    [PokeCommunity.com] 11/15 - COTD - Ampharos (EX: Dragon Frontiers)

    Rate & Review.

Thanks to Water Pokemon Master from www.pokebeach.com for the scan.

Brilliant Poké-Body, good attack. Good HP and a good type to have. Plus, Delta Species, good, can be very advantageous. Fairly good retreat cost too.

    I'd give it 8/10.

Woah! One card I would like to have! Like ^ said, great Poke-Body, good HP, and great move! Up to 70 damage with this guy! I want this card!

Actually up to 80 (doesn't say not counting him).

...This reminds me of Jungle Wigglytuff's Do The Wave, and it basically translates to the same thing with Ampharos's Poke Body, which can turn ANY deck into a Holon deck (and I mean ANY, seeing as it's colorless)...

    8/10

Do the Wave only did 10 damage.

This is no different form it but it has a interesting poke body. From a 2nd stage pokemon I would have expected more but it's not that bad.

Do the Wave only did 10 damage.

Plus 10 more damage for each Poke on the Bench, which is what I was referring to. Sorry for not making it clear.

Well, it's OK but if it's body gets shut down, it's completely useless...
That's why I don't overly like cards that are too dependent on their passives...

    6/10

Unfortunately, since it was ruled a misprint, it's not so useful. It only makes your Pokemon in play delta, not all Pokemon in play, so that makes the obvious combinations with Togetic d, Arbok d or Dewgong d/Camerupt CG redundant. Where it will come into play is with Powers and Bodies that assist delta Pokemon. For example, you could run it with a Feraligatr d DF or Gyarados d HP to get the 10 attack bonus, and Mew ex LM (not my idea though - saw it on the Gym), so you get to use your opponent's attacks against them with extra damage added. Or you could tech it into a pure Body deck like Lunasol and run Holon Legacy to get rid of your weakness. The other nice thing about Ampharos is that the other one in the format - Ampharos UF - has a very nice power that helps with energy shifting, so you can make use of that in a deck you build with Ampharos.
