[Graphics] Pokemon fire red battle box help

Hi, I changed the battle hub in fire red, the one where it shows the pokemon's hp, lv, etc..
it all works completely fine, but I also want to change the battle box where it says "What should (pokemon) do" or at least change the palette of it.
the only thing is that I don't know at which offset, or how to change the palette of the battle box.
Does anybody know how to change it? thanks.

Hello there!

You can use Hex Maniac to change the box. When you open the rom on there, click on Graphics then Battle. You'll then want to click on the Text Box option.

You can change the palette there easily and even import a new tile set. I suggest to export the current tile set and edit that one if you're making a new tile set, to make sure everything goes where it needs to.

THANKS! I tried changing it through hexmanicaadvnace. the part where it says "what should this pokemon do" is now with the palette I want it to be.
But the part where it shows you which moves to select is still blue. I know there are two palettes for the text box, but even tho I changed them both, and even tho Hexmaniacadvance shows me that the image is indeed black and not blue. Whenever I test it out in the game it's still blue for some reason. I have no idea why is it like that.

If you're referring to the frame, then it's because it's an in game changeable option:


Swapping the the frame in game changes the frame used when selecting moves in battle. I don't know where these frames are in Hex Maniac so you can change the default one, but I'm looking for them.

I found the path: Graphics, text, boxes. You can edit all of the text frames here.


Hit the next button to edit the other frames.
