WARNING: This Thread will include a few sayings, if you can't take it leave right now
How to get a good team together
1. Have you ever heard the saying that 'it's not the sword but the swordsman' well it's true, you need to find what kind you are, such as the defensive type, offensive type, stamina type, stalling type, etc., etc.
2. Then you have to choose Pokemon that relate to your type
3. Start training your Pokemon
4. Then your finished
This is the way I set my team
Examples of my teams
FIRERED (Rented from Vizz)
Platinum (Deleted)
SoulSilver
Black
Now as you see I don't fit all my requirements if it doesn't I try to make sure the moves at least fit the Party Requirements
Advice to defensive type people:
If you can't see I'm a defensive type person, so I work on defense. Though as you can see some of them aren't Defensive such as Charizard, Staraptor as well (especially that stupid Pichu! (I still have those bad memories of it trying to kill me at the Pokemon League!)). Though I still use them because well have you ever heard that offense is the defense, so well that's true, but when I use an offensive type Pokemon I make sure it's got Speed so it can KO stuff more easily and not die so easily. (When using defensive Pokemon make sure you have a strong attacking move to take the opponent out)
Advice to Offensive type People:
Well as you can see above, speed is also important when being offensive or you'll be dead in 1 hit.
Sorry to the rest, but since I'm not one of you guys I don't know.
A good piece of advice is to use abilities to your advantage.
