I just tried to get a baby Slakoth in my Emerald game. I bred my female Slakoth with a male Spoink, and I carried a Camerupt in my team, so that should halve the egg steps. There is, however, a weird problem I am encountering.

Why is the baby's nature always Lax? I kept restarting and restarting the game and I always end up with a Lax-natured Slakoth. Does it have something to do with the natures of the parents? My Spoink is Naughty and my female Slakoth is Bashful. Can anyone please help me ASAP? Thank you.

PS - I really need an Adamant Slakoth. If it has something to do with the natures, please tell me how to remedy it!

You must be resetting right before the egg hatches or right after the Day Care Man steps out. What you need to do is save BEFORE the Day Care Man even steps out from the fence. Once he steps out, the Nature is set. The only thing not set in stone when he steps out are IVs.

PS: If you have an Adamant Ditto, you can make your life a whole lot easier and breed the Ditto with a male Slakoth, but make sure the Ditto is holding an Everstone. A female or Ditto holding an Everstone will yield a 50% chance that the offspring will be of the same nature. I've also tried a female/Ditto relation, with the female holding the Everstone, and it seemed to work the same. But that hasn't been proven quite yet, I don't think. ;-)

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I know about that Everstone thing, but I'm still yet to get to Lilycove, so I can't get Ditto yet. Serebii.net proves the female holding the Everstone works, so there you go. :P

Oh, you mean to tell me that I have to save while he's still behind the fence? You see, I saved BEFORE I SPOKE TO HIM (before I got the Egg) and it worked for previous games. This I don't quite get...
