very strong. Zypher has contacted Professor Oak on this day, and tells him what is needed to be done.

It is now considered war, and with war comes different sides. Choices need to be made, and they may not always be the right one. As new trainers are sent out into the world to try and make it a better place, temptation and sin lie in wait, just waiting for the moment to come out and poison the minds of the young trainers.

This is where you come in you are a new trainer hoping to help in the Kanto's cause, you have been sent by Zypher to Oak's lab to chose your first pokemon. You are hoping to make a better life for yourself where you don't always have to worry about the constant battle between Zypher and Beo. With a new pokemon, you start off in the hopes of fighting battle's, gym leaders and, of course, capturing pokemon.

However, as it is a war, actions from others will get in your way of what is supposed to be the best journey of your life. With choices to be made, will you ignore the call of war and darkness, the call of hope and light, or the call of just being a normal trainer who simply wishes to beat the Pokemon League?

The decision will rest on your shoulders.

There will be 6 spots available, and you must choose one of the pokemon from below:

    Name: Gil Tess

    Age: 16

    Gender: Male

Appearance: Gil is of 5ft 6in height, just barely over the height of girls. However this doesn't bother him since he know that he has plenty of time to grow. Sixteen is such a young age, after all. Gil has messy black hair that can never seem to be straightened, often getting him into trouble at school for have a 'messy attire'. The clothing Gil wears is usually the same everyday. He wears blue jeans whose color has faded away from years of misuse, with the occasional rip or hole in them. Gil also wears a black shirt. It is plain with no symbol, words or anything. He doesn't see the point in wearing in exaggerated clothing with pcitures that just pop out at you.

Gil is a insonmaniac and has very noticable dark circles under his eyes that it looks like makeup. Getting barely three hours of sleep has made Gil paranoid and uncaring of most unimportant things, such as his appearence. Hence why he has such messy hair, though his parents did tell him his brother had the same hair and stature, but his brother disappeared a year ago, and even before then, Gil live with his father while his brother lived with their mother.

Personality: As said, because of Gil's insomnia, he became paranoid and a bit skittish, as well as controlling of what he believe's to be his. Because of the darkness spreading, paranoia grew into a bit more, but Gil himself may not even be aware of it, but if others meet him, they can just sense something is wrong with him. Gil is just one of those people that give off bad vibes.

When Gil is startled, he'll get into a type of crouching position, almost as if he were a startled animal trying to take things in at a different perspective. When attacked when in that crouching position, he'll even scuttle back on all fours, but again because of the darkness and dangers, being a little animalistic isn't so hard to believe.

Background: Because Gil was separated from his brother and mother, he only grew up with an uncaring father. With war and darkness all around, the only thing Gil's father cared about was survival, but that was steadily dealt into Gil's personality. To the point of beast brutality, Gil will do anything. He's never killed, but he's seen his father killed plenty of crazy wild pokemon and even a few thieves.

Exactly one week ago, Gil's father died. He had no bond or feelings towards the man, other than he felt he was a bit of a protector, but since he has no one, he's taking this chance to get a pokemon and escape his hell of a home. He has no interest in the war even though he know's he has to 'sign up with the good guys', Gil will do what he can to escape everything, but because Gil's mind is very adaptive, even he doesn't know what might happen to him if forced into a new or different situation.

Additional Information: Exactly one year ago, Gil recieved a call from his mother that his brother had run away, whom was exactly how old Gil is now. Gil never cared, after all, all he knew was that his brother's name was Shaun Tess...

    Name: Grecko Rage

    Age: 16

    Gender: Male

Appearance: Grecko is short for his age standing at only 5' 5, but he is in very good shape. Wears a black tee shirt and old blue jeans. Always wears an old green jacket that used to belong to his father before his disapearance. His hair is spikey with a golden tip in the front.

Personality: Grecko is a good hearted person who tries to do the best he can all the time. He will never pass up an opportunity to help someone, although sometimes he just gets in the way. Even though he his good hearted, Grecko will do anything to get what he wants. He has a strong will and can not be easily dismayed. However, if anything reminds him of his father he will lose concentration.

Background: When Grecko was born his family moved from the Hoenn region to the Johto region. At the age of five, his father had gained enough recognition as a trainer, and so he opened up his own training gym for trainers to stop by and get some extra training. The family never lived in the dark Kanto Region but they new all to well what could happen. So when Grecko turned seven his father began to train him in his gym so that he could protect himself someday.
At the age of nine his mother passed away and caused Grecko to shut his father and everyone else that he knew out. This was until his father brought him a pokemon to call his own. The pokemon was known as a Charmander, and it helped to tear down the wall around his heart that the death of his mother had built. The two became great friends and Grecko's father once again began to train his son.
When he was fifteen Grecko and his father went on an training hike but somethings never work out the way you want them to. Somewhere near the pokemon league in Johto, Grecko and his father were jumped by a bunch of people in white robes. Grecko's father asked him for his Charmander and than told him to run and never look back.
Grecko ran for a few miles until finaly collapsing from freight and exhaustion. After resting up he walked back but his father was nowhere in sight...he has not seen him since.
This is the reason Grecko is going to Kanto. He believes that his father may be somewhere in Kanto, and also feels he can be of some help.

    Name: Kabir Bihar
    Age: 17
    Gender: Male

    Appearance:
Heritage has done some kind things to this teenager. He stands at a moderately tall height of 6'4", and is rather proud of that fact. The only thing that might be a small problem is his size. He doesn't look beefy or scary or anything, so that results in him not looking very intimidating. Kabir is a rather lean person, but because of his personality he keeps himself fit and therefore has a nice bit of muscle on his frame. It still doesn't help a lot though. Along with his basic body structure, Kabir inherited medium tan skin from his parents as well. He has a light bit of a goatee, but it isn't really anything big or anything. As for his hair, Kabir has black hair that he keeps a few inches below his ears. He often keeps it nicely combed and groomed, just because he likes a clean appearance.

Seeing as he grew up in a fairly nice background, Kabir tends to wear nicer clothes. It goes with his clean-cut appearance, in all truth. Generally he wears dark colors such as blacks or navy blues, but sometimes a white or gray colored shirt will be thrown in the mix. Often he wears a hooded sweatshirt that is black, and the hood is a deep red. The shirt underneath ranges from the aforementioned colors. For his pants, Kabir sticks with a pair of generally dark blue jeans or faded dark grey ones. They often end up dragging on the ground, thus resulting in tears and holes in the bottoms of them. The shoes on his feet are a pair of old black Converse high tops that he's had for a few months now, thus resulting in a few holes in the canvas. The only accessory he dons is a gold necklace with the Hindi symbol of कर्म, or karma on it. His brother has an identical one, though Kabir's unsure if he wears it.

    Personality:
Kabir has a very lonely personality, and therefore doesn't get close to people in many cases. He is close to his siblings, but other than that Kabir stays out of being friends with anyone. Why? He feels that people, no matter who they are, will end up hurting you. They could be your best friend, your family, or your friends. They will all end up hurting you, and Kabir's philosophy is that if he limits the people in his life, he limits the pain. This is his logic, and Kabir is the type of person to always trust in his logic. It may be flawed, but he is stubborn enough to where he refuses to believe what other people say.

Despite how it may come across, Kabir is not the type of person to shove ideas down anyone's throat or judge quickly. He has a very open mind, and as long as you respect him he will respect you. As far as his temperament goes, Kabir is generally very calm and hardly gets mad at anything. Few people have ever seen him mad, and that includes the people in his family. Kabir is also the type of person who is more for peace and talking things out, but he does have his little problems. He hates his adopted brother, Sabir, with a passion. He feels that Sabir took his family away from him and made him completely isolated, and for that Kabir could never forgive him.

    Background:
Kabir was raised by both his parents in a small ranch in Kanto. He grew up with two brothers and two sisters. One of his brothers was adopted into the family, but that wasn't quite what bugged Kabir. What bugged him was that his name was so close to his. The boy's name was Sabir, and he was also approximately the same age as Kabir. Now, while Kabir didn't mind taking on the brotherly role and taking care of his siblings, he pretty much detested this brother. They didn't get along, and their personalities clashed multiple times. This was probably because they were so alike, but they refused to admit it. Most of the time they also were thought of as very similiar, thus resulting in their parents buying them the same type of clothes and identical things. The necklace was one such example. Kabir got the karma one, and his brother got one for प्यार, or love.

Finally the bad blood spilled over, and Kabir began to feel exiled from his own family. He was thrust into a world of bitterness and loneliness, and pretends that he doesn't mind. He made himself stronger by pursuing more of an athletic persona than he used to be, and busied himself with continuing on his strength. He also played online chess games frequently, making sure his mind stayed sharp as well as his body. He found out about the brewing war, and sort of grew excited. A part of him knew that was sick, but he couldn't help it. Kabir saw this as an opening to leave the resentment he felt growing for his family and his brother, and build something of a new life. Sadly for him, Kabir has a bad feeling that the buildings of his new life won't result in a lot of good.

Additional Information: Kabir hates his brother, simple as that. The loneliness he feels Kabir blames Sabir partly for, thus resulting in the resentment and hate growing stronger than ever. If posed the question then, yes, Kabir would kill his "brother".

    Name: Lynette Mour (More)

    Age: 19

    Gender: Female

    Appearance:

Lynette's pitch-black hair dangles and forms around her head and shoulders to a length somewhere between shoulder and elbow length. It has a single red streak that runs down the front of it, that she had dyed that way. It is smooth, and straight, as some go down her back or down her front on either side of her head. Lynette keeps it clean and tidy, but will not freak if it is not perfect. Her hair is the last thing she has on her mind at the point in history. She is more focused on other things than taking an hour to keep her hair.

All coordinators envy Lynette's slender frame. She has kept a normal weight her entire life, and plans to keep it that way. Her diet consists of mainly berries that would be used as poffin ingredients, unless she is injured, where she will eat sitrus or oran berries as her Homeopathic medicine. She is an excellent cook with the berries, adding any ingredients that make them less bland. These ingredients keep her from becoming too skinny, but the berries keep her healthy. For a woman, her facial features are well defined. One thing that stands out in her face is that she has light-red eyes, almost a pink-like shade, but they are as red as the streak in her hair.

Lynette wears black clothes that match her hair almost. and will consist of a t-shirt that looks like a regular high-schooler's: it stays to her skin, but with some slack. Over that, she has a vest, which is half way zipped up. Her T-shirt reveals a red logo of a famous clothing company. Lynette wears jeans on her legs, which were designed to stay close to her legs with areas that are worn. Her shoes are usually tennis shoes while traveling, unless she needs otherwise for other terrains.

    Personality:

Lynette is a close-minded person that keeps her thoughts to herself. She rarely says multiple words in any one sentence, and she says what is needed to get her point across. This is often her greatest trait, or downfall. It is useful, as she listens and takes commands well. Her downfall is a lack in communication with her partners, often leading to a loss.

She looks evil, but really has much good in her. She sees no reason in taking over the world, as it leaves too many holes, and she also believes if anyone should rule, it should be a competent person. Her views are extremist and she waits for the revenge against the brotherhood more than anything. Her hardworking attitude puts her in a position to train tough pokémon.

    Background:

Lynette's hatred toward the brotherhood started exactly six years ago. They were living a normal life when the Dark Brotherhood showed up and killed her mother. Her father was left alone to fend them off, but when he saw Lynette, his eyes were as black as his soul when he attacked Lynette mindlessly. She knew this was a trick of a psychic pokémon from the start, but she ran… ran to the docks of Olivine City. From there, she took a boat to Johto, where she was sent to Prof. Oak for her starter. Ever since, she had despised the Brotherhood, and has sworn an oath to avenge her mother and free her father.

Lynette usually likes to work alone, but as she is about to find out, she will not be able to. She wants to make friends right away, people she can trust with all of her heart.

Preferred Starter: Well, you know it's between Trapinch or Teddiursa.

    New Help Arrives
    Post 1
Professor Oak sits at a desk, sipping his coffee; he looks around to see his lab assistants bringing out a group of six pokeballs containing six different types of Pokemon. He sat back and thought about what has become of his home region of Kanto, and was hoping today would be the day that all things would change. "BRRRING---BRRING" a phone rang loudly as it echoed in the cave laboratory. Oak picked up the phone "Hello" the professor said. "It's time the group of trainers have just arrived and will be brought down to your lab in five minutes, this is crucial Professor everything must go according to plan today we cannot fail!" the voice said as professor Oak hung up the phone and walked over to the desk where the six pokemon have been put. Each Pokemon had a name tag on of whom would become there trainer.

An hour later the trainers were all sitting impatiently as they waited for Oak to come out. They were all of different ages and each had a somewhat determined look on there face. Then Oak walked out to them holding the tray of pokeballs on them. He walked around and handed them each there Pokemon, five pokeballs, and a pokedex. He then walked over to a map of Kanto and started to talk.

"Today is a very important day for you young trainers, although I wish this day would have come under different circumstances. Your here today to begin your quest to save Kanto from the control of the Dark Brotherhood, but you must listen to this warning, once the leader of the group knows of your exsistence, he will try to presuade you to join his cause. If you deny him then he will have you and your pokemon executed. At your current state you would stand no match against him, he is ruthless and his pokemon are all corrupt and full of evil, he will most likely come after you immediatly while you are weak so you do not get to strong. " Oak said then taking a deep breath he then pointed to the map.

"This is what Kanto currently looks like covered in Darkness, currently you are here, in an underground lab under Pallet town where my old lab used to stand. Your first mission is to make it to Viridian city and go to the old Viridian Gym there you will find a hidden door that will lead to the Clan of Hopes hideout, show the man at the door your pokedex he will let you in, after this wait for a man named Zypher to come to you. That is all so take care young trainers, and let light lead you all" He said again sitting down at his desk taking a big sip of his coffee, he was nervous, but he knew it was out of his hands now.

Suddenly the ground begins to shake as Oak's coffee spills over his white lab coat, the grey haired man stands up with abrupt force and stares at each of you intently before whispering one word.

    "Run"

But it was to late as all of you head towards the exit six trainers cloaked in black appear out of shadows, and each of them call out a pokemon looks like you're in for more then you bargained for, you're going to have to battle them!

    Cloaked men's pokemon:
The Path to Light and Darkness: Rated PG 17

    Gastly lvl 7
    Hypnosis, Lick, and Spite

After you defeat the trainers pokemon they just begin to laugh as they all reach for another pokeball, calling out a fully evolved Gengar. Suddenly you start to wonder if you should have just left Kanto.

As you get your starter pokemon ready to battle, with all odds against you a strange clapping comes from behind you. Suddenly you turn around to see a man dressed in a black cloak sitting on Oaks desk, Oak himself was being held to the ground by shadows. You start to question who this cloaked man was. The thing that frightens you most is that you start getting chills just looking at him… He then begins to speak.

"That's enough, all of you can leave us alone now" he says as he waves his hand and you turn around to see the cloaked trainers behind you vanish once again into shadows.

"Now where were we, oh yes I'd like to introduce myself" He says as he removes his hood revealing pure white eyes and long spiky black hair. He then pulls a small blood stained dagger from behind his cloak and knelt down besides Oak. You all feel a sense of urgency to attack the man but are frozen in fear; something about those eyes just makes you tense up.

"My name is Beo, it's very nice to meet you all, now Oak is there any last words you'd like to say to Kanto's last breath of life?" Beo asked Oak as he removed the shadows covering his mouth.

"YOU SCUM! ZYPHER WILL DESTROY YOU AND THESE NEW TRAINERS WILL HELP!" Oak screamed in agony as Beo waved his hand again over his mouth as shadows covered it again. He then took the dagger and swung it back in the air.

"YOU FOOL I HAVE ALREADY WON, AND I WILL USE THIS SAME DAGGER TO KILL ZYPHER HAHAHA" Beo said hysterically as he thrust the dagger into Oaks chest killing him instantly. He then pulls the dagger out slowly and licks the blood from it. "Now listen don't be frightened I just wanted to come and introduce myself to you all, it's not yet your time to die. No I want you to suffer first and be willing to give into the darkness, that's when will meet again" And with that he snapped his fingers and was gone.

At that moment you start to realize your just all part of a sick and twisted game.

What to do in this Post:

1: Describe your journey to Oak's lab
2: Describe how you feel about the darkness over Kanto, and how its affected your life
3: Describe your meeting with Oak
    4: Battle the cloaked trainer
5: Describe how you feel when you first see Beo.
6: Describe what your feeling as Oak is killed, and after.

Kabir wasn't sleeping, once again. It wasn't a surprise to him. He was too busy being pissed off. Of course, the day he decides to start his journey he finds out his "brother" is starting one of his own as well, only going to a different region because Kanto isn't safe enough. And to top it off, he got to get a Charmander! Charmander was one of Kabir's favorite Pokemon. Kabir scowled up at the ceiling, glaring holes into the dark colors of it. He wished that he could meet up with Kabir again someday and battle him. Stupid good for nothing a**h***, Kabir thought in bitter annoyance.

A quick glance at his clock told him that it was early the morning, instead of late in the night like he had first thought. Kabir sighed and pushed up from the warmth of his bed. There was no point in sleeping now. He wanted to be one of the first to the lab, after all. With a harsh yawn, Kabir got out of bed and sluggishly walked to the bathroom he shared with Sabir. He locked the door to both bedrooms, and then got in the shower. Kabir vaguely hoped it would help wake him up, because otherwise he didn't think he would have much luck of doing anything productive today.

In all truth, it took him about an hour before he was dressed and ready to go. He could hear Sabir messing around on the computer in his room, and a smirk appeared on Kabir's face. He rather enjoyed it when he caused annoyance to his brother. Without bothering to tell Sabir he was finished, Kabir unlocked both doors and then walked into his own room. He picked up the bag that he had packed the night before, and then double checked everything. Kabir picked up his cell phone from the nightstand beside his bed, and then slipped it into the pocket of his jeans. Then he tugged on his necklace, picked up his bag, and looked about the room once more.

    "Leaving so early?"

Kabir rolled his eyes and then turned around. Sabir was leaning in the doorway, arms crossed. There was a small smirk on his face. "Yeah, actually I am. So why don't you go back to your shower and jack off like you do every morning." Ah, good old sibling banter.

Sabir's smirk turned into a sneer. "Oh very funny," he snapped. "Too bad for me and my apparent jacking off that you used all of the hot water. Way to go."

"No problem. Why don't you go talk to your little girlfriend?"

"Are you enjoying yourself? And she's probably asleep. She sleeps until noon anyway."

    "Hm."

They stared at each other for a moment. Sabir finally pushed away from the wall and walked back into his own room, shutting the door to their bathroom as he did so. Kabir sighed and stared up at the ceiling for a moment. Then he shook his head, and walked out of his room.

Kabir knew that his parents would both still be in bed, and he saw no need to bother them with his leaving. He scribbled down a note saying goodbye in his smallish handwriting, and then grabbed a bag of food he had packed for himself out of the refrigerator. Just as he was about to head out the front door, he saw something on the couch. Kabir sighed, wondering what the hell it was this time, and then walked over to it. It was a blanket, and said blanket was moving. He blinked slowly, and then pulled it back.

The large black Pokemon looked back up at him blearily. Kabir chuckled softly. "Mightyena, what are you doing? Shouldn't you be upstairs with my sister?"

The dog snorted and simply shoved its head underneath a pillow located next to it. Kabir rolled his eyes and dropped the blanket, and then headed to the door once more. This time there was nothing to stop him. He opened the door and then walked out, shutting it behind him as softly as he could. He walked away from his house and in the direction of the Pokemon lab, entertaining himself with ideas of the Pokemon he might get. He knew it would be better than Sabir's. That would be an almost definite must.

It didn't take him very long to get there. This was mostly because he wasn't really paying attention and was more musing, but oh well. Kabir glanced at the door to the lab, and then knocked. A lab aid (or so he assumed) opened the door and allowed him to come in, though Kabir found something a bit off about the aid. The aid told him to make himself comfortable, and Kabir did so. He plopped down in a chair and shut his eyes, deciding that rest would be a good idea before anything else.

He didn't know how much longer it was later, but finally he was woken up by the arrival of more people. Kabir grumbled and blinked slowly. Oak still wasn't there. Kabir sighed and began to think about all of the challenges he was going to face. He knew that he'd do his best in them all, and couldn't wait to get started. Soon enough, Oak showed himself to them. He was holding a tray of Pokeballs, and Kabir felt his stomach give a little lurch at the sight of them. Oak went around handing people their Pokemon. Kabir couldn't wait to find out what it was, but he knew that he would have to wait until a bit later. The Professor handed him a few items along with the Pokeball, and Kabir was able to figure out what they were; a Pokedex and five extra Pokeballs.

"Today is a very important day for you young trainers, although I wish this day would have come under different circumstances. You're here today to begin your quest to save Kanto from the control of the Dark Brotherhood, but you must listen to this warning, once the leader of the group knows of your existence, he will try to persuade you to join his cause. If you dny him then he will have you and your Pokemon executed. At your current state, you would stand no match against him, he is ruthless and his Pokemon are all corrupt and full of evil, he will most likely come after you immediately while you are weak so you do not get too strong." Oak took a deep breath after all of that talking. He then pointed to the map of Kanto he was currently next to.

"This is what Kanto currently looks like covered in Darkness, currently you are here, in an underground lab under Pallet Town where my old lab used to stand. Your first mission is to make it to Viridian City and go to the old Viridian Gym, there you will find a hidden door that will lead to the Clan of Hope's hideout, show the man at the door your Pokedex and he will let you in, after this wait for a man named Zypher to come to you. That is all so take care young trainers, and let light lead you all." He took a nice gulp of coffee after that. Kabir could tell he was nervous, and he didn't like that one bit. Why should he be so nervous?

Of course, just as he thought that, the ground began to shake. Oak's coffee spilled over his coat, and suddenly the man stood up with quite a bit of force. There was an intent look on his face as he said, "Run."

Kabir didn't like the prospect of running. After all, he was a rather competitive type who had a lot of faith in his abilities. Nonetheless, he followed the other trainers towards the exit. Apparently it was too late, because moments later six cloaked people appeared out of the shadows. They each called out a Pokemon, and it seemed like they wanted a fight. Kabir smirked. He was willing to bet that this was already much more eventful than Sabir's safe journey across Johto. The stupid idiot would probably wind up with Team Rocket anyway. Kabir shook his head, and then brought out his Pokemon.

The first thing he thought when he saw the Pokemon was something akin to disbelief. It was a type that he had often seen Sabir gush over; an Abra. Kabir rolled his eyes. Of course he got stuck with the one that Sabir liked. Just his luck. The little Pokemon looked up at his trainer with basically closed eyes. Then it yawned and Kabir vaguely wondered if it had gone to sleep. The cloaked trainer chortled rather evilly. Kabir glared at him and his perfectly fine Gastly, then looked at his Pokemon and urged it awake. The Abra looked at Gastly with a rather bored expression on its face.

Kabir grabbed his Pokedex to check some stuff, but before he could manage the cloaked dude ordered a lick attack. Now, Kabir wasn't a huge expert on Pokemon, but he wasn't stupid either. He knew that would do some major damage to Abra, especially because his Pokemon was so much weaker than the Gastly already. He cursed, and then called for a teleport. Abra seemed to understand that, because the Pokemon quickly disappeared and reappeared behind Gastly before the attack could work. Kabir smirked at t he guy in the cloak, but was a bit annoyed to find that the guy didn't seem to be worried at all.

"Use hypnosis." Such a simple command, yet it made Kabir freeze in place.

    "Teleport."

Abra disappeared, and Gastly's attack bounced to a wall. Kabir was relieved, and became a bit happy at what happened next. The attack bounced off the wall and hit Gastly instead, though how Sabir wasn't sure. Gastly drifted down to the ground, fitfully asleep. Sabir looked at Abra, unsure of what to do. It wasn't really like he could do much of anything. Kabir looked around the room, and finally decided that he knew what to do. He grabbed a water bottle from his backpack and tossed it to Abra, who caught it and looked at it curiously.

"Do something psychic to it!" Kabir urged, hoping that Abra could at least do something other than teleport.

The little Pokemon looked at him with confusion, but then uncapped the bottle and stared at the water. Kabir bit his lip, hoping that whatever the hell he was trying to get Abra to do worked. The water began to swirl in the bottle, until it suddenly shot out like a stream and slammed into Gastly, knocking it back into a wall. Because of the sleeping state, Gastly was in a more solid form and didn't go through the wall, but hit it and fell down to the ground. Abra dropped the bottle and then yawned, falling asleep on the spot. Kabir blanched. This was so not a good time for his Pokemon to take a nap.

"Tch...beginner's luck," the hooded man grumbled. "Gastly, awake and destroy Abra with lick!"

Unluckily for Kabir, Gastly woke up. The ball of gas blinked slowly, looking a bit injured and unsure of what to do, and then started towards Abra. Kabir cursed under his breath, knowing that Abra wouldn't be able to do something that "powerful" again. Abra blinked blearily, waking up once more. Before Kabir could say a word, Abra teleported away and onto the cloaked man's head. The man shouted and Gastly whipped around, then took off for its trainer and Abra. Kabir watched silently as Abra suddenly teleported away again. Gastly ran smack dab into its trainer, who cursed it out and glared at it.

"You stupid fool of a Pokemon," he growled. He recalled Gastly, though Kabir wasn't sure why. Instead, the man looked at Kabir with a rather crazy countenance. He laughed evilly, and brought out a much larger purple thing. It was a Gengar. Kabir resisted the urge to scream a profanity.

Maybe I should've went with Sabir, he thought dryly, as he told Abra to get ready for battle. Abra looked at him dryly, but nodded anyway. Just as the hooded guy was apparently about to attack, there was a clapping sound from behind them all. Kabir whipped around, and saw a new man in a black cloak. This one was sitting at Oak's desk. Kabir looked around for Oak, and finally found him held to the ground by shadows. Kabir's eyes narrowed as he wondered who the man was, but the others beat him to voicing his questions. Kabir felt odd looking at this man. The hairs on the back of his neck tingled.

"That's enough, all of you can leave us alone now," the man said. He waved his hand, and then the cloaked trainers vanished into the shadows. Kabir stole a quick glance over his shoulder, and then looked back at the man. Abra scooted closer to Kabir.

"Now where were we...oh yes, I'd like to introduce myself," he said. The man took off his hood, revealing odd features. His eyes were pure white and his hair was long and spiky and black. Then he pulled out a small dagger from behind his cloak and knelt down beside Oak. There was dry blood already on the dagger. Kabir felt his muscles twitch as he told himself to move, but he couldn't.

"My name is Beo, it's very nice to meet you all, now Oak, are there any last words you'd like to say to Kanto's last breath of life?" Beo asked. The shadows disappeared from Oak's mouth.

"YOU SCUM!" Oak cried. "ZYPHER WILL DESTROY YOU AND THESE NEW TRAINERS WILL HELP!" Oak screamed as the shadows covered his mouth again. Beo took the dagger and swung it back in the air. Kabir glared at the man.

"YOU FOOL! I HAVE ALREADY WON, AND I WILL USE THIS SAME DAGGER TO KILL ZYPHER!" Beo shouted, ending that proclamation with a rather hysterical laugh. He shoved the dagger into Oak's chest, obviously killing him right away. Kabir looked on with cold eyes as Beo licked the blood on the dagger. Abra clung to Kabir's pant leg. "Now listen, don't be frightened I just wanted to come and introduce myself to you all, it's not yet your time to die. No, I want you to suffer first and be willing to give into the darkness, that's when we'll meet again." Those words were the last he said, for then he snapped his fingers and was suddenly gone.

Kabir stared. Maybe he should've gone to Johto, and maybe this wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Because, to him, from where he was standing it looked like he was being used as a pawn. He hated that.

Sneaking out definitely wasn't a rare thing for Cain. It happened all the time, especially in her early and rebellious teens, and she had perfected the art of climbing out the window and lowering herself down until it was okay to let herself fall onto the ground. It wasn't rocket science. Never had she actually ran away from home however, not in the sense she was planning. But she was 18 now, legally on her own.

She'd argued her point for days on end, ever since she had turned eighteen just 4 days ago. She wanted to help cleanse Kanto of that which was rotting it while her parents just wanted to stay and keep their heads low and wait until it was all over. They didn't object when Cain's brother Judas left the nest about 2 years previously, but God forbid their youngest daughter to become independent!

Of course all the arguments were shot down, even though she was legally her own person. And as her own person she had decided to take actions on her own, leaving a note to explain where she was. She'd call them as soon as she could, but for now they were still asleep. So out of the window it was, bag slung over her shoulder as the sun was already coming up.

She decided to visit the café first, getting a coffee and some breakfast eggs. These days the mood everywhere was pretty grim, and it wasn't a happy waitress that greeted her but they left her alone so that was alright. She drank her coffee black, needing the caffeine to get through the day, and she took her time on the eggs. It was most likely way too early to get to the lab so she was stalling, knowing her parents wouldn't get up until at least close to noon.

After lingering for an hour or two in the café, reading a book and slowly sipping her coffee, Cain finally made her way to the lab. She pulled her hood over her head protectively as she slowly strolled in the direction of her destination, making no haste. When she did arrive she impatiently got shoved into a room that so far had one other occupant in it, a tall dark haired boy. She minded her own business, leaning against the wall with her hands in her pockets, nodding off a bit…

Cain jolted awake as Professor Oak entered the room with a tray of Pokéball. She brushed a hand through her unruly blonde curls, that she knew were still wild from the morning jaunt, and attempted to wake herself up. Not much was said as the grey-haired man passed each of them a Pokéball and Cain silently accepted hers.

"Today is a very important day for you young trainers, although I wish this day would have come under different circumstances. Your here today to begin your quest to save Kanto from the control of the Dark Brotherhood, but you must listen to this warning, once the leader of the group knows of your existence, he will try to persuade you to join his cause. If you deny him then he will have you and your Pokémon executed. At your current state you would stand no match against him, he is ruthless and his Pokémon are all corrupt and full of evil, he will most likely come after you immediately while you are weak so you do not get to strong. "

Cain listened to his speech, contemplating the meaning. She didn't see herself as being as gullible as to join the Brotherhood that was killing the island, but she did understand the gravity of things. Oak then turned toward a map on the wall.

That is all so take care young trainers, and let light lead you all" Oak was nervous, it was definitely visible, but also understandable. The Brotherhood wouldn't exactly be pleased with what he was doing, there was a lot at stake.

Just then the ground began to shake and Oak jumped up spilling coffee in the process. For a second he just looks at them with a wide-eyed look. The next moment he tells them to run. Cain blinked, utterly confused, too confused to even think of running. Just as she regained her senses and turned around there was a black cloaked man, smirk on his face and Gastly floating in right beside it. "You're not going anywhere little dove."

Just then the panic that was over Cain washed away by adrenaline, giving her time to think. She took out her newly obtained Pokémon and released it. Right before her was a floating little Misdrevous, she looked so tiny in comparison to the big Gastly.

The guy simply laughed. "Piece of cake, Gastly start with lick!" The ghost hovered dangerously close to Misdreavous, tongue hanging out of its mouth as it tauntingly floated around the startled ghost. Cain quickly took out her Pokédex to look up the little ghost's moves.

"Misdreavous, counter with Psywave!" Cain ordered just as Gastly licked Misdreavous, going around her in a circle as the smaller ghost cringed in disgust. She shuddered but thank goodness she wasn't actually paralyzed. Then the ghost did her own thing, eyes glowing purple as blue waves of different size formed and shot at Gastly.

The bigger ghost cried out in pain as the psychic attack hit it, but its trainer was unmoved. "So the kitty has bite, we'll show her how to play with the big boys. Gastly use Spite and then Hypnosis!" In response to its trainer Gastly's eyes glowed red as a thin red line crossed the air into Misdreavous' eyes. Misdreavous cried out in pain but soon regained herself.

"Misdreavous, quick use another psywave!" Cain commanded quickly, knowing very well what Hypnosis did. Before Gastly could move Misdreavous fired another blast of Psywave, this time the waves were a bit smaller however, and they didn't do as much damage. Moreover, while Misdreavous was using the move red sparks were erupting all around her and she cringed in pain. The effects of a spite.

"Gastly, now!" The trainer commanded and Gastly listened. He eyes glowed again, this time different colours, and Misdreavous couldn't help but watch. Slowly she fell asleep in the air, though remaining floating. "Now lick!" Gastly closed in, not tainting this time as the opponent was asleep anyway. This time it was a very elaborate lick, and Misdreavous started to shake. The lick woke her up, but she still couldn't move. Her eyes were in wild panic but small sparks seemed surround her, different from spite's effect. Paralyzed.

"Misdreavous, I need you to focus, you don't need to move to be able to win this battle, you just need to be able to control your eyes and your powers. I want you to use Psybeam as soon as Gastly becomes a target," Cain's orders came almost mechanical now, she was getting the hang of the game and how it worked and she was noticing Gastly's weakness to the Psychic attack. One more good blow should do it.

Similarly Gastly received an order from its trainer to sue lick again, but the ghost stayed carefully behind Misdreavous, not getting inside range. Gastly licked Misdreavous' back, making her shiver once more but she still couldn't move. Then he tried again, but this time he forgot to stay away from Misdreavous' eye-sigh and went for the full-on effect. In return he got a full-on Psybeam.

Cain was relieved to see that this time the Psybeam seemed to be even stronger than the first, Misdrevous cried out as more red sparks attacked her, and the Gastly cried out as the painful waves hit it. In the end is was Gastly that fell. Its trainer swore as he called him back, shooting glares at Cain. Then suddenly he pulled off a wicked smile, reaching for another Pokéball. "Beat this kitten!"

Cain let out an involuntary gasp as the guy released a fully evolved Gengar, ready to fight her. She glanced at Misdreavous, who was in no condition to fight. She jumped as there was suddenly clapping in the room. First thing she noticed was the man, he was cloaked as the others but he was different. There was a vibe around him, a vibe telling her not to mess with him. A sort of survival instinct telling her that nothing is right about that man. And her instincts were usually right.

The next thing was that Oak was on the floor, held down by something she couldn't really place. It looked like a shadow, but almost like a shadow that was alive! "That's enough, all of you can leave us alone now" Even his voice scared the **** out of her.

"Now where were we, oh yes I'd like to introduce myself" He removed his hood, revealing unsettling white eyes and black hair. He knelt by Oak with a dagger, but there was nothing Cain could do. Her brain was urgently sending her body the message not to move. To move is suicide was the clear message. It was in those eyes…

"My name is Beo, it's very nice to meet you all, now Oak is there any last words you'd like to say to Kanto's last breath of life?" None of the words were really directed at her, or the other for that matter. This Beo kept his eyes on Oak while he addressed both them and him. He removed whatever was keeping Oak from talking. Naturally the man immediately burst into sound.

"You scum! Zypher will destroy you and these new trainers will help!" He yelled. In the back of Cain's mind she cursed Oak for pretty much blowing even the smallest bit of cover they might have had. He could have just the same drawn a target on their back with enemy written on it. Beo seemed to think it impudence as well as he covered Oak's mouth once more. A wicked look came over him, and that looks was enough to tell Cain exactly what he would do.

"You fool! I have already won and I will use this dagger to kills Zypher as well!" He yelled with a laugh, plunging the dagger straight into Oak's chest. He shuddered a little before becoming entirely still. And Cain could do nothing than stare in almost morbid interest, unable to keep her eyes off of the scene.

He moved the dagger to his mouth and Cain couldn't help but close her eyes then, motioning her hand across her body in a cross for Oak's spirit. "Now listen don't be frightened I just wanted to come and introduce myself to you all, it's not yet your time to die." Cain couldn't help but listen to his every word, his predicament that meant that their time to die surely wouldcome. "No I want you to suffer first and be willing to give into the darkness, that's when will meet again" And that was the last she heard as he disappeared.

Instantly Cain fell to her knees, a sob getting stuck in her throat though no tears came. Adrenaline was far from gone in her body and panic was still present as well. Whatever the hell she had worked herself into, there was no pulling out.

Lynette left her hideout, which was in the desert. The sand blew in her face, but she was used to this, and she had equipped herself with Go-go goggles to protect this. She knew of the desert's dangers, so she kept an empty pokéball on her at all times. She walked out to the edge of the cliff to look to the sun, which was dulled by the never-ending storm. She sat at the top, near her hideout, where she had been hiding from the Brotherhood. She was anxious to get on the boat the next day, which would take her to the most renowned professor in the world, Professor Oak. Her hair blew behind her and she stared at the sky aimlessly, but lost in thought. She looked around, then below her. She thought she saw a strangely colored pokémon at the bottom so she leaned over. Was that an orange-colored Cacn— At that moment, she slipped and plunged down the slanted cliff.

Lynette attempted to stop, but the best she could manage was stay up, and slide down on her rear at a fast pace. She continued sliding until she reached about a foot above the bottom, at which point she kicked off to jump into the sand. She landed with partial weight on her right foot, but as soon as the rest of her weight followed, a giant circular pit-fall trap had collapsed in, the funnel led to a main center, a Trapinch's head. Oh s***! was all she could think as she continued her plummet. She had been in this position before, as she often came near the desert. She looked as the Trapinch opened its clamps to latch on her leg. Trapinch were like Pit Bulls, once they bit on, they never let go. Again, Lynette kicked before reaching the bottom to land on the other side of its head, where it looked in surprise. It attempted to turn around, but Lynette grabbed its head and pulled the entire pokémon out. She fell a few yards below the hole into the Trapinch Tunnels. She held the flailing pokémon on each side of its head while it attempted to bite her, but Lynette held on tight. She simply threw the pokémon headfirst into a corner of the tunnels, which would normally knock any regular Trapinch out, giving her time to escape. She turned on her heel to run before it got up, but it locked itself onto her leg.

"Agh!" She yelped in pain, since she was below the sandstorm she was able to open her mouth "How did you?!" Her ankle began to bleed as she began dragging herself toward the tunnel's exit. Lynette pulled her pokégear out of her pocket and brought up a map of the tunnels, which she used often around her current base.

She swung her leg at another corner, trying to knock the Trapinch off of her leg. Lynette's kick was hard enough to bring it off, but it landed on its tiny legs, and the "Ant Pit" pokémon looked up to her, determined for its rightfully earned food. Lynette favored her ankle, by leaning most of her wait on the other one and then she held out her left hand. "Oh, you want thiiiiiis?" She inquired, taunting the pokémon. The common desert pokémon latched on, again with surprising speed. Lynette didn't care as much this time, as she was hoping it would bite. Its power, however, was enough to make her left wrist bleed. Hope it didn't cut my main artery... She swung her arm around on the corner again, and it grunted in pain. She kept this up until it landed, panting, injured extremely bad. She looked at the helpless pokémon, feeling pity, for the first time in her life, for a living creature other than herself. Lynette bent down, and pulled a poffin from her pack, which she fed to the poor pokémon.

She patted its head "I can't just leave you to die… do you want to come with me?" It panted, its jaw clenching its teeth, with a lightened anger after it was fed. "Well, regardless, you're going to be healed…" and with that, she pulled out a pokéball, her only one, and tapped it gently. If the ball were to wiggle, she would let the Trapinch try to escape by letting the ball drop to the ground. It made a slight ding noise as it stayed in her hand. She captured her first pokémon.

She looked at her device with the map still on it, "At least I'm near the exit…" and she began limping toward the exit.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next day, Lynette got on the boat to Vermillion City in Kanto, she kept her pokémon on her belt, even though she planned to release it after she was finished healing it. Vermillion City has a good healing area for Pokémon anyway… Lynette was only deceiving herself; deep down she wanted to spend more time with this unusual Trapinch. Stitched up, she limped, a little better limp then previously, to her quarters. Lynette had an appointment with Professor Oak the day after her boat arrived, and she had arrangements with a Dragonite flying service to take her to Oak's Lab, so she slept the boat ride away. Lynette usually just got seasick anyway.

Lynette stumbled off the boat, trying to find her land legs that she would normally be accustomed to, but with the swaying of the boat, she was used to the ground moving. She looked around and stumbled to the pokémon center, she looked at her device again for the time. I sure hope thirteen hours is enough for them to heal Trapinch. Lynette walked through the doors that slid open for her.

"Hello! the smiling Nurse Joy greeted the gloomy-appearing trainer "Will you be staying for the night or does your pokémon need to be taken care of?" she asked cheerily.

"Both, Reservations for Lynette, and here is my Pokémon." Lynette bluntly retorted back, handing the high-tech capsule from her belt to the Nurse. Before the Nurse could say anything, Lynette walked upstairs, went to her room, then took a shower after the salty air had made her skin dirty. She crawled in bed, and set her pokégear to emit a large, annoying noise to stir her rest at four forty-five tomorrow morning.

She awoke the next morning by the loud noise, and she quickly turned it off. There she lay for about five minutes, until she shot straight up, remembering the Dragonite would pick her up at five o'clock. She staggered out of bed, quickly throwing on her usual clothes, and cleaning the room up. She looked at her pokégear, Four fifty-five?! s***! I hope Trapinch is better! and she ran out the door, where she stepped on a silver plate with her pokémon's capsule in the middle of it. The pokéball flung up, and hit a door hard. Noises were always loud in the morning, and this sounded like a gunshot. She picked her pokéball off the ground, hoping no one had been woken by the inconvenience, then she sprinted downstairs and out the door. She met the Dragonite just as it was turning to leave. "Erm.. Sorry I'm late, I'll tip you extra."

"Nite!" it cried in happiness, as it did its job. Lynette climbed onto the Dragonite's back, and it shot with such great force off of the ground, that she almost lost her grip. Regardless of the strong wind and the Dragonite's speed, she was able to keep her grip, however, and it was about a two-hour flight to the underground lab. They landed on the ground with a thud, and Lynette quickly hopped off and ran toward the entrance to Oak's secret lab. "Dragggoooonnn!" the taxi pokémon cried as Lynette forgot to pay.

"Oh, right, here you are," Lynette said, tipping the dragon handsomely before turning around again to enter the secret lab. She walked in late, the Professor already talking about the areas of Kanto that were lost in darkness. Lynette looked around at the other five trainers, each with their own, new pokémon. She sighed at the thought of missing whatever pokémon he was going to give her.

The ground began shaking out of nowhere, and that is when Oak's immaculate coat had been soiled with his coffee. However, no one worried about the old man's lab coat, they were all more concerned with the task at hand. "Run." the Professor had said all too late, as six men in cloaks rose from the shadows. Lynette had turned to run, but was, of course, a futile escape attempt. All of the men had already appeared, each one removing one of the pokéballs from his belt. All of them, however, had summoned a Gastly. Lynette and the other trainers summoned their own pokémon to retaliate, Trapinch seemed like the most pathetic defendant there.

"Trapinch! Go, use bite right away!" Lynette screamed as the others were occupied with their own battles. Trapinch reacted as fast and soon as he could, but with its short legs, its attack would fall short. Gastly seemed to know exactly what to do, as it dodged with ease by floating upwards, then using the move Spite on the grounded Pit Trap animal. Damn it, if Trapinch gets too tired to use Bite, this fight is over! Lynette observed her Trapinch become tired, so she shouted out another command for Trapinch to bite the gas pokémon. He charged, this time jumping, and grabbing hold of the Gastly's head. They landed with a thud, but Trapinch had begun constricting its head.

"Gastly, don't just stand there, you worthless pokémon, Hypnosis!" the Dark Brotherhood member had shouted to his Gastly. At that close range, Gastly was able to hit the Trapinch with ease. Its grip easing, the pokémon had fallen asleep and Gastly escaped its deadly jaws. The ghost went in for a Lick, and it easily succeeded as the Trapinch was only just now waking up. It hurt the already-dazed pokémon, dealing damage to it, but Trapinch stood tall, at least, as tall as a Trapinch can stand.

"While it's near you, bite, and chomp down hard!" Trapinch did as it was told, and bit down without hesitation. The bite was just about to kill the ghost, as it was returned. Gengar took its place on the battlefield, and every living thing turned its attention to a dark man that was sitting in Oak's desk.

"That's enough, all of you can leave us alone now," he says as he waves his hand and Lynette turns around to see the cloaked trainers behind her vanish once again into shadows. "Now where were we, oh yes I'd like to introduce myself!" the man said, acting civilized, but Lynette knew him, oh she knew him too well. She saw him that night… the night her parents were stolen from her too soon.

"My name is Beo, it's very nice to meet you all, now, Oak, is there any last words you'd like to say to Kanto's last breath of life?" Beo asked Oak as he removed the shadows covering his mouth.

"Beo…" Lynette repeated, muttering under her breath. This was the first time she had heard him speak his name. She saw him earlier in her tragic life, but she never got to speak to him.

Lynette watched in horror as the man killed the most renowned Professor in the entire world die. However, she didn't see Oak at that moment. Lynette only saw Beo killing her mother. Her eyes filled with tears, as she screamed, even though he was gone.

"WHY?! I SWEAR, ON THIS DAY, I WILL BRING YOU DOWN!!" She didn't know if she would fulfill that promise, she actually thought deep down in her heart, that she wouldn't be able to, and it would most likely be Zypher to do the honors. She didn't care. Lynette only fell to her knees in complete and utter emotional pain. Her Trapinch walked closer to Lynette, but she only pushed him away, wanting to be alone, even though there were six other trainers in her presence.

((OOC: She would grab her pokédex before she leaves, just clarifying to lighten any confusion))

"Welcome, all of you," came a slightly raspy voice as an aged old professor welcomed six young soon to be trainer's into his underground lab. Well, maybe not pokemon trainers, but freedom fighters. Just seeing these young hopeful's brought a smile to his face. "Come, come," he hurried, holding the door open until the last one entered. It was a short boy with dark, unruly hair with his head down and arms wrapped around his body. "You ok, son?" Professor Oak asked, placing a hand on the boys' shoulder. To his shock, the boy jumped away at the touch and actually bared his teeth and hissed like some estranged animal.

"Don't mind him, Professor," another boy said, throwing a glare at the boy before offering an apologetic smile to the shocked professor. "He's just touched in the head."

The boy, a young Gil Tess, finally lifted his head to show off dark circled eyes that were lit up in a beastly glare. His lip curled. "Don't touch me," he said lowly, eyes shifting to each person in the room with a look that promised pain if they went against his wishes.

"It's alright, son," Oak said soothingly, "we're all friends here. We're all in this together, understand?"

Gil's gaze flickered back to the gray haired man before he allowed a scowl to bloom as he turned away, dark eyes watching the spare bits of shadowy wisps that slinked about the lab.

Giving the boy a worried look, Proffesor Oak began his speech, even though he knew the young lad wasn't listening. He watched the poor boy carefully, recognizing who he was. Gil Tess, brother of Shaun Tess. Professor Oak inwardly shuddered, remembering the violent boy from a year ago when he came to recieve his own starter, but brother's weren't always similar, and this poor boy was still suffering from the shock of seeing his father being eaten by a Dusknoir.

    4...5...6...

Gil gave a fierce glare to anyone that looked at him as he sank to sit on the balls of his feet in a crouching position on the ground. He knew what they were thinking, that he was touched in the head, that he was insane, that he shouldn't be allowed to be given a pokemon. There were plenty of wacko's out there with pokemon, so why add one more? Well, screw them. Screw these little children that haven't experienced death or true horror.

Just thinking about his father being ripped apart, blood flinging everywhere, and being swallowed by the huge, gapping mouth in that Dusknoir's stomach made his blood churn with hatred... nay, loathing. He loathed ghost pokemon, and he hated people that would use him.

    "Son, are you listening?"

Gil's head snapped up, body tensing as he caught the sight of a pokeball hovering in his face. Bewildered, he took the pokeball and pokedex before glancing up into the Professor's face, unaware of the exasperated glances being thrown his way. "Mine?" he mumbled, fingering the pokeball, a devilish grin spreading. His eyes widened, dark circles more pronounced and eerie to all that gazed upon his insomaniac face.

"All yours, just like they have recieved their pokemon," Professor Oak said with a smile before blinking as Gil released his pokemon with burst of white light.

Before Gil's eyes was a red and black striped pokemon. It stood on its haunches, face alert before it looked Gil over and allowed a large tongue to pop out in an excited pant. "Growlithe," it barked, licking at Gil's fingers.

Gil watched curiously, tilting his head in that animal like way of his before his sprang up from his half crouched position as the building began to shake. Growlithe sprang in front of his master, prepared to fight to the death, just as he had been trained to, against whatever was coming.

In the chaos, Gil heard the Professor shout, "Run!" but it was too late. Dark cloaked people were rushing into the building as a hole was basically blasted into the side of the building. Gil bared his teeth in anger, fists clenched and eyes narrowed as a man strutted in front of him. "Little light babies, hmm? Well prepare to die, scum!" With a snarled yell, the man unleashed a pokemon that erupted in a flash of white light.

"Gaaastly!" the pokemon called hauntingly, laughing demonically as it bounced about with a sneer on its face as it glared down at a growling Growlithe.

Again Gil sank to the balls of his feet and wrapped his arms around his body, eyes wide as he gazed at the ghost pokemon. He was stuck in memories, unable to do anything but gaze blankly.

The man scoffed. "Scared of ghosts? How have you survived this long? Gastly, kill the brat."

"Gas," Gastly hissed in confirmation, long tongue escaping from its fanged mouth, ready to eradicate his masters enemy, but a loud snarl echoed throughout the battle as the fire dog leapt high into the air, white fangs flashing as it clenched its teeth on the ghost pokemon.

"Growliithe!" Growlithe howled, eyes bright and fierce. No one would harm his master!

    7...8...9...

Ghostly hand tickled over his skin in a teasing manner, offering no clue as to whether or not they would be kind and gentle or fierce and hurtful in the next. Gil could only shiver as yellow eyes watched him mockingly as he was held down and left vulnerable in his pathetic state.

    Dusk...

"Gasstly!" Hisses and howls erupted from the battle as Gastly's eyes glowed and rings upon rings of Hypnosis were thrown about.

"Gro! Gro! Gro!" Growlithe snarled with each leap as he jumped away from each attack. The fire pup glanced at his trainer, taking in the glazed look. His master's mind was not focused on this battle, and that meant it was up to him to take care of everything. And he would, he would make his master proud. "Lithe!" With a mighty snarl, Growlithe once again sank his fangs into the gas like hide.

"Spite!" the man shouted at his pokemon.

Hissing like an estranged serpent, Gastly's eyes once again glowed and Growlithe began to feel his attack weakening. He released the Bite and jumped back, confused as to why he felt he wouldn't be able to keep up his attack for long. However, from his confusion left an opening, and Gastly used that time to attack.

"Lyy!" Gastly yowled, Licking the fire pup from face to back, sending spasms of disgust and pain running through his body.

Blood flying everywhere, haunting eyes still watching him in sadistic glee. His ankle was grabbed and he was held up in the air to stare down at the deformed form of the man who had, while not loved or cared for him, given him a home and protected him from outside forces until now.

He was dropped to the ground, body becoming soaked with blood. Sharp claws grabbed his hair and snapped his neck around where his gaze was met with a gapping mouth that was tilted up in a sadistic smile. He could only watch, horrified, as limbs were stuffed into the mouth and swallowed with demonic glee.

"Gaaa!" came the high pitched scream as Growlithe actually tore some of his body away from another Bite, eyes wild with rage as he glared at the despicable ghost that tried to attack his trainer. Sure, its trainer had tried ordering another attack, but the poor excuse for a pokemon was ready to follow through with it!

"Groel," Growlithe growled, standing proudly in front of his master before nudging him gently.

Being thrown to the ground with nothing but a haunting laugh to fill his mind as conciousness left him...

Gil blinked, finally taking note of all that was happening. He planted his hands on the ground and leaned on his feet, looking like his Growlithe that was sitting in a similar position. He looked at everyone battling before glancing to the man in front of him, taking note of his weakened Gastly. He inwardly screamed with rage before allowing a pleased grin to spread. "You attacked," he said simply.

"Growl," Growlithe barked proudly, giving a quick snarl as Gastly tried to rise from the ground.

Gil's grin turned sadistic. "Destroy it."

Faltering for only a moment, Growlithe lunged, teeth sinking into Gastly's face and actually piercing one white eye. The trainer howled in outrage and quickly returned his pokemon. "You damn mutt!" he screamed.

Gil tilted his head curiously, deranged grin still in place. There was no sanity in his eyes at the moment. "Kill him." He said it simply and with no remorse.

Growlithe once again faltered, but before he could he even attack, loud clapping filled the air. Gil turned around, noticing a dark man sitting on Oak's desk with the old professor tied down by shadows. Gil's gaze never left this strange man's face, far too gone at the moment to take in his dangerous aura.

"That's enough, all of you can leave us alone now," he says as he waves his hand and Gil turns around to see the cloaked trainers behind you vanish once again into shadows.

"Now where were we, oh yes I'd like to introduce myself," He says as he removes his hood revealing pure white eyes and long spiky black hair. He then pulls a small blood stained dagger from behind his cloak and knelt down besides Oak. Gil only watched curiously.

No I want you to suffer first and be willing to give into the darkness, that's when will meet again." And with that he snapped his fingers and was gone.

Immediately the other trainers began screaming and muttering to one another in fear, unsure of what to do.

Gil simply leaned his head back and laughed; the sound echoing in the now silent lab hauntingly.

    10...

    Ready or not...

    "Here I come," Gil grinned.
