Nintendo has finally announced that the Global Connection will no longer work for any Fifth or Fourth Gen games. This includes Black/White, Black2/White 2, Heartgold/ Soulsilver, Platinum/ Diamond/ Pearl, as well as any and all spin-offs that took place within these generations. As such threads requesting trades or battling will be completely inaccessible to anyone unless you are using infrared connection with a nearby friend (this form of trading, as well as transferring Pokemon from older generations will still work properly, as they do not require an internet connection).
Sad times had by all, this makes the final and official "closing" (for lack of better words), of the Fifth (and Fourth) generation by Nintendo. But this section will still thrive! However, new threads containing trading and battling requests will be even less tolerated and will be deleted as soon as possible.
