Thanks to Water Pokemon Master from www.pokebeach.com for the scan.

Luvdisc is a potential game saver.

Think about it. You are in a scenario where Luvdisc is your only Pokemon and your opponent knocks your current Pokemon out. You have no choice to send out Luvdisc. Your last hope is to use Even Game. Now, you have a potential game-saving situation on your hands. I like this card. Luvdisc CG is weak, but it serves a purpose it is used to quite well.

Only to be played in the right deck though.

The colourless energy costs mean it can easily slot into any deck that is having problems with drawing pokémon. Oz ranger said it all really for Even game, (rather weirdly named attack; doesn't really roll off the tongue) and stadium play, well, not much to say really. Mediocre but effective. HP is nice for a basic.

A decent luvdisc? *is used to ruby where all they are for is stealing heart scales from*

    Luvdisc CG (for modified)

IMO This card is one of the best holos from the latest Ex set. Since the rotation of SS Dunsparce, many have struggled to find effective bench fillers for T1 (with minor exceptions such as Plusle, Holon Mentor, Lanett's and Balls).

It has an above average HP for a basic Pokemon and not a bad type (W). It does have only average bottom stats however, (and an L weakness isn't to great considering the win by Mewtric at Worlds).

However, its attacks are where Luvdiscs really shines. Both for C cost make Luvdisc slotable into many decks. Just as well it is a basic Pokemon.

Even game: Is a brilliant attack. It will on average give you 2 or 3 Pokemon on T2 (but at least one) to benefit you setting up making it a very good starter (running 4 per deck would be very beneficial). And has the best cost for any Pokemon. By drawing a Luvdisc in your first 7 card hand, it should be relatively easy to set up quickly to attack.

Stadium Play: Its second attack is another great attack for the same energy cost giving you the possibility of doing at least 10 if you do not want to search for more basics.
For C 10 damage is a very average base damage, however its effect can be possibly game changing, provided there is a stadium in play.
As most (good) decks run 4-5 Stadium cards, it is not too soon for one to be (mis)played by either you or your opponent. If your opponent has laid a Stadium, 10 damage to your opponents bench can be devastating early game (like a mini Dark Tyranitar) being able to heavily damage a number of your opponents weak basics for easy KOs soon after.
Or if you have laid a stadium then Luvdiscs healing can make an powerful stalling wall, keeping you alive for many turns to follow. If not it can be KOed eventually to make a comeback with Scramble energy.

In conclusion, Luvdisc is one of the best basic starters for the upcoming DX on format. Running 4 in a deck to maximise the chances of drawing one in your opening hand to put the majority of games in your favour. However its rarity makes it slightly more difficult to get hold of.
