So I'm getting into Almost Any Ability on Pokémon Showdown, and I have 1 'mon that I want to keep in my team.
Tyranitar @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
Yeah, its not much, but I'm completely new to AAA. One of the other 'mons I thought of using was the following:
Gengar @ Life Orb
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hypnosis
- Hex
- Zap Cannon
- Focus Blast
This was based off of NathanLikesChicken1's Gengar he used. The combo of No Guard and Hypnosis sets up easy Hexes. Focus Blast is decent prediction coverage, and Zap Cannon adds another way to inflict status due to Sleep Clause (and adds damage, all helped by No Guard).
I refuse to use Noivern, as it is under suspicion of being too strong, so preempting that potential ban by simply avoiding Noivern, but will need a counter just in case. Tyranitar can be...
But that's all I got. Any ideas would help, as I'm definitely no AAA expert. I may not use it, but every step gives me ideas on where to go.
EDIT:
So I've been working, and I have now 4 potential 'mons to work with. They may be crap, but it's still a start.
Tyranitar @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Body Press
- Fire Punch
- Foul Play
- Thunder Punch
Gengar @ Life Orb
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hypnosis
- Zap Cannon
- Focus Blast
- Hex
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 20 HP / 248 Def / 240 SpD
Careful Nature
- Leech Seed
- Stealth Rock
- Protect
- Knock Off
Zapdos @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Thunder
- Weather Ball
- Defog
So tell me your thoughts. Like I said, it may not be good, but it's a start. It seems more like a balanced team, using Ferrothorn as your main pivot, with Tyranitar as a bulky offense and Zapdos as a wallbreaker, with Gengar the main sweeper, despite little set up. A good set up 'mon might be an idea, maybe something in the dragon or fairy category...still feeling this out. There's so much to work with, it's hard to narrow down what is good and what is holding me back. That's why I need objective views.
