Who Replied?Im not really into the whole math aspect of this, i just wants to know, if i breed the same two parents will i eventually get any hidden power i want for the offspring, or is hidden power tied to the parents?
Hidden power is tied to the IV's of the pokemon. So you need to breed for specific IV's at specific values.
Its annoying, long winded and due to hidden powers low damage not always worthwhile to be honest. I did it once and never again.

So, it means that i cant get any hidden power for the offspring with two specific pokemon breeding?
Anyway, as most dvs comes from the male, and i captured a wild male and tested hidden power on it. I got the hidden power i wanted, do this mean that when i breed the offspring will always have a chance of the same hidden power?

IV's are random, if you use a destiny knot then 5 of the IV's will come from the parents but you dont know which.

Ffs, why did the devolopers make it so damn obnoxious? If it could just follow a certain pattern there would at least be some method to the madness.
But....i see a contradiction here, if they are indeed random doesnt that mean that i can just breed any two pokemons and eventually get the hidden power i want? If they are random it should work right?
Nevermind, i just continued breeding and after a while i got the hidden power i wanted. So it seems entirely random, which is good, in a way, you will get the ivs you want in the end.
The aim is to get the best IV's you can to get the hidden power you require so to breed for the highest IV's to get the required level e.g. one IV at 30 5 and 31 etc. Having a random but low IV to get the hidden power will mean your pokemon wont be competitive if you care about that (but if you didnt why go for hidden power?)
