Well, I was wondering....are 4 moves per pokemon enough in the games? I mean, out of the 24 possible moves in the party, 8 have gotta be HMs...some of the attack powers being weak, so, do u think 4 moves per pokemon is enough?
I think a pokemon should be able to learn 6 moves, I dunno about your opinions, so please vote. Thanx!:D ;)

Mhm. I think, pokemon should learn 6 attacks, not only 4. Then you have more options. But I belive, guys from ninetando know better, what is good for us^^
Hehehe, my friend always says "My Dragonair is so smart, so it should learn 8 attacks, not 4".

I dunno....I wish they would have more....but I think that would make some of them way too powerful. I mean, if you could put 6 moves on Mewtwo you could prolly make it next to impossible. I think if i have more options, so does my opponent, so it doesn't help that much, lol. It would be nice to teach them some extra moves that I've always wanted but didn't really need...

... Is it seriously necessary to see Starmie with psychic/thunderbolt/ice beam/surf/HP Grass/light screen or reflect...?

    =/

Linoone will be terribly overpowered too with belly drum / substitute / flail / extremespeed / shadow ball / HP Fighting...

*puts chin in hands and contemplates this* Hmmmmm... all ideas are good. To quote Psychic Kimmy, I'm "ponesigitve", or sitting on the edge of the fence. I mean, it would make some Pokemon, like legendaries, almost IMPOSSIBLE to beat. And Mew, which can learn almost - or maybe bar the almost - every move in existence, I think... I think 6 moves would be quite enough. I've always wished for more, but it's kind of greedy, really, when you listen to some people against it have their say, in my opinion (IMO). Uuuuummm... well, I got kind of frustrated when I was choosing my moveset for my Blastoise. (My Blastoise is stronger than my bro's Charizard, and he's had Charizard for two weeks longer than me. He's beaten almost everyone, including the E4, and I'm still wandering the labyrinths of Victory Road, murdering Nintendo for not selling PP Ups at the mart. >.>) I mean, I had this:

Protect, Water Gun, Rapid Spin (really handy for Leech Seed, which can murder my Water-dominated team [eat that Red Falcon and Ninetales_001]), and Bite. I got this instead: Skull Bash, Water Gun, Rapid Spin, and Bite. Then I passed down Hydro Pump for Surf, an actually useful HM. And I'm not sure what I did to Rapid Spin.

v_v I really wish I could have Hydro Pump, Surf, Rapid Spin, Bite, Protect, and Skull Bash.

In in-game battling, it'll be a way for n00bs to beat the game quicker by allowing more than 4 sweeping moves. I'm fine with that. But in gaming such as NetBattle, it would nearly ruin it. The strategy is to see what you can do with the 4 moves, so any more will just spoil it to be honest :/

Fair point, Mr. Cat Dog. I guess that's the challenge of the game - well, one of them, anyway - you're given 4 slots for moves. Create the ultimate moveset with it.

OK, it would be easier - and downright more difficult for people like (ebil) Lorelei and Glacia - to battle, but, heh, can you call yourself a real Pokemon Master if you can't do a decent moveset with 4 slots?

And by the way, call me a cheater if you wish, but I can't be bothered being lovey-dovey to every AP as I'm tired, ill, and hungry. So... yawn... I'll make up for it tomorrow. (I'm sick.)

giving more slots for moves will just make OUs even more OU, and UUs even more UU... OUs got a huge movepool slot, while UUs won't benefit much anyway because most UUs got only so many usable attacks...

I'm a bit puzzled... I guess you mean UU's will be sorta wasted with and - oh - oh! - OH! I get it. The OUs will already be ou, so if they get more slots, they'll be even more OU - Mew, for instance - so the UUs will be left alone! Eeeek!

I think its a fair point, but six would be too many. Why not five? Understand I'm viewing this from Metal/Colour point of view and from the view of a trainer that likes powerful moves, but take Snorlax. If you gave him Rest, Sleep Talk, Snore, and Amnesia, you rely on him being asleep. The extra slot would allow Hyperbeam or Body Slam. The HMs is a good point, I hate replacing natural moves with HMs. Its okay when your pokemon's weak, like giving surf to a Dratini until it learns Slam at Lv29, but when you get to the stage of trying to decide whether you want to delete Wing Attack, DragonRage or Outrage to use Hyperbeam, it can be frustrating. I also find when you grow levels, it gets harder to keep Stat-changing moves in your moveset. I think just one more slot would be able enough.

I think that four moves is enough--it gets so complicated after that. :/ At times I wish that we could teach them a few more moves, or even just ONE more, but when it comes down to it--four is enough. ^_^

I think they should be able to have as many moves as you want, but it should all go onto a single point supply, where different moves use a different amount of energy.

Like they might have their HP and another gauge for SP (Special Points), or something like that. If it were to be like that, it would be more reasonable to let them learn all the moves they want, not forcing them to forget ones that you may still need in the later areas. Plus, the unforgettable HM moves wouldn't handicap them as much then.

That's a good point too, a special SP. In the anime, Pikachu definitely has more than 4 moves - Thunder, shock, bolt, agility, quick attack(I think..) and I don't remember the others, if any. So why restrict us in the game? Besides, the anime doesn't even have HMs...so SBaby made a fair point there, a new SP thingie would be nice.

I'm not a big fan of the 4 move thing i think it should at least be 6 .......
