    [PokeCommunity.com] 11/6 - COTD - Ninetales (EX: Dragon Frontiers)

    Rate & Review.

Thanks to Water Pokemon Master from www.pokebeach.com for the scan.

I played that card on the prerelease and sometimes it helped me. But the card isn't that good. Trick Tail is a useless attack, 2 energy for 30 damage but it might help to retreive dark/metal energys. It's pokepower lets him devolve, removing 4 damage counters and shock/imprision markers (if any)and you can choose for another Ninetales to play, but i don't think there are much Ninetales deck out there.

    Ahh... weird one...

Trick Tail is good for retrieving special energy but its power is WTFness...

I think this cards power is superfunky. It has very good stats ([P] type is a very heavy weakness), and a free retreat, like a Ninetales should have. It's also a delta type which is a good thing considering the number of cards benefiting d types these days.
Its attack is very splashable and the effect is useful, however it is too weak to focus a deck around. Volunteer is a really cool power, however the downside is that there aren't any playable Ninetales cards in the current modified (emerald=bleh) making it quite redundant.

Hehe, this card is one of the mainstays of my current deck ;) I love it. It looks really useless at first, and I almost traded the one I pulled at prerelease away... and then I realised what I could do with it and the *other* card I pulled at prerelease. Ninetales d is a pretty decent staller, since it self-heals using its Power. However, run it with a Nidoqueen d - stall with Ninetales until you get your Queen out, switch your Queen in for free, use Ninetales' Power repeatedly until you get all your Ninetales into the discard pile (you are allowed to use it more than once per turn since it's a new Ninetales each time, and you can also use it even if you don't have another Ninetales in your deck), then slap a Boost onto Queen and Vengeance for at least 70 straight off - probably the max of 90 for 3, since you'll of course be running Holon Engine and have discarded Pokemon beforehand, right? ;)

Nyah, do I see a zero retreat cost? Yes, I think I do. I love zero retreat costs. <3

I have to agree that the card in itself isn't the toughest fighter around, but do recall the poképower. If you run multiple copies of this card in your deck, it allows you to exchange every worn Ninetales for a new one while not only fishing up energy cards from your discard pile but also getting free attaches to whatever you have on your bench, which is good for quick buildups. I could also see this creating some interesting results by switching over to Brock's Ninetales (With which you could then use Shapeshift to evolve it into any given pokémon in your hand) or maybe switch over to Ninetales Ex for a some quick KOs. Of course, I've been detached from the TCG for quite a long time, so I might not know the current state of the game, but to me this looks like a cool card and I'd probably give it a try. The attack is kind of weak, but with a cost of two colorless and the added effect, I think it's a pretty good bargain. Do remember that this is only a non-ex, first-stage evolution card people. -.-

8/10 for its L33T supportskills and free retreating. ^^

It only says "Ninetales" or "Ninetales EX".

Oh, sorry. Somehow I managed to misread it as anything that has Ninetales or Ninetales Ex in its name. *Shot* No wonder I'm detached from the TCG. T_T

Grab a badly-needed Ninetales (ex) out of the deck and restore 40 HP, and take out a few Energy cards from the discard pile, which is really not a good place to be for them. Unfortunately, the Pokémon Power (which can be used regardless of Special Condition, which would be removed anyway upon evolution) is more than half the use of the card, so if your deck isn't comprised of more than one Ninetales, you're out of luck.

But for that very reason, CW, you would never run this card by itself. I mean, who runs 2-1 or 1-1 lines these days anyway?
