Firefox Should be Multilingual

A'ight, got Firefox 3 now it's not in beta anymore. Only problem now is I want to install it in two different languages and it doesn't want to co-operate. :/

I've downloaded the two and can install them no problem, but it eventually reverts to using only one no matter which shortcut I open.
Ideally I'd want the English one set as default and the Dutch one only starting when I click on its respective shortcut, but it opens the defaulted English one instead for some reason.

So anyone know how to keep them seperate? :0
I'd probably be better sending this to Mozilla themselves but can't find any E-mail for them. Eh.

Hmm... Problem is FF Portable doesn't come in either British English or Nederlands...

Oh wait, nevermind. I'll try the locale copying method I've stumbled across...

Dude, Firefox IS multilingual. There are versions in at least 45 different languages that you can download on their web site.

I think the multiple languages in one language version thing shouldn't be implemented because it would result in a much bigger download size. Most people are okay with only one language.

Each different language version of Firefox has a different installer so you can't tell me they can be freely switched between... :/
Well in theory they should and could be, but installing two Firefoxes at the same time, regardless of language, whichever one is set as default overrides the other.

Along the top in English we have File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools and Help.
Along the top in Dutch we have Bestand, Bewerken, Beeld, Geschiedenis, Bladwijzers, Extra and Help.
Now along the top of the Dutch version when we set the English one as the default browser we have File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools and Help. o_O

I never said anything about multiple languages being in one version, I'd just like it if the people who make these programs allowed the option for multiple instances of it to exist.


Aaaanyway, problem's solved now. I've got this Portable version Dutch and the two work fine together, so thanks j_ for telling me of it...
Only thing I need to know now is how to copy my bookmarks from one to the other. In other words, where's that little bookmarks file? :3

I personally use Foxmarks to keep my bookmarks synced with Firefox on different computers--and it would work the same for you, I think. Regardless, go into Bookmarks->Organize->Export HTML. Then just do the same in the other browser and import the HTML file of your bookmarks you'll save.

Also, if the main reason for wanting British English as your browser language was for the spellcheck... you can always just load a different dictionary. I have the British English version of Firefox but a Canadian dictionary installed because there are minor differences. :'D

Opera does multiple languages in one install and you can switch between them whenever you want :3 And it's a smaller download than Firefox *and* more fully featured. Go figure?

Well, I don't spellcheck, personally... Just thought — so there's no chance of any annoying problem randomly arising, I'd best get a British version.

Looking at the UI... I'll probably get that when I have a computer exclusively to my own self.
