    Ties of Water and Fire
    Author - Miyu-chan
Author Notes - I had this idea for like some years now. O.o; And it?s finally written! XD And it?s pretty short for the first chapter, I consider it more of a prologue. This will be a chapter fanfic.
Disclaimer - I do not own Pokemon, Team Magma, Aqua. They are the property of Nintendo and Gamefreak, etc.

    ---[START STORY]---

The cries of two newborn babies pierced the cool autumn night.

?Look!? the new father exclaimed happily to his exhausted wife. ?We?ve got twins!? he whopped, twirling his wife around the small room.

They laughed, drinking in the feeling of a parent. ?Now let mommy see you?? she cooed to the babies. The two baby girls were identical, with porcelain skin and tuffs of raven black hair. The only difference was that one had a red birthmark on her left cheek; and one had a blue birthmark on her right.

The mother gasped, her smile vanished, fatigue forgotten. ?Look!? she cried out to her husband in a voice filled with urgency.

Their father looked at their faces, and touched their marks, even rubbed on it, bought a little water to wash them off, but? no.

?It can?t be!? he cried in a voice filled with anguish, in a voice of a man that had everything and lost it.

?But it is,? the mother whispered. ?they fulfill the prophecy.?

She began to recite it, as in a possessed state. ?Two stars born on an autumn night, one blue, one red, they will bring the blight. Red will be shed, love be erased, but in the end, everything will turn out right.? she took a shaky breath to continue. ?Earth will tremble, water be raised??

?Shut up?? her husband said weakly.

?They will bring the end of our age?? she continued.

?Sweetheart? Can you hear me?!? her husband said frantically as he shook her, hard.

The knock on the door brought them both back to their senses.

?Open up! Team Magma?s orders!? a commanding but deadly voice said.

They looked at each other and acted. ?Sweetheart,? the father began, looking into his beloved eyes. ?you have to escape.?

The mother gasped, ?What about you?? she asked while putting the babies into separate baskets.

?Well, someone has to be the hero.? he said lovingly, taking one final look at his wife and daughters.

?Now go.? he said, pushing his wife out the door and locked it.

?Sweetheart?? the mother asked, trying to open the door, hearing muffled conversation bits, and one last yell of anguish.

    She had to run. Now.

She held her daughters, one underneath each arm. She ran, stumbling across the way, tears running down her face. She got to the river running between the border of Hoenn and Johto, collapsing near the shore, as she was still weak from labor.

?Be brave my daughters?? she whispered, putting them in the river, the two flowing in separate directions, the tie broken.

As she watched her daughters disappear into the sunrise, she came face to face with the blue uniform of Team Aqua.

?Where are they?? the Team Aqua member demanded roughly.

?They?re free.? the mother said quietly, but with a triumphant tone in her voice.

?Two stars were born on an autumn night, one blue, one red, they will bring the blight. Red will be shed, love be erased, but in the end, everything will turn out right.?

    ?Or will it?

Well... that's a good way to open things up. The newborns being pursued by Aqua and Magma...

Two twins being seperated at birth is rather trendy these days, however... *thinks of Sister, Sister*

Anyway, I'm looking foward to more of this fic.

Sister Sister? xD; lol. The Parent Trap was what really went though my mind while writing this. Glad someone likes it. =3 I'm just replaying Ruby right now to get more inspiration. xD; *is currently writing next chapter*

    Ooh..originality...ooh....

    >> <<;

I like it! The prophecy was okay, as long as you don't rush it too fast. I thought the whole prophecy in the beginning, as well as Team Aqua/Magma and the whole freedom of the babies were a bit fast paced, especially if all of the important events are stuck inside one chapter.

    Grammar mistakes weren't that many, maybe just the dialogue problems I always have as well. The only real problem I had was the length. I just felt it was kind of short for such important things happening at the beginning...but that could just be me. Anyway, nice job! I'm curious about the prophecy, as it remains covetous except the few hints here and there...like the marks on the babies. The babies' identities are also secretive...oooh. *-*;

    Keep it up! ^^

Thanks Lily. =3 And, lol, that could be because I wrote/typed it during the finals? xD; Inspiration just came to me, and I had to type... *_* More will be revealed, like this next chapter... =3

Ties of Water and Fire - Chapter two

    Author - Miyu-chan
Author?s notes - I decided to introduce more of the twin?s fates in this chapter. I wasn't really happy with this chapter though... it just seems weird. x.x; Maybe cause it's kinda dark and depressing? O.x; Well, I only showed one of their point of view, because? I just don?t want to write an almost similar scenario twice. Next chapter will be from the other twin?s PoV though.
Disclaimers - Team Aqua, Magma, Pokemon, and the blue orb, do not belong to me. They belong to the Pokemon company, Nintendo, Gamefreak, etc.

    ---[START CHAPTER]---

?It?s her, she?s supposed to be the harbinger of the prophecy.? someone whispered to her comrade.

?Well, I heard that she?s going to bring some kind of doom to the world,? her friend replied sarcastically.

Seventeen year old Mizuno Yoshiko ignored her gossiping so-called ?teammates?. Ever since she was brought in by Team Aqua as a little baby, instead of her porcelain skin, her long raven black hair, or her warm honey colored eyes, all they saw was the ugly blue birthmark that covered most of the right side of her face. By now she was used to this kind of treatment.

She walked on quickly to the boss? office, where she was called. She stopped before the small computer screen located next to the door.

?Voice verification, please.? a metallic female sounding voice questioned.

    ?Mizuno Yoshiko.?

?Verified, please enter.? the computer replied, its door sliding open to reveal Team Aqua?s leader.

?Yoshiko!?, Team Aqua?s leader, Archie said warmly, while sitting behind his desk, his legs crossed comfortably.

?Leader.? Yoshiko replied, head bowed respectively.

?You may be wondering why I called you here today, on this special day of your birth, the day you were brought in and raised by our kind care?? Archie began.

?Kind care?? Yoshiko thought. She remembered the glares, the mental wounds, the physical wounds? They were jealous of her. ?I wonder why?? she thought sarcastically. After all, she was an orphan, with nothing in the world.

?Yoshiko, you are the one.? Archie said abruptly, disturbing her inner musings.

    ?The one??? she replied warily.

?You are the only one who could control one of the deities, Kyorge to it?s fullest potential to fulfill Team Aqua?s dream.? he finished, leaning back on his chair, propping his head up with his palm.

?You mean to control the water deity? To turn the whole Hoenn region to water for the benefit of mankind? To be the only one to fulfill our dream?? Yoshiko asked dumbly, her eyes open wide in disbelief.

?Yes, yes, and yes.? Archie replied while leaning forward on his chair, while looking to stare at Yoshiko with an almost maniacal glint in his beady little eyes.

Yoshiko just stood there, staring dumbly into space.

Archie got up from behind his desk and walked in front of her, hand placed reassuringly on her shoulder.
?You can do it, I know you can.? he said kindly. ?You?ve always been one of our most talented trainers, both in strategy and in heart.? he patted her shoulder one last time and walked back to his desk, while Yoshiko just looked at his actions curiously.

He took out a beautiful blue orb from a concealed drawer in his desk. It was transparent in color, so that you could see the power flowing inside, like the movement of a river. Yoshiko could feel the power it was giving out, it was hitting her in waves, like the waves of the ocean.

    It was intoxicating.

To her utmost surprise, Archie placed the orb in Yoshiko?s outstretched palm, which she unknowingly held out, in order to ?feel? the power. She could feel it even more closely, every last detail of it. She closed her eyes as she started to give out a light blue hue.

?You will need this.? Archie said abruptly, averting Yoshiko?s attention.

She hated him. Why did he disrupt her joy? For the first time, she felt happy, and now? ?How dare him disturb her.? she thought angrily, not taking heed of Archie?s words, instead she just saw his mouth move, without a sound.

A branch of incomprehensible words escaped from her mouth, which bough Archie to the realization that Yoshiko wasn?t listening to him.

?Yoshiko??? Archie said hesitantly, approaching her cautiously.

The chanting stopped. Just as Archie was about to let out a sigh of relief, Yoshiko?s eyes shot open, glowing an unearthly blue hue. The air grew tense, making it hard for Archie to breathe.

Then it came. A power blast came from her chest and slammed into Archie. His eyes opened in shock as he flew across the room and slammed into the wall. He slid slowly down to the floor, groaning loudly while a trickle of blood escaped through his mouth and traveled down his beard. The groaning bought Yoshiko back to her senses.

?What? what have I done?? she whispered, looking at the blue orb in shock. Just because he interrupted her feeling the power, she did this?

?What kind of monster am !?? she said in a heart breaking voice.

She threw the orb across the room, which surprisingly didn?t break. It rolled over to Archie?s side, which caused him to open his eyes and mutter almost inaudibly, ?Yoshiko, we need you.? after saying thus, he lost to unconsciousness.

She ran back to her room, tears threatening to fall. She paid no attention to the whispers and rumors spreading like wildfire. ?They?re drowning me, I need to leave!? she thought frantically.

As the sight of her sleeping quarters came into view, Yoshiko stopped running and walked, exhausted to the door. She buried her head into her blanket and wept. Though no matter how she wept, echoes of Archie?s words kept vibrating through her brain.

    ?We? need you.?

    Author?s notes 2 - I?m a bit surprised at how quick I updated this, cause usually I take 2 months. xD; (J/K) And, err? I don?t really know what Archie looks like, seeing that I only have Ruby. x.x; Anyone who could supply me with a picture? I'll be eternality grateful. ;_;

[EDIT] Added a bit of Archie's description, thanks to Marina. =) And I also changed the mistake that Lily pointed out. Thanks~ =3 If I have any mistakes, feel free to point them out, btw. ;D

Here you go, 'yu-chan~ clicky =3

Great ficcy~! =3 I <3 how you did the prophecy, I just can't wait to learn more about it. And I have to agree with Lileh-chan that some parts were a bit fast paced on the first chappy.

As fot the second one, I wuv how you expressed Yoshiko's emotions; you could have add a little more detail, though. =]

Keep up the great work~! =3

    Mmm another highly original chapter.

I love how you began the story, with the expressed dialogues? (Despite the dialogue mistakes. ^^; Watch out for the comma and capitilization misusage...) Hmm, like this one:

?Well, I heard that she?s going to bring some kind of doom to the world,? her friend replied sarcastically.

Otherwise- I like the description of the blue orb, using a similie to describe the power of it (to the waves), very nice! I especially liked the line, "They're drowning me, I need to leave!" Another good element - water! Was that dialogue implied to the rumors and whispers that was drowning her? Still, I liked that part a LOT. Keep it up with these cool dialogues. ^^

Length was a tad short IMO. Yes, a bit more details would have sufficed, but like your other chapter, it was unique with Yoshiko's personality. Watch out for the grammar errors and a spelling mistake I nitpicked. X3

I liked it! Can't wait for your next chapter. ^^

Ties of Water and Fire - Chapter three

    Author?s Notes -
This is mainly a filler chapter, written to introduce the character of Yoshiko?s twin. This has to be the lamest thing I?ve ever written. O.o; Next chapter will be much more exciting?

Disclaimers - I do not own Team Magma, Aqua, Archie or Maxie. I do not own Pokemon or the red orb. Though Yoshiko and her twin are created by me, and they are mine~

The sliding door opened to reveal a girl around her teens, with clear, unblemished skin, except for the red birthmark that marred the left side of her face. Her long, ebony hair was swept up into a pony tail, revealing her luminous golden eyes. She was drenched in perspiration, from the long hours of training.

?Could you hand me that towel?? she asked a nearby girl, pointing to a towel on a rack. ?Yes, Hino-san,? she replied, flustered that someone of such a high rank would speak to a lowly grunt like her. ?here you go.? she said, handing her a fluffy white towel.

But sixteen year old Hino Yoshie paid no attention to saying thanks as she wiped off the sweat off her brow, for her thoughts was filled with something of much more importance?

?You are the One, Yoshie,? Maxie said to her seriously. ?your job is to summon the deity of fire, for the benefit of the Hoenn region??

He walked over to her, a red orb in his hand. ?Use this wisely, I know that the power is enthralling, but complete your mission first.? Maxie said as he placed the orb in her cupped hands.

The first thing that came into Yoshie? s mind was, Maxie was right.

She felt the power still flaring inside her, even though days have passed? she kept dreaming about it, unable to sleep? driven crazy by it.

The realization that she was sweating excessively bought her back from her musings. Yoshie wiped the remainder of the sweat off, wondering why she?d just felt like she was sleeping next to a furnace.

She tossed the towel aside, leaving the lowly grunt forgotten. She dressed back in her Admin uniform quickly and exited the locker room, hearing her name being called over the loudspeaker.

?Hino Yoshie. Hino Yoshie, please report to the leader?s office.? said Maxie? s voice, sounding rusted and metallic over the speaker.

?What now?? Yoshie sighed, apparently bored from all the walking around. Netherless, she walked towards his office and stopped before the small computer screen located next to the door.

?Voice verification, please.? a metallic female sounding voice questioned.

    ?Hino Yoshie.?

?Verified, please enter.? the computer replied, its door sliding open to reveal Maxie, Team Magma?s leader.

?Yoshie.? Maxie said coolly, looking up for a slight second before returning to cleaning the clutter on his desk.

?Maxie,? Yoshie replied coldly. She was the only one who had the power to call him like that, it was even rumored that she had more power than him? ?so, what delightful task would you like me to do?? she said sarcastically.

?As you know, Yoshie?? Maxie replied, holding a disgusting banana peel in his hand. ?your job is to summon the fire deity.? he dropped the peel in the wastebasket next to his desk, wrinkling his nose in disgust.

?Yes?? Yoshie replied, examining her fingernails. Would you just quit dancing around the topic and tell me directly?! her mind screamed at him.

?You need training spiritually in order to summon Groudon .? he said, dropping the bomb.

That really got Yoshie?s attention. ?You mean, I?m not skilled enough?? she questioned him, raising an eyebrow dangerously.

?No, you just need to practice more with the red orb.? He replied cautiously.

?Okay,? Yoshie replied quickly, yearning to touch the orb again. ?We start now.?

After a few minutes, they were in the courtyard of the headquarters, it was all silent and calm? The wind was blowing peacefully, the birds were singing. However, when Yoshie, dressed in traditional miko drab, started chanting in an ancient language all fell silent, as if something drastic was going to happen.

Drastic changes were to be made. The chanting started growing gradually in sound, beads of sweat appeared on Yoshie?s face, which was full of concentration. The whole place was ringing with her clear voice?

The chanting reached it?s peak, and then it stopped. As the birds resumed singing, the wind started blowing, Yoshie kneeled on the floor, eyes wide in shock, panting desperately for breath.

?Child, this is only the beginning?? Maxie said softly, his red hair blowing softly in the wind?

    Author?s Note 2 - I?ll update this once a week, BTW. n_n;

I like where this is going, it seems like the twins' lives mirror each other. I can't wait to see what happens when they come face to face! One thing runs through my mind though - radiation treatment XD. That's what I think of when I read about huge birthmarks XD.
