This Fakemon needs work on it's outline. If you look at it's front wing, the outline is very irregular. If you look at some pixel art tutorials there is a proper outline tutorial.

look how the outline on the right follows sort of a pattern. For a more detailed tutorial and walkthrough go to this link.

This here is a sprite that shows some potential. I see a couple of easy things that you could do to improve this.

First let's take a look at the head. You've got a highlighted area on top where it should be, but your outline around that lighter green is much too light. You can really see where the much darker outline cuts off. Try using a darker green here, such as the one that you used to color the tail. It'll make the outline continuous and still keep the highlight.

Related to highlights are shadows. What you've got is more or less a straight line running across the sprite with everything below it in shadow. That make it look flat and looking flat isn't so great. If you look at my pal, Ekans, here

you can see how the light and shadow tend to follow the shape of the body since a curved body creates a curved shadow. Shading is just something you have to experiment with. It's worth making a copy of your sprite that you can doodle on so you can try out techniques.

One last point. Your linework isn't bad, but in a couple of places it could use some touching up. The wing on the right has a little green bump that's not attached to the rest of the green area on the wing. The tail is also quite straight and non-curvy which is not very snake-like and also contributes to the sprite looking a more 2-D than 3-D.

So, like I said, a good start and room to improve. Keep working at it.

Your Pixel Overs are really good, especially the Blaziken. Although, you do need to fix up on the smaller sprites.

New Fakemon. Replacing Venbra (Not sure of the name yet). Have fun rating! :D

you must work more in the sprites and the overs are anything exelentes

    I overdone that one. Phew.

I'm just posting that I'm thinking of something to do. Suggestions anybody?

The outlines on your pixel-overs are quite jagged (Mewtwo epseically - his thigh looks very mis-shapen and lumpy), and very poorly/inconsistently coloured, with spots of coloured outlines next to full black ones. They also have some problem points in the shading (The points where the dark and light colours meet are also quite jagged), palette choices (ex: Blaziken's face) and strange things going on (Why is there a gap in Blaziken's hair? Why are his eyes shaded so oddly?)

Is he wearing a coonskin hat? lol... just kidding. Nevertheless, his hair is lacking texture and appears to be a head covering... it's kinda smooth and rounded over...

so, scarf already gave you pointers on the serpente like shapes. I will admit though, they are hard to get down. I even have issues with that form.

But let me just crit on the basic anatomy...

The wings appear as if they are in front of the body... which i am assuming wasn't your intent. You need to differentiate them more from the body. You can do so by extending cylindrical potion more upwards, by removing that little piece of body at the lower base of the wing, or by entirely placing the wings behind the body for an "out of the back" look. Regardless, current pose is very awkward looking.

next, that tumor looking shading behind the eye... even if that is supposed to be a neck buldge (like vultures have) it is still a bit high up. If it isn't, you need to reverse the curve so that the head is overlapping the neck, and not the other way around.

like i said, these are just some basic crits on the anatomy. You can use it how you wish, but I hope to see you improve! You have a nice concept here, and with some polishing, you can work it into a nice piece of pixel art!

    Keep Spriting!
