Have any of you seen the classic 1982 "Rankin-Bass" animated movie called "The Flight of Dragons"?
It's about a guy who's a scientist, storywriter and game-designer (voiced by John Ritter, who also does the voice of Clifford the big red dog*). His name is Peter DlCKINSON (Is he related to Emily DlCKINSON?) and in real life he's an actual person who writes this book called "The Flight of Dragons". One day he gets sucked into one of his boardgames and winds up in ancient earth with dragons and stuff. You see these top wizard guys named Carolinas (green wizard voiced by Harry Morgan, also Colonal Potter on M*A*S*H *), Omadon (red wizard voiced by James Earl Jones, who also did the voice of Darth Vader*), and two other wizards realize that their magical powers are diminishing because the humans are beginning to rely more on science than on magic. Carolinas and the other to believe the best course of action would be to create a safe haven for magic outside of earth for when people stop believing entirely. The problem is that Omadon instead wants to eliminate the human race to keep his magic alive. So in order to defeat Omadon, Carolinas reaches out to a "chosen one" to teleport to their time and that chosen one turns out the be Peter DlCKINSON. Anyway, after he's been teleported, many adventures ensue throughout the movie.
So, if any of you have seen this super-cool movie and liked it (or maybe didn't like it), please speak up in this thread. I watn to know because I was watching an 80's movie on Cartoon Network's May Movie Month and it reminded me of this movie and how much I enjoyed it.
