OK, I've just gotten my permission from Jake to plan and run this event. The "how to plan an event" thread was a little more intimidating than I expected, but I'm sure it's daunting for all first-timers lol. Anyway, here are the details as I presented them to Jake:
OK, so I've been having thoughts as to the judges:
Since my event is a late addition, I might not get many people who see it and would volunteer to help me judge, so I'll probably end up having to defer to Jake to find them for me. Though I'm fairly sure I could wrangle a few people myself, if that's allowed.
Now, as to the prizes:
I was thinking of the usual 1st place, 2nd place and participant emblems. Would I have to create them? I don't have a problem with that, I'm just not sure since usually people who are not staff don't usually get to create new emblems.
Also, I was thinking. So as to not make this event exclusive to people with supportership, I thought maybe the regular members who wish to participate could do so by linking to a blog on an external blog site and if the winner happens to be one of those people, then they would also receive a PC blog as part of their prize. If there are any thoughts on that, please let me know.
That's all I've got for now :)

Shining Raichu said:This will be sort of like the Writing Competition except rather than writing a story, they're writing non-fiction. Unlike the Writing contest, there would be no template or 'prompt' and they would be given free creative reign over what they wish to write about, however guidelines will stipulate that the submissions must be a showcase of either the contestants' wit or emotive writing ability (or both). They can choose to write about any topic that pertains to their own lives or life in general, such is the essence of a blog.
Contestants will be asked to submit a link to the specific blog post that they wish to enter in the competition. I, as host, as well as two other impartial judges would read all the entries and determine the winner.
