Sounds familiar? Oh ... I'm just reposting this old fic of mine... XD
Since I'm currently making myself look idle... (unlike before, pulling out a new fanfiction everyday... XD) I guess it's best to repost this... just to get my reputation of Pokemon Fanfic moderator back... ("Hey, that dude who just reviewed my fic and said that I need improvement? I don't see his stuff! What a poser!") <- That makes me feel disappointed... XD

    So! Here's Valentine's Day! If you've read it before, then that's okay! ^_^ If you haven't, please take your time and read to it... I'm desperate for your comments! ;o;

    Valentine's Day
    by Oni Flygon

The Ookido residence?s silent morning was immediately broken as the digitized beeping of the digital clock went off. 6:00 am the clock read. A wandering hand emerged from the stockpile of white blankets, hoping to hit the button in order to cease the digitized beeping of the clock. After a few attempts, the black button was finally pushed using the palm of the hand. The sound ceased and the hand withdrew back to the heap of blankets. However, due to the motion of the withdrawing hand, clock was accidentally pushed to the side of the table and it fell down to the carpeted floor. A groan of irritation came from the sleepy pile of blankets and pillows. The mattress creaked as he moved to his side. Thinking it was just another ordinary day, he opened his eyes to see a blurry mass of brown, white, and green.

Rubbing his eyes, he managed to stand up. He pushed the covers, scratched his disheveled dark brown hair and yawned, stretching his arms at the same time. He scratched his naked back and groaned irritably. He shook his head in order to stay awake and stood up from his bed, observing his room. This is the room of seventeen-year-old Green Ookido. Not the most welcoming room of Ookido residence but still livable. He pushed through his backpack, broken pencils, and balled up paper using his foot. He scratched his leg and didn?t mind what?s going to happen today since he?s only half awake, only wearing his checkered gray boxers and stumbling to the bathroom. Only one step to the bathroom, before he noticed what date it is. It was clear since the calendar was pinned on the door of the bathroom.

    February 14. Valentine?s Day.

His eyes widened and panic immediately pervaded through him. Fear and terror made his fingers tremble. How could he forget? Now, he was wide-awake. He was virtually terrified to what was going to happen today. He minded the only piece of clothing that kept his dignity and did mind his messy room and he was also worried that he was getting a tad bit late on going to school.

?**** it!? he swore under his breath as he quickly ran to the closet, slammed it open, and tried not to panic as he tried to look for his uniform. ?There it is,? he muttered to himself, grabbing the navy blue pair.

So why is Green actually panicking this Valentine?s Day? Let?s just ignore him for a while. He does need some private time while he accidentally steps on his clock and is currently moaning and swearing in pain. Let?s just don?t pay attention to those clothes flying around for a while and let?s go back a few days ago and see what?s so important this day.

    ~*~*~*~

?Green-kun, two more days until Valentine?s Day!? a perky and bubbly Blue cheered as she caught up with Green while he was coming to school.

Green simply looked at her in his usual narrow-eyed stare. Blue is a dark brown haired girl just like Green. Except she kept her hair long and she was quite perky and lively.

?And your point is?? he sighed. Blue would usually bug him during this time. Not that she?s his girlfriend (except that she was once Green?s girlfriend) or anything but Blue likes to get presents (she has the habit of taking any present that wasn?t intended to be hers?in other cases, ripping them off). Blue continued to smile, regardless of Green?s retort. Green sighed irritably again.

?Blue-chan. You know I really don?t like Valentine?s Day. I?m not much of a shopper anyway,? Blue giggled as they continued to walk. It seems that she?s contemplating on something devious again.

?You don?t need to give me a gift, you know,?

Green was shocked. This must?ve been some sort of achievement from Blue. Not getting gifts for Valentine?s Day? She would bug Green or Red during those two days before that day since Kindergarten (and then she would rip them off).

?Okay, Blue-chan, what are thinking of, now?? Green glared at her with discontent but she still retained her perky smile.

?You might not know what I?m thinking of?but I know what you?re thinking of!? she giggled again. They didn?t notice that they finally arrived at school. They noticed that when the school bell rang. It rang like a huge real bell with tones going up and then going down. Not like those irritating bells that just ring.

He still glared at Blue, and was ready to smack his backpack at her if she said anything offensive. But she might say something else. So all he can say for now is, ?What do you know about me??

Blue whistled. ?I?m thinking,? she said in a singing voice. ?You?re going to take Yellow-chan on a date!?

It was as if a brick hit Green the moment she said that sweet, heavenly name. He stopped in his tracks and his look was fixed down to the ground. Looks like Blue said the magic word that could possibly stop Green from glaring and make him start panicking.

?A?a date? NO!? Green stammered first but then raised his voice to a yell.

Who actually is Yellow-chan, you might ask? Well, if you ask Green himself, you?ll hear from him about all the sweetness in the world, all the kindness, cuteness, beauty, and shyness?are all packed into one girl. To Green, she?s just the cutest girl he?s ever seen. Long, flowing blonde hair, gentle, sweet blue eyes, cute, soothing voice?it?s as if she?s like a girl who actually came out from a fairy tale?in Green?s humble opinion that is.

?Oh come on, Green-kun. It?s so obvious. You have a crush on her?but what if?? her singing voice returned once more. ?Red-kun is going to ask her first!?

?Red?!? Green suddenly yelled. He clenched his fist as he began to walk again towards the school grounds. ?That idiot isn?t going actually ask her, is he??

?Idiot? Just because Red-kun is taking advantage of Yellow-chan doesn?t mean you start to hate him,? She muttered in discontent. ?What happened to those boys that used to hang out together in Elementary school??

You?re going to ask who Red-kun is, right? I knew it. All I can say about Red is that he (used to be) is Green?s closest friend. After a certain incident involving an ?accidental? kissing scene with Red-kun and Yellow-chan, Green started to hate him. However, in an act of mockery, Red became Green?s once again (self-proclaimed) best friend. Sure he might be a jerk?but not always. Red is actually pretty much a gentleman?around girls that is. He might be some goody-goody around Yellow-chan but when Green confronts him, he unleashes his sarcastic fury.

?I?m not talking about this, Blue-chan. Besides, we?re getting late for class?? Green muttered as they walked up the steps of the building.

    ~*~*~*~

?Onee-chan, have you seen those flowers that I placed in the vase here?? Green yelled frantically at his sister, who was putting on a lab coat on one side of the house. Green was very frantic. The flowers that he placed on a vase full of water have mystically disappeared from the kitchen. He bought a whole bouquet of yellow roses for quite a hefty sum of money?and loosing those flowers could mean two things: he wasted a whole month?s worth of allowance and that he wouldn?t be able to woo Yellow-chan to a date. But wait. He said that he didn?t want a date with Yellow-chan. What?s up with him?

?Flowers? You mean the yellow roses, right?? his sister called from the one side of the house. ?I placed them on another vase. They were dying, Green! Look over at the living room!? Green let out a disgruntled sigh. He stormed out of the kitchen and managed to get into the living room without making the vases and picture frames fall despite his heavy stomping. ?What are you so panicked about, Green??

?Nothing!? he hollered as he picked up the half wilted bouquet. Most of the leaves have turned dark green and some of the yellow petals have fallen off from the flowers. He wrapped the long stems of the flowers with some plastic that he found in the kitchen hurriedly.

?Who are you going to give those flowers anyway??

    ?No one!?

    ~*~*~*~

?Green! Hey, Green!? Green turned around to look over his shoulder that lunch period in order to see who was calling him. It was Red. Immediately, Green narrowed his eyes and muttered disgust under his breath.

?What now?? Green muttered under his breath as Red sat next to him. He tried to refrain himself from punching Red in the gut when Red ruffled his already messy hair.

?I heard from Blue-chan that you?re going to ask Yellow-chan to a date!? Red smiled arrogantly. ?Well aren?t we getting somewhere!? Red continued to smile while Green glared at him loathingly. He just wanted to punch that smile inside his face.

?We?re not, Red?I?m not going anywhere if you?re so interested?? at the sound of sentence, Red laughed loudly. It was so loud that many of the students around them looked at them both. People began to mutter out words such as ?weirdoes,? or ?freaks,? or ?dorks.? ?Stop laughing! You?re embarrassing us!? Green muttered at the corner of his mouth.

?Oh really?? he placed his arm around Green?s shoulders. ?Say, Green. Tell me the truth here. Do you like Yellow-chan?? at that moment, a malevolent smile crept across Red?s face. ?I know you do ?cause it?s very obvious how she blushes in front of you or how you try to be nice to her by opening the door for her??

?Shut up!? Green stood up, and started to yell. ?Dammit, stop poking your nose into peoples? businesses!?

Red laughed another hearty laugh. ??Poking your nose into peoples? businesses?? I didn?t know you use those kinds of expressions, Green! What a riot!? He continued to laugh and people started to look back at them. Green was fuming and was trying not to punch him in the face. He clenched his fists so hard that his fingers started to numb.

Before he could actually hurt him, Red started to talk again. ?Listen, Green. I respect the fact that you like Yellow-chan. I like her, too, you know. I mean, who wouldn?t? She?s the cutest girl in the world!? Red stopped surging with laughter and his malevolent smile returned. ?Listen, Green. Tomorrow is Valentine?s Day. We could both ask Yellow for a date at the same time tomorrow before school starts. But if you?re not there before?say?? Red scratched his chin as he thought for a second ??about seven o?clock. You don?t get the chance to ask her. Even if she turns me down.?

?And what happens if I get there and you?re not there by that time?? Green asked, still glaring with fists clenched.

?Same thing, bud. I mean I?m not a big asshole or something. I just want some competition.? Red?s evil smile subsided and was replaced with his regular one. ?So we got one day to get things prepared. May the best man win!? he stretched out his hand towards Green in order to shake.

Green stared at his hand for a second and grasped it, and clenched it hard. Red did the same thing without flinching and the two were soon hurting each other with a handshake. ?Yeah?may the best man win,? Green muttered under his breath.

He felt a surge of anger running through his veins. This could be his chance?his chance to actually prove to everyone that he really loves Yellow-chan. Why? It?s because he?s getting sick and tired of all of his friends saying that Yellow-chan should go with Red. It?s always like that. He just couldn?t hold it any longer if he hears another person say that Red and Yellow-chan should be together. To Green, the pair is just like a combination of honey and dirt (Yellow-chan being the honey?and well, Red is the dirt).

Green immediately withdrew his hand from Red?s grasp and continued to glare at him. He watched Red turn around with a delighted smile.

    ~*~*~*~

As the audience, you might be wondering what that kissing scene was, right? Oh you should have seen it. You should have seen the look on Green?s face. His fingers were trembling in fury, his eyes?well?you get the point. But this was how it happened?to Green?s point of view, that is.

It happened a year ago during Valentine?s Day. Yellow, being a prime target for both Red and Green would be happily strolling around with friends. Red has a box of chocolate in one hand a bouquet of flowers on another. Green was at his back. He asked Red to give those to Yellow instead of giving them personally. A mistake he lived to regret.

?Why do I have to do it? Can?t you give them yourself? I?m not your personal slave, you know!? Red bawled at him. They were standing near some bushes and trees, away from view. However, their argument seems to have been heard by the other students.

?Red, just give it to her! It?s not going to harm you.? Green yelled. ?Just tell her that they?re from me, okay??

?Baka! If you?re the lover boy, give it to her yourself??

?Shut up! There she is!? Green grabbed Red?s head and pushed it down to the bushes. Red growled in pain as both of them fell on their bellies and watched Yellow, along with Crystal and Blue walk along the path. They were talking quite lively and Yellow was giggling along with Crystal. Green felt confident that Red will succeed.

?Go!? Green pushed Red out of the bushes.

The moment Red popped out of the bushes, Blue, Crystal, and Yellow gasped at him. Green could clearly see Blue?s gleaming eyes as she saw the box and the bouquet in both hands.

?Not yours! Not yours!? Green muttered through the bushes.

Red stood up and dusted his pants before the stunned girls. Blue was moving forward but Red glared at her.

?Blue-chan, they?re not for you, okay?? Red growled.

Blue?s face fell and she let out a disappointing growl. She couldn?t possibly take away the presents in front of witnesses. Green?s palm immediately went sweaty as Red moved towards Yellow, who was blushing uncontrollably, and handed her the two gifts.

    ?Here, Yellow-chan,? he smiled enthusiastically.

Yellow slowly took the presents and stared at them, while blushing. Crystal smiled and Blue forced a smile in her face, hiding her disappointed reaction.

    ?You?re welcome, Yellow-chan! Happy Valentine?s Day!?

That was it? No mention of Green? Not even ?They?re from Green-kun?? How could he? He betrayed him. Now, he was just smiling happily as Yellow-chan smiled back. How could he? Green?s tongue swelled twice its size as rage rushed through his veins. His temples throbbed and his mouth could taste his own bitter saliva. His bloodshot eyes glared in a demented fury. All he could do is leap out from the bushes, swore out Red?s name, rush in front of him and punch him to the face. But that didn?t happen.

He leapt from the bushes, and in a fit of rage, ran towards Red, who was completely shocked, and aimed his fist. Before his attack could land, Red, turned around, accidentally knock over Yellow-chan, both of them fall down to the ground, lips to lips. To Green?s eyes, it all happened so slowly. The moment Red?s body fell on top of Yellow?s it felt as if he had multiple icy stabs pierced in his chest. Blue and Crystal were stupefied to see a man on top of there own friend, kissing her to the lips. Red and Yellow were unable to move due to the shock. Green stood there, panting and wheezing, and watched the dreadful scene. If he had the chance to gouge out his eyes at that moment, he would?ve done that.

?What the hell?? Green yelled out loudly as he ran down the street. He was running and people all around him moved slowly. He looked down at his watch and notice that it was only ten minutes to seven o?clock. His school is a whole fifteen minutes away if he walked.

?Move away, people!? he yelled through the crowd. Green was horribly desperate. Things could?ve been easier this Valentine?s Day if he didn?t accept Red?s challenge. But no. He has to get everything in the way just to show Red that he cares so much for Yellow-chan. Why? Because it?s more than a crush. He loves her. Even though he couldn?t say it to her face before, he could say it now to her. If only he could reach school in time.

With the half wilted bouquet in one hand, he stormed the crowd, almost knocked over an old lady, ignored the DO NOT CROSS sign, and ran through a ?short cut? but then realized that it led to a dead end. He swore at his luck as he began to sweat. His heart was thumping loudly and his fingers were trembling as he gripped the flowers. He must be pretty confident to show everyone that Red?s a bad pair with Yellow, huh? I bet you he is.

After a while, he finally made it to school. He was panting endlessly while he jumped every two steps of the staircase. Before he could even reach the school?s entrance the bell already rang. He glanced up and saw the clock. 7:00 he read it. He swore to himself as he continued to ignore the staring eyes and bumped through numerous students.

?There might be time,? he muttered to himself. Red might not be here for some reason. He ignored the pretty pink and red hearts that were used to decorate the halls. He ignored the red ribbons that lined the halls. The halls of the first floor were filled with students. Green had to squeeze his way through the sea of teachers and students while keeping the bouquet in tact. He gasped for air as he bumped through familiar faces.

?Hey Green!? Green heard a yell but didn?t bother to stop nor turn around to see who it was. He already knew whose voice it was. ?Those flowers better not be for Crys!? It was Gold, of course. Why would Green give those flowers to Crystal when he has no interest on her whatsoever? Ignoring Gold, he continued to ram himself through students and classmates. ?One more floor to go?? he thought to himself as his chest ached and his muscles throbbed. After taking two steps per stride on the staircase, he managed to reach the second floor. The second floor wasn?t that bad since there weren?t that much people around. But then, there?s Blue.

?Oh Green! They?re so beautiful! Thanks so much!? She squealed as she attempted to grab the flowers. Green had to slow down since Blue was about to tackle him.

    ?They?re for Yellow!? he yelled.

Blue let out a disappointed groan and turned around. Green noticed someone behind Blue and he immediately recognized that it was Silver. The redhead must be tagging along with her for some reason. Green noticed something from him. He noticed that he was glaring. For some reason unknown, he decided to ignore him and continued running.

His rapid footsteps and gasps for air could be heard echoing through the hall. He bumped into a teacher and caused that teacher to spill his coffee, making him swear out loudly at Green and threatened him to be reported to his advisors. Green yelled out sorry and continued running. Finally, the last set of stairs was in front of him.

He quickly took three steps at a time this time and in a few seconds, he was finally on the third floor. Without hesitating, he quickly served to his left but someone was standing there. Green stopped in his tracks, panting for air, completely drenched in sweat, and looking like an idiot in front of Yellow-chan. She looked at Green curiously then at the flowers that he was squeezing in his hands. She smiled as Green started to stutter. Green loved that smile. It was as if an angel was smiling here on Earth.

?Ye?Yellow-chan,? he gasped. His heart soared when he noticed that Red was not in sight. Green tried to think of a sensible phrase in order to ask her out. He handed the flowers to her, gulped, and asked, ?Yellow-chan, will you?will you go out with me?? He felt stupid with those words. He tried not to look at her bright blue eyes as she accepted the half wilted yellow roses.

Yellow smiled at him but then sighed. ?Gomen, Green-kun?? she whispered softly. ?Red-kun already asked me out?Gomen??

Green?s heart sunk. His hopes were immediately shattered with her words. Her apology echoed deep in the depths of his mind and even though every word sounded so soft like the wind, to Green, the sound of Red?s name sounded like finger nails being scratched across the chalkboard. Yellow apologized again as she looked down at the flowers. Green sighed once and then forced himself to smile.

?It?s okay,? he said through his forced smile. ?You two have fun. You can keep the flowers.? He was about to turn around when Red suddenly walked to them and stopped next to Yellow.

?Oh hey, Green! Oops, looks like you were going to ask Yellow-chan, too huh?? His voice was in a sympathetic tone that made Green want to leap at him at the moment. ?Sorry dude,?

Green glared at him and quickly turned back to the stairs. Without mentioning another word, he wheeled towards the staircase and didn?t mind if he was late for class. He just wants to be alone for a while.

Yellow looked at him as he slowly ascended using the stairs. She then gazed down at the yellow roses and touched the softly. Along with Red, she walked slowly to her class, which was just four doors down from where they were standing.

    ~*~*~*~

?How pathetic,? Green muttered to himself. He was on top of the school building gazing lazily at the blue, cloudless sky. Even though it was noon, it still felt a bit cool on top of the building. The lunch bell rang as he thought of surrendering to Red?s ultimate victory. For the past few hours, he was contemplating on how he could?ve easily asked Yellow out. If only he could?ve waked up a bit earlier. His haunting actions were projected in his mind just like an old movie. How would he be able to face all those people that he bumped earlier?

As he tried not to think about Yellow and the noise students from below, he didn?t notice the footsteps that came from behind. He didn?t really notice Yellow at that moment except when she sat next to him. He was immediately stunned as he sat up and looked at her. She was wearing her same, friendly smile as she let out a small smile.

?Yellow-chan? Why?why are you here?? he stuttered as he straightened up his hair but then he realized that it would be futile to do so.

?I just wanted to see you, that?s all?? she responded so simply and so calmly. Then she looked over at the distance. She didn?t mind the fence that was used in order to prevent students from falling. She just looked over at the distant?houses, tall buildings, mountains, and meadows?and just remained silent. Green looked over to where she was looking, too and didn?t say a word. The breeze was cool and there were no worries. Green almost forgot about the incident earlier today. When Yellow started to talk, he remembered it almost immediately.

Yellow looked over at him and smiled again. ?I?m sorry I have to let you down?? she still kept her smile and seems to be still cheerful. With her long, blond hair flowing with the wind she looked beautiful.

?No it?s okay. Red beat me to it and that?s fair?? his reply came short when she continued on.

??But then your feelings must be hurt. You?you didn?t attend class and??

?That doesn?t matter right now.? Green interrupted her. ?All I know is that?you?re happy with Red. And all I want to see is that you?re happy?? Green sighed again.

?I don?t want to make you sad, too, Green-kun. I want to see you happy, too. Please don?t be sad??

In response to that, Green smiled warmly. ?Okay, I will.?

A sigh came from Yellow-chan. Both of them didn?t mind the people below who were busily minding their own lunch. The two seem to be getting together by just sitting next to each other.

?I forgot, Green-kun?? she whispered softly.

    ?Huh??

?I forgot to say that I?m sorry about last year,? she looked down at her shoes. ?Last year?I didn?t apologize because?you were the one who actually wanted me to give those gifts. I didn?t realize that it was the cause of your anger towards Red-kun.? She sighed again while playing with her shoelaces.

Green chuckled. ?You didn?t have to apologize,? Green laughed. ?It?s all fine now. Just don?t worry about me. You should worry about Red now. Just forget about it, okay?? Yellow looked at him with her concerned eyes. Green just smiled and nodded.

    ?Just let it go??

A smile was formed from Yellow-chan?s lips. ?Okay?? she nodded slowly ??I will??

Both of them sat together and didn?t say another word until after several minutes when Green asked her a question.

?Yellow-chan, I know this is a pretty stupid question but?? Green inhaled and stated his question ??Are you still going out with Red. If so?do you like him??

Yellow nodded. ?Of course I am. He needs time with someone else, anyway. But don?t worry. I?m going to tell you if he?s acting stupid.?

Both of them laughed at the same time. They didn?t seem to mind that the bell has just rung. They didn?t care since they were happy right now. There was nothing to worry about. Green didn?t even notice that Yellow didn?t answer his second question. But soon, Yellow had to stand up. Green stood up with her and faced her. She looked over at the distance and sighed. The noon light showed the brilliance of her face. Green could do nothing but just stare at her lovingly within the silence.

?Green-kun?? she whispered, without taking her eyes away from the view. ?Do you?really like me??

He looked over at her, half-stunned and tried to think of a good reply to her question. A word could mean so many things even though it has the same meaning to some other words. He couldn?t possibly plainly say yes or yeah or?some other word.

?Yellow-chan?I do?? he replied. He tried to think that somehow, she would feel sorry for him. ?I do like you??

He wasn?t prepared to what was about to happen. Yellow stood on the tip of her toes and kissed Green on his cheek. Lucky guy?

Thank you for the roses?? she whispered to his ear and then she turned around and walked. Stunned, Green struggled to pull himself back together in order to reply.

    ?You?you?re welcome!? He stammered feebly.

Yellow turned around and smiled at him. To Green, the smile was similar to an angel?s?heavenly and sweet. She then turned towards the staircase. She didn?t look back as she walked silently. Soon, Green was by himself. He felt relieved. It was as if a heavy burden was lifted from his shoulders. He sighed as he looked up at the sky and then placed his hands on his pockets.

?Oh, crap?? he muttered to himself. ?I left my bag at home?? A sense of doom pervaded him and he knew immediately that he has to face a few people downstairs, including his teachers.

    Oh well?

Miyu is reviewing! =O *gasp* xD; Sorry for the long review, I tend to be long-winded when I'm typing offline. ;p

I like the straight-to-the point title. Makes people click on it. ;D

    The beginning said:
?Okay, Blue-chan, what are thinking of, now?? Green glared at her with discontent but she still retained her perky smile.
    The wording here is strange, ne? xD;

And other from that, awkward tense switching throughout the story, especially when you switched from the narrator to the protagonist.

Yellow looked at him as he slowly ascended using the stairs. She then gazed down at the yellow roses and touched the softly. Along with Red, she walked slowly to her class, which was just four doors down from where they were standing.
    Is 'the stairs' really necessary in this sentence? xD; And the bolded mistake! =o Something that even Word can't find. Be careful of those. x.o;

    But all that aside... xD;;;

    ---

    I loved the was Green idolized Yellow as his 'goddess' the description of a love-striken guy viewing Yellow from his PoV was hillarious and sweet at the same time. =3 I also loved the narration, though in the end; you kinda switched gears... <<;

Red was amusing as well. =3 And so was Blue... I also loved the little 'side-shows' you had going throughout the whole story. =3

I see potential perfection in this fic. Great, super, uber job. =3

(BTW, what about that fanfiction you posted in the Mod Lounge? xD)

    Thanks! ... looks like I didn't recognize those mistakes for a while...>.>;;
But so anyway, that fanfic in the mod lounge... I'm still working on it... XD

The color names ARE their Japanese names... in fact, the color names are in reference to their Japanese names... =D

comparing my manga fic to a Pokemon Anime fic? BLASPHEMY! XD

Wow thats really good. PLease post more of it.
