With Legends: Arceus just released, plus the new Pokémon that came with it, an concept came to mind: "What if there was a fighting game based on Legends: Arceus?" Pokken Tournament, a Pokemon fighting game based on Tekken, already exists, so I wondered how a Pokken Tournament game with Legends: Arceus content will work. That idea now became the title of: Pokken Tournament Legends!
Story Mode:
The game, like Legends: Arceus, takes place in the Hisui region. Zisu and Commander Kamado of Jubilife Village are hosting a battle tournament where the winner will be declared Champion of Hisui. The protagonist is a contestant for this tournament and with his/her partner Pokémon, they will have to compete with others, most notably members of the Diamond and Pearl clans, in order to be crowned the winner. All seems normal until the tournament gets hijacked by a group of thugs claiming to be members of "Team Renegade", who say it was part of an operation to resurrect the "true almighty Sinnoh". The true mastermind, or better off to say three masterminds behind this ordeal because:
SPOILER ALERT:
The team leaders will reveal themselves to be the Miss Fortune sisters who plan to summon Giratina at the Temple of Sinnoh! Now the protagonist will have to not only fight for the champion title, but to now put an end to the team's mischief and Giratina's wrath.
The Fighter Roster:
The roster will only consist of Pokémon found in the Hisui region. I only choose these Pokémon because they appear to be the most fighting-fit from my point of view.
Existing Pokken Tournament Fighters:
Pikachu
Pikachu Libre (this time spouting some new Hisui-style clothing)
Machamp
Gengar
Scizor
Gardevoir
Empoleon
Garchomp
Lucario
Croagunk
Weavile
Darkrai
New Hisui Pokemon Fighters:
Kleavor
Sneasler
Hisuian Samurott
Hisuian Lilligant
Hisuian Zoroark
Hisuian Decidueye
New Sinnoh/Hisui Pokedex Pokemon Fighters:
Alakazam
Rhydon
Snorlax
Ursaring
Infernape
Floatzel
Lopunny
Abomasnow
Electivire
Magmortar
Gallade
The Assist Roster:
The roster will only consist of Pokémon found in the Hisui region. I only choose these Pokémon because of their diverse movepool choices
Existing Assists:
Croagunk
Magneton
Eevee
Sylveon
Magikarp
Mismagius
Ninetales
Rotom
Pachirisu
Togekiss
Espeon
Umbreon
Cresselia
New Hisui Pokedex Assists:
Hisuian Electrode
Hisuian Growlithe
Hisuian Typhlosion
Hisuian Braviary
Hisuian Goodra
Hisuian Avalugg
Wyrdeer
Basculegion
Overqwil
New Sinnoh/Hisui Pokedex Assists:
Crobat
Aipom
Steelix
Whiscash
Torterra
Staraptor
Luxio
Drifblim
Skuntank
Chatot
Dusknoir
The Stages:
I choose these specifically because I wanted a diverse set of environments to battle in:
Jubilife Village
Aspiration Hill
Deertrack Heights
The Heartwood
Gapejaw Bog
Cloudpool Ridge
Ginkgo Landing
Primeval Grotto
Wayward Cave
Bonechill Wastes
Snowpoint Temple
Temple of Sinnoh
Battle Mechanics:
The battle mechanics are mostly the same as Pokken Tournament, but with one new twist that ties in with Legends: Arceus. In battle, both fighters will have a power meter. This power meter, when filled up, gives the user a choice to use Agile Style or Strong Style. Otherwise, the user can charge the meter again to use his/her Ultimate Attack based on Pokken Tournament.
Agile Style:
This style allows the user to move faster and perform more sufficient parries, but attacks will become weaker. It only lasts for 10 seconds.
Strong Style:
This style allows the user's attack to deal more damage to the opponent, but his/her movement will become very slow. It also lasts for only 10 seconds.
The meter will reset after the choice has been made.
