So what do you think Pearl and Diamond will be. Personally I think it will be 3d because if it isnt 3d than I dont think anyone will buy the game. The only reason I bought the DS was because of D/P and if it is 2d that will suck for me cause otherwise I would have waited for the PSP.

I have a fealling, they will be animated sprites. Not just the crys/em type, but a "cry" sprite like emerald/crystal (probably 4 frames) a normal sprite (4 frames, breathing like, or fire moving ecc.) a melee attack (arms)(4 frames) a melee attack (legs) (4 frames) a special attack (4 frames) and a fainting (4 frames(like the rest))

thats just what i think, and if they do it right, it could turn out well.

The DS' graphics aren't too great compared to things like the N64 and stuff... so I think Nintendo'll stick to what they know best, even if it's in its 2D form.

I have a philosophy. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. While I agree that the story and concept of Pokemon could use a little bit of revamping, the graphics and such are relatively fine the way they are. They should leave them as such with the 2-D sprites.

Another method that might be doable for the DS is to have 2-D sprites traveling in a 3-D world. It would be like Dragon Warrior VII.

I think that this method would still make the games look good. Plus, they could do the 3-D battlefield with 2-D sprites and animate the sprites in a similar way. You'd have to have played DW VII to know what I mean here, but trust me. They look awesome. The only dofference is that you could see the backs of your Pokemon in battle and have them animated as such, thus keeping it true to the originals.

I think that would be the best change in graphics if there are any changes in the works. Of course, the old 2-D is still fine with me (I never complained about the graphics of a game.).
