A Quick Question...

Illegal, no. Immoral, yes. No one wants to trade a perfectly legit Pokemon for a hacked one. (Well, most people anyways). So no matter how strong/weak it is, I don't think people would want to trade a legit for it (especially if it's weak). But as for being illegal, no...You're not gonna get arrested for using AR or GS ;)

why would you? and why would anyone be bothered by it?

..Not that I have a cheating device anyway.
I Was just curious.
EDIT: And I mean In Game illegal.

There's no such thing as In Game Illegal. Srsly, people are getting really touchy about this stuff. You can do whatever you want in your own game. It's yours. Who's going to stop you?

Cheating isn't okay when it involves other people that don't consent to it. Thats it.

as soon people make it my business im frustrated. so when they want to trade me something hacked for something i worked for. the thing about pokemon is that you are supposed to interact a lot, hackers suck from that prospect.

That would be involving someone without consent, wouldn't it?

Hell, if I wanted to right now, I could hack my game for 100 max-stat Mewtwos. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that as long as I don't trade them or battle with them. I completely agree that screwing people over with hacks is wrong, but the act of hacking your own game for your own personal amusement isn't 'Illegal'.

agreed. im a privacy freak actually, so you have me on your side when you put it like that.

the NAME? Why would you need to hack the name? That's what the name rater is for!

Geez, use some reason.

I still wouldn't hack the name.... what if you traded your beloved pokemon and got one back with an innapropriate name like f*ckface? Not like you'd do that, but I'm against it. If you got a pokemon in a trade and didn't like the name, then do ahead and hack it.

you already got your answer: no, its not illegal. its your game, do with it whatever you want. most people think any kind of action replay is stupid though and might not want to trade/battle with you. but when you're talking about those harmless cheats, then really no one actually cares, because why should they
