Introducing:
About
Spoiler:
Pokémon Radiant DX is an amazing and deluxe remake of Pokémon Radiant Version, a completed fangame which I made in 2018.
It is an open world Pokémon fangame set in Liberti, a beautiful region based on South Africa!
There is so much content in the game that you will struggle to decide what to do next! You can complete Quests, get stronger with Trainer Skills, make your way to the top of the League, or do the usual job of catching them all!
With so much to do, and a wide variety of game and difficulty options for the player, this game has something for everyone!
Though it is set in the same region, and has a lot of the same characters, Pokémon Radiant Version and Pokémon Radiant DX are very different from one another!
At the moment, Pokémon Radiant DX is in its earlier stages, though still should be an enjoyable game to play!
Questions
Spoiler:
Why is this better than the original Pokémon Radiant?
Spoiler:
Well, the last major update for the original was in September 2020, over three years ago! (There have been Bug fix updates since, but let's not nitpick!) I had a lot less experience! I have since worked on another fangame, and there have been several new version of Essentials which have come out, each with different challenges that I have had to overcome, and techniques that I have been able to learn. As a result, I think the end result is a lot better, in terms of polish and player experience.
How long does this take to complete at the moment?
Spoiler:
I'd say it takes about 8 hours to complete all the Quests and the Gym.
When will Pokémon Radiant DX be completed?
Spoiler:
I don't have an exact date, but I estimate some time in the first half of 2025. These things take time! I am planning on releasing updates incrementally, to make it easier to fix bugs, and also to keep everyone motivated, so expect the game to grow through 2024!
How often can we expect to see an update?
Spoiler:
It depends on many things, but the estimate is roughly every four to six weeks.
Help! I've found a bug! What do I do?
Spoiler:
Catch it with a Poké Ball! In all seriousness, send me a personal message on Discord, or post it in the channel on Discord. It will likely be fixed in the next major update, or sooner if the error is more serious and game breaking.
Which Pokémon are in the game, and how many will be in the completed one?
Spoiler:
There are 315 Pokémon in the current version of the game, spanning between Generation 1 and 9. There are no Fakemon.
The plan is to have every Pokémon that exists when the game is complete.

Can this game interact with the original Radiant Version?
Spoiler:
Unfortunately not, in any way.
Can I keep my save file when future versions come out?
Spoiler:
Yes.
What will happen to the original Radiant?
Spoiler:
It will stay as it is until the full version of Radiant DX comes out, so it is still worth playing for now!
Has this got anything to do with Fantasy Version?
Spoiler:
No, the two games have nothing to do with one another, other than the fact that they were both made by me! They are not compatible in any way.
How can I play this on mobile?
Spoiler:
Though it hasn't been tested yet, on Android, in theory, this works on the JoiPlay emulator. I'm not sure about iOS.
Is there a speedup button?
Spoiler:
Not at the moment. But the text moves quite fast if you want to skip through it! There is a plan to add one in future.
What emulator is required to play this?
Spoiler:
None on PC. Simply download, unzip and then click on Game.exe (with the tree logo) to play

Imbues
Spoiler:
Along your journey, you may run into these items called Statuettes. Most fully evolved Pokémon will have a corresponding Statuette. If you visit a Battle Altar, you can pay some Dust (which is the main currency in Liberti other than money) to imbue the Pokémon that the Statuette represents. When that Pokémon is sent out in battle, it gets higher stats, and almost always has a new ability. There are about 100 new abilities introduced, mostly for imbued Pokémon! This allows some Pokémon to shine that have never shone before, and make battles more interesting and exciting!
Quests
Spoiler:
Liberti has a huge amount of Quests to complete, from cleaning up the city to saving the world! Put the player through their paces with the main Quest storyline and also a huge amount of side Quests, and maybe even run into some Mythical and Legendary Pokémon! (eventually!)
Quests are easier than before with the new Quest Markers which tell you where to go if you don't fancy figuring it out for yourself!
Skills

New Mechanics
Spoiler:
New Types
Spoiler:
It wouldn't be a fangame without some wild and weird new mechanics! There are two new types in Liberti, totalling the amount to 20.
The Sound Type is making some noise! Great at making waves in Water, and mixing up the molecules in Steel! However, it would not fare well in the cold, or if there is a rather large gust of wind! And don't try hitting a tree with it, as it does not make a sound when it falls! Pokémon like Exploud are now Sound types, and offer a helpful resistance to sandstorm damage.
The Ninja Type has been trained to dominate the battlefield, young Lokix! It fans out the flames of Fire types, and gives those Fairy types a reason to run back into their respective jars! However, a Ghost may give them a fright, and they should definitely be shouting "Get Me Out Of Here", as there's not a thing they can do against Bug types, but they can't be put to sleep, nor be affected by Intimidate, so I definitely wouldn't strike them off! Ninja types include Accelgor, Arbok, and the Kanto variety of Dugtrio.
Character Customisation
Spoiler:
Change the appearance of your character in many ways, both in clothes and in main appearance! There will be more options as the game is updated.
Difficulty
Spoiler:
Tired of how easy Pokémon games are? Or maybe you're rolling your eyes at yet another fangame that requires you to plan out for five hours in order to get through the next standard route trainer? Pokémon Radiant has a solution for both! There are several Difficulty options, including Set Battles, Exp Share All and my personal favourite, Silly Teams, which means that there is at least one ridiculously overpowered Pokémon for every main battle!
Accessibility
Spoiler:
As I was designing the remake, one of the main things I wanted to really emphasize with Radiant DX was accessibility, and the ability for people to play fangames who would not oridinarily be able to easily play fangames.
That is why there are a lot of Accessibility settings, including Dark Mode, for those like me who turn into dust at the sight of any light, and also this is the first fangame that I know of to have Text-To-Speech functionality for those who struggle with reading. To set up Text-To-Speech on Radiant DX, it takes a few more stages, but don't hesitate to contact me if you need any help.
I am hoping that this can be played by as many people as possible, and that disabilities do not get in the way of enjoying the game.

¡Español!
Spoiler:
I am hoping to release the game in several other languages in future. We're going international!
Randomiser and Nuzlocke Mode:
Spoiler:
Though I recommend playing the game normally first, unlike the original, Radiant DX can be played as a Randomiser and as a Nuzlocke, for those who are into that different gaming experience!
