In my last blog, I shared my early complaints about Pokemon White. After I played around more and got far into the game, I discovered its good points.
Audino: This Pokemon is an EXP cow! With the new methods in finding wild Pokemon, this EXP cow appears when tall grass is shaking after you're in a particular spot for a while. Audino is like Chansey, high HP and healing moves. I guess that's why Audino is Unova Nurse Joy's assistant. Finding it is kind of a pain, but after you catch one to fill your PokeDex, HUNT IT DOWN AND MILK IT!!! The EXP you get from it is massive! Combine that with the Lucky Egg for bonus EXP! I'm surprised I haven't put this Pokemon on the extinct list yet. XD
Throh and Sawk: This fighting Pokemon saved my ass many times! After my first beating from Lenora, I searched out this Pokemon and it paid big dividends immediately! It was my powerhouse Pokemon, as well as my last resort Pokemon when my Pignite wasn't up to snuff. While its Speed, Special Attack and Special Defense sucks, its HP, Attack and Defense is top notch, taking out powerful Pokemon with Fighting and Normal moves. It learned "Revenge" and because its Speed rating is low, a Pokemon attacks it and the Power is doubled. Throh's "brother" Sawk, is also that good. As soon as I got Sawk, I added him to my Black Pokemon team, like I did with Throh.
Skyarrow Bridge: I don't care if the creators put that in the game as eye candy. It's tasty eye candy and I love the switching camera views as you run through the long bridge to Castelia City for the first time. It's also a good spot to hatch Pokemon Eggs because it's nice and long as well.
Taking full advantage of the new EXP system: While I had my gripes about the new EXP system early on, it does pay off later in the game. The EXP. Share gives more EXP to the Pokemon holding it and if you got a low level Pokemon you need to raise fast, find an Audino at a high level. If your Pokemon has the Lucky Egg as well, you can get your share of the EXP profits.
Most creative Gyms: The Unova Gym Leaders really know how to spice up their gyms. Skyla and Elesa have two of the funnest Gyms ever in Pokemon games! Skyla's gym uses giant cannons to blast you around the gym and you even slam face first into a wall before battling Skyla. Elesa's gym makes use of colorful roller coasters, keeping up with Nimbasa City's entertainment theme.
PokeTransfer: Send your Pokemon with another DS, take aim with the crossbow Poke Ball launcher and FIRE! The guys at Game Freak really earned their money when they designed a new way to send Gen IV Pokemon into Black and White. It's more fun to shoot Poke Balls at Pokemon hiding behind bushes instead of hunting for them at the Pal Park.
