Welcome to my second RP. XD Hopefully this one is as good as my last one. Credit goes to Pirate Hunter for inspiring the idea in my mind, and to Supervegeta for helping me flesh it out. Now, on to the Meat of the RP.
Character Profiles:
Premise:
Hello. Welcome to the new age of Pokemon. Our scientists have created a revolutionary new system to play everyone's favorite game, Pokemon. But, we are not ready to mainstream it yet. There are still many bugs in the game, and we need people to play the game That is where you come in. We have searched the web, and found a website that hosts the largest community of pokemon enthusiasts on the planet. We are sending out invitations to beta test our new game, and if you accept them, We will give you an all expenses paid tripto our lab, as well as free membership in the game. Thank you, that is all.
Story:
This RP takes place in the real world. Our world. Nintendo has perfected a virtual reality simulator, and for some reason has decided that the Pokemon World would be the one they bring to life. And they decided that you would make acceptable beta testers. But not all is as simple as it seems. One of the researchers has thought it would be funny to put a virus in the game. So they did, just to troll everyone. But the virus is wild and unpredictable. And it could cause the game to crash at any point.
You:
You are, well, you. You have been selected to be a beta tester for the game. One of you lucky little fools has also been selected to be the Moderator of the game, well, one of them at any rate. As beta testers, it is your job to go in the world, and push the limits of the game. Find any bugs and report them. And keep a log of your experiences in the game. Have fun!
A few mechanics of the game:
In this game, you will train pokemon and complete the gym challenge. But that isn't all. You will each have a certain class, and each class has powers. The classes use ABP to use the more impressive of these powers. You start with 2 ABP in the beginning, and you get 1 per RP day. I may also award ABP for good posts. Passive Powers do not require ABP and are always on. Active Powers require the use of you hard earned ABP, and you choose when to use them.
Also, when you run out of usable pokemon, you have a short grace period to get them healed. Once that period runs out, you are a viable target for attacks. If you run out of HP, you are teleported to the last save point you visited, losing half your money and a few items of my choice.
Classes:
Here are the classes:
Mono-type Specialist: These pokemon trainers are incredibly skilled at using pokemon of a certain type. You will choose one type, such as fire type, and pokemon of that type and that type ONLY gain the bonuses.
Passive Powers: Pokemon of your choosen type are a little stronger than usual. They also gain EXP a little bit faster than usual. And Pokemon of that type are also caught a little bit easier.
Active Powers: While in a battle, by spending two ABP, all moves that gain STAB from your choosen pokemon are made Super Effective, regardless of type, until the end of the battle. Note, they are only Super Effective if the pokemon's type matches the move. For example, if you use a fire type specialist, then the pokemon that gets the effeect must also be a fire type.
Dual-Type Specialist: Dual-Type Specialists are similar to Mono-Type Specialists, except that they choose two types instead of one.
Passive Powers: Dual-Type Specialist's pokemon gain a slight stat increase for each type they share with the trainer. It is also slightly easier to catch pokemon of the chosen types.
Active Powers: While in a battle, by spending two ABP, you can add temporary levels until the end of the battle equal to one third per type it shares with the trainer.
Breeder: These trainers are masters at pokemon breeding. That's about all there is to say about it.
Passive Powers: Pokemon around you have more eggs. This includes wild pokemon, so you may come across them randomly. Also, in addition to your starting pokemon, you also begin with an egg of my choice. And eggs hatch faster under your care.
Active Powers: By spending ABP, you recieve an egg. This egg has one egg move of your choice. There are some limits. Depending on what the egg is and what move it knows, the ABP cost will vary. You can only use this power once per day. And you must have parents for the egg in the same egg group. The egg doesn't have to be the same species as it's parents, but it must be in the same egg group.
Super Trainer: These trainers are incredibly skilled at battling and making their pokemon grow.
Passive Powers: Your starting pokemon comes at level seven. Also, your pokemon all gain levels faster than usual.
Active Powers: By spending two ABP, you give all your pokemon a large stat boost until the end of the battle. Also, they become inspired to do feats they wouldn't normally be capable of. Ask me what you want to make them do beforehand.
Move Tutor: You are very skilled at teaching your pokemon new moves.
Passive Powers: Take two levels off the rate at which pokemon learn their moves. Also, you no longer need TMs to teach moves to them. All you need to do is witness the move used in battle. Note, I will decide if they learn the move or not.
Active Powers: By spending ABP, you can make your pokemon instantly learn any move in the game, regardless of what the move is. I will decide the cost on a case by case basis. You may only use this power once every two days.
Catcher: You are skilled at catching wild pokemon.
Passive Powers: Pokemon are caught much easier than usual. They are also caught at a higher level. And, no matter how much you weakened them, they are back to full power when they are caught.
Active Powers: By spending ABP, you can catch any pokemon you meet without fail. This includes legendary pokemon, but those will be pricy. I decide the cost on a case by case basis.
Merchant: You are skilled at buying and selling and trading.
Passive Powers: You earn more money from battles when you win and lose more money when you lose. Also, stores have more goods for sale for you when you visit them. And they are a little cheaper.
Active Powers: By spending ABP, you can negotiate any deal. The deal you negotiate is dependent on the ABP you spend. You could get someone to give you their shiny Celebi if you spend enough points.
Item Master: You are a master with items.
Passive Powers: You start with two potions instead of one. Also, Items have a slightly increased effect when you use them. You also have a chance of winning an item after battle.
Active powers: By spending two ABP, items you use in battle are not consumed. They remain in your inventory after use. Note, this effect only happens once. Use them twice in the same battle and they are gone. In addtion, Items used in the battle have a dramatically increased effect.
Human Stylist: You make friends with pokemon much easier.
Passive Powers: The happiness rating of your pokemon increases far faster than usual. You can also attract and befriend wild pokemon, potenially catching them without battling, though I'll be the decider on that. Also, the move Return does double damage. And pokemon you catch have a random chance of knowing Return, as long as they don't have the move slots full.
Active ablities: You can make wild pokemon do things for you. The cost in ABP is dependent on what you want them to do.
Gambler: Luck favors you. And as such you can call upon it at will.
Passive Powers: None
Active Powers: You can spend ABP to make things happen. I will then roll a die, and depending on the result, good or bad things may happen, and not always what you want to occur. Not all luck is good... The more ABP you spend, the better your chances of getting something good to happen.
Moderator: Only one person can play a Mod in this. This is more of a subclass. The Mod still has to choose one of the classes above. In addition to the powers granted above, you also gain the ability to bend the rules of the game to your will. If you can think of it, you can try it, just be sure to ask me first.
