"It is located on the northeast corner of the Battle Frontier. The blue building itself is much like a factory, with exhaust fans, and pipes. There is a long, glass panel on the floor of the building that transfers information around. There are Poké Balls containing rental Pokémon in glass storage panels inside, and there is an electronic battle ground that lights up before a battle begins. Like Hoenn's Battle Factory, it is more dedicated to research than the other facilities, and the subject of the scientists' research is the abilities of Trainers when using random Pokémon in battle."

While competitive Pokemon battling can really thrive on battle simulators like Pokemon Showdown, I feel like the old fashioned WiFi battles are declining in popularity. I think the reason is fairly obvious - who has the time to breed, level, and train Pokemon that take about five minutes to assemble on the internet? Understandably, not many people.

Hopefully, I've come up with a remedy for that! Taking inspiration from the Battle Factory from the HGSS Battle Frontier, I've created "Rental Pokemon" - Pokemon I've bred from the ground up to be competitive Pokemon, and I wish to distribute them for the purposes of this event. People who decide to participate in the Battle Factory will receive three Rental Pokemon from me. For now, they are yours. I'm trying to use competitive sets, but also some niches too. This is to allow people to battle with Pokemon that may not be viewed as competitive juggernauts in an environment where they may flourish. Fingers crossed these Pokemon are of value in a battle.

What I hope makes this more fun is the aftermath of the battle - when two people battle, they have to swap one Pokemon at the end. The winner gets to choose the switch, of course, and they must switch. This way, everyone can get a feel of different Pokemon, and not stay on top with overpowered synergy. Even better, at the end of the Battle Factory, you get to keep your Pokemon! And you may get a chance to battle the Factory Head, and take one of his cherished Pokemon!

• This Factory is for Gen 6, so Pokemon X, Y, Alpha Sapphire, and Omega Ruby games
• This is a tournament
• Currently, there is no option for this to be on a Battle Simulator

Receiving Rentals

To receive rentals, the Factory Head will trade them to you! The Pokemon all are bred and raised by him, so they have his OT, and he only requests fodder Pokemon in return. They rental Pokemon you recieve are based on a random number generator - the Factory Head generates six random numbers, and from those the challenger gets to pick three Pokemon to use in the Battle Factory! Beware - you can only see Pokemon species and held items before trading.

• Once you've decided your starting rentals, it's official.
• More Pokemon will become available if more people sign up
• All Rental Pokemon are cloned, but all Pokemon in the factory are unique (ie no two challengers can get the same Pokemon)
• Trade anything to the Factory Head, he doesn't really care

Battling

Once the required amount of people have entered and all rentals are distributed, battles may begin! The tournament is a knock-out tournament, and each person will randomly be assigned a position in the podium bracket (to be made after registration).

All battles for this thread are 3 v 3, using the Rental Pokemon provided. The following settings should be applied:

Number of Players: Two-Player Match
Battle Format: Single Battle
Battle Rules: Normal Rules
Handicap Off

Please note that while there are no restrictions to the number of Pokemon set by the game itself, do not enter any other Pokemon other than your rentals. Also, make sure not to disconnect from the internet straight after, there is still the matter of the trading!

• Battling may only commence after the distribution of all rental Pokemon
• Only battle with your 3 Rental Pokemon
• Smogon's Underused tier rules will apply (even though Pokemon and move choice are predetermined)
• DO NOT change the movesets/held items/nature of the Rental Pokemon
• Organize times to battle users through VMs/PMs
• Use the settings shown
• Disconnections will be taken as a loss for the dis-connector
• Save battle videos if you would like the added security

After Battle/Trading

After the battle completes, there is one final step! The trading!
The winner of the battle gets to choose one Pokemon from the opposing team to switch with one of their own. Even if the winner does not want to trade - they must (this is to prevent one person having an extremely overpowered team).

After all that is said and done, both battlers have to post the results of the battle in the thread. Whoever posts last should quote the post of the person they versed. Eg:

I battled Challenger 2. I lost. We traded successfully.

The Factory Head will then update the thread and the tournament will continue!

• Challengers must trade 1 Rental Pokemon after the battle up to the winners discretion
• Both challengers who battle must post in the thread - one person saying the result and if the trade happened, and the other confirming it
• Please do not lie about trades/battle outcomes
