About the Binary Hack Research & Development Forum
The Binary Hack Research & Development forum is the place for developing new code and gathering suggestions to improve binary ROM hacks and understand games. This includes modifications to features in the games, or adding entirely new features to the game. This is not limited to any particular game; whether it's for a GBA Pokémon game, a 3DS game, etc., if it needs to be broken apart, go ahead and do it here! This section mainly consists of these kinds of threads, with an appropriate category attached:
- Research
Use this category for routines and functions in compiled ROM code that requires additional research. This is suitable for anyone who wants to go solo or enlist the help of others in documenting unknown code.
Note that at this time, GBA Pokémon games have been largely documented by pret and thus new research for GBA games may not be approved. - Development
If you're developing new routines, functions or other code for a game, and/or wish to collaborate on code with others, tag your thread with the Development category. A thread that's intended to transition from research to a full-blown project should also be categorised as this.
Projects classed as "Development" that have reached a certain point and are utilised by members as resources will be moved to the Resources section.

For development threads, your first post should detail what you're aiming to do. It's recommended that you write this in a short paragraph. In addition, you may include notes such as what research you've already done. You should also note the game(s) that you are researching and developing your idea for. You also have the option to forbid your idea from being given to another party.
Any member may post in threads in this section. You may contribute ideas, tips, scripts, or anything that may further the development or finish the project. Members may not, however, post any comments that don't contribute to the thread.
