Here is the Electivire from the first DP set.

Again, I never originally reviewed Electivire, so here we so.

Intense Voltage is a pretty good Poké-Power, but using four Energy for 60 damage isn't. Four for 120 is good, but having to discard at least three Lightning Energy isn't worth it unless you're in a tight spot. The weakness and resistance are okay, but the retreat cost is poor. And let's face it, Electivire from Secret Wonders isn't much better either.

Now, then, Electivire Lv.X. The Poké-Body is pretty good, but the attack is quite disappointing for a Lv.X. Yes, you can do 50 damage for 20. And yes, using both Electivire (DP and SW), it's possible to use Giga Impact for 120 one turn then Pulse Barrier for 50 the next. But only 20 more HP, and a worse Weakness?

Electivire Lv.46: 5/10
Electivire Lv.X: 5.5/10

Great evolution line, not done justice in the TCG yet.

The Electivire is pretty mediocre - 4 energy for 60 is not that good, and if you want to do 120, you'll have to discard 3+ energy cards. And it's retreat cost is just too high...

The Lv.X isn't much better. It's attack would at least be abusable if it doesn't say "your opponent's" stadium card etc., plus it's body needs it to be active to have any effect.
