  • Hey My name Scott, I'm 20 years old and live in sydney Australia. I choose the name Chillout as it tends to be something i say quite frequently. Im quite Athletic but i still take my academics seriously. Im in Uni studying to be a primary school teacher. My favorite sports are NRL, baseball but i also play cricket. I love to play soccer but i hate watching it. I also try to do weight training 3 to 4 times a week. I try to look after my body and see a personal trainer (my brother in law) quite often, usually every time he comes over turns into a training session were quite competitive (usually i win on strength but he wins on speed). I have 4 tattoos I live on my own and have pretty much since i turned 18, but my girlfriend spends most nights with me as she does not get along with her family. I work at dick smith Electronics which does not pay that well i usually just make it every month, but my parents offer help when i need it and sometimes i do.

Well that is pretty much me i might add more later and again Hi everyone.

  • Wow, sounds like you have a lot on your plate. I'm actually going to be an elementary/primary school teacher too. :] Always nice to see others going into the world of teaching! And I think that's a nice username too. I used to say chill out a lot, but now I tend to say "CALM YO SELF GURL" instead. Buuut, I don't work out, play sports, or have tattoos. And I'm job hunting right now. Sounds like you're ahead of me there, haha. Then again you're older.

Hope to see you around Chillout, and welcome to PC! If you need anything or have any questions or whatnot, just come find me and I'll help if I can. :]

  • Haha, hey, a little competition makes working out a lot more fun. I've noticed I'm a lot more driven to complete my routine at a harder interval when I'm at the gym with someone than when I go alone, so you're lucky to have a built-in partner in the form of a brother-in-law! They keep ya motivated.

I too was gonna go into the education field, but I decided nursing was really more the direction I wanted to head into. Even so, Education is a great field to get into. The world needs more committed people to teaching our youth~ Good luck!

Aaaand that is quite a lot to handle, actually. Just the drawbacks of being a 20 year-old in a post-industrial country. I'm sure it'll all pay off in the end. At least I hope it does, for both our sakes...

    Welcome aboard, Chillout~

  • I guess that's cool. A gym junkie who frequently visits there to work out, is training to become a teacher and plays Pokemon. It seems like you're a triple thread. :D Also that you live in Australia, which earns you even more coolness points from me. :)

I don't really want to do anything which involves me going back to school, but I just want to be some sort of Graphic Designer, specialising in Web Design mostly. I've already got a TAFE certificate in it, so I guess that's a start. Next step is just to get me a job so I can afford to study and get another one. :)

Welcome to the forums. :) Make sure you read the rules, and don't wing it. :P

  • Calm Yo Self GURL defiantly going to try that one day probably on my little sister.
And yeah I do notice that when i train with my brother in law we train for a lot longer and a lot harder than we do train individually.
It can get a bit stressful living on my own sometimes it is hard but i would never go back to my parents.
I honestly would recommend to all people age 15 and up to start saving so when you have enough money, you can move out. If if like me you have your parents help buying the apartment. ( I did not want to pay rent i hated the idea of having a land lord but having a mortgage is worse)

However I have learned so much living on my own that i would never have learned at home with my family, and i now appreciate my parents so much more than i ever did before.
But in saying that i don't think it is for everyone,
I remember the first few weeks were terrible i was alone and it was so quite. A little bit creepy.
Then to make matters worse I spent most of my money on appliances, and then i had party. Then the next day when i went to have breakfast i realized other than chips, dips, leftover pizza, alcohol and some vegetables. I had no food and hardly any money left, so i think i had like 22 dollars left, so i purchased some Weet-bix Milk and some bread and peanut butter. Then went home to my mum and dad and asked for some money and they said NO. Now looking at that now I'm so glad they said no It taught me how to budget and not to waste all my money on a party.

And yeah i already read the rules don't plan to make myself look like an idiot. I also totally see where your coming from at first i was like spending the rest of my life a school is a big major downfall but i think it will be different on the other side more enjoyable and hopefully i will make it more fun for my students than my teachers did for me.

Hey Chillout! I think that's a pretty tight name to be honest. :D

I'm... strangely incredibly similar to you. I consider myself fairly athletic too, and like Syd I'm going to go for a degree in Elementary Education. I find it amusing how most people who decide they want to become teachers either had a really really good teacher that made them want to inspire kids like they did or they had a few bad eggs that inspired them that they could do better. XD But hey, it's nice to see a new face around the forums!

Welcome and have a good time. We have a pretty awesome community of people of all ages so don't be afraid to say "hey" to anyone who looks interesting because chances are they'll talk back. :3
